Having a verified handle on Twitter means nothing. He should tell us his family name in Badagry. All the true Yoruba sons and daughters know their family names. He should tell us his. |

Kennedyli: Lol. David, whose father signed the 2nd C of O Tinubu is from Akwa-ibom. You are funny. Okay. Sorry about the misinformation. His father claimed to be from Badagry a border town with Benin Republic. Hence, there is a high probability that he's a Beninois. Probably due to a Free Education program of Obafemi Awolowo in the West, his Father choose to add "Fakunle" to his name, hence the name "David Fakunle Hundeyin." I doubt if Hundeyin has any direct meaning in the Yoruba dialect. His mum is from the Ibibio group in Akwa Ibom. Therefore, it is no surprise the boy is looking for cheap popularity by discrediting his host in Lagos. This current David Hundeyin is probably not even Egun but a Beninois, just like secrecy surrounding Atiku as a Cameronian. |

Nurudeen is not a Muslim.
However, one thing we should understand is that Ede, his hometown, has more Muslims than Christians. So he'll need to form familiarity with the people. He was a Muslim by birth. Given that he grew up in the US, I believe his conversion to Christianity is more of a convenience rather than a conviction. |

ClassicMan202: Of course, they are induced and maybe their transport expense is covered by someone..... But in the end that someone achieves his aim of hijacking the system... So what then should the southern electorate do?? Wait for inducement too? Or take their destiny into their hands and vote massively? People with no affiliation with any political party don't usually have the zeal to vote anywhere. In such situations, people only vote when they know the person they are voting for is going to make the changes they desire. In Nigeria, most political candidates don't convince us enough to give us the zeal to vote for them. Many of them don't come with convincing campaigns, other than "I'll construct roads, I will build blocks of classrooms, primary health care, etc." In Ekiti, for example, I doubt if any of the candidates came out to present the clear blueprints on how he planned to turn the state into a "small London." Without such convincing plans, many electorates with no party affiliation would not find it interesting to vote, because they would have nobody in mind to vote for. You don't just expect people to vote for voting's sake. One of the main reasons "IPOB" were saying there won't be an election in South East is because they don't have interest among the candidates. But immediately Obi emerged as the flag bearer of LP, the story changed thereafter. The SE people are majorly the people canvassing "youths" to get PVC. Why? Because they now believe someone that will represent their interest is now contesting, and they would love to vote him with, or without inducement. Hence, Southern Politicians should always induce us, either with money or clear plans to make our states or country better. By then, I believe many people will rather collect 10k and vote, than tweet online, or vote because they know they are voting for someone with a good plan to make the desired changes instead of tweeting online. |

ClassicMan202: You seem to be misunderstanding the OP, southern electorate are only active on social media. So you believe northern voters ordinarily go out to vote on their own without any form of inducement? The Northerners in the south that usually travel back home to vote, you believe they use their money for transport fare? Answer these questions first, let's see. |

Politics › Re: Southern Nigeria Is Not Ready For Presidency (ekiti 180k Votes ) by Owopariola01: 9:31am On Jun 19, 2022 |
Munamoqel: because the eligible voters refuse to vote .1m registered voters only 330k voted and the winner has a very weak mandate if na yobe state now winner wi have around 700k votes The number of registered voters is 749,065, not 1 million as you claimed. Though there will be some eligible people that would decide not to have PVC, mostly because they feel they don't need it. Also, many of the registered voters are not full-time residents. Some decide not to vote as they believe their votes won't "count, " or they don't have any preferable choice among the candidates available. While some others only have the PVC for other future purposes. These categories of people are called "swing voters" and that's where the "votes buying/inducement" comes into play. It happens everywhere. In the North that we all hype, the Political class induces all these categories of people to vote with money, food, or any other instantaneous gifts. |

Gentew: That is why I strongly believe that Democracy is not for underdeveloped Countries… Democracy is a scam in the third world Countries…. The illiterates are far more than the educated. Especially in the North, they will continue to keep their people uneducated to use them as a political tool! Education has nothing to do with choosing the "right" person to represent you to make decisions on your behalf. No elective position in Nigeria (or democracy) requires a particular discipline. You just need to have the ability to speak the lingua franca, read and write. |

Hedonini: No right is absolute. Not even the right to life itself, let alone the 'right' to vote.
If you're not permitted to drive unless you are licensed, then you can be deprived the right to vote unless you have a minimum level of education. It's in your best interest because electing people to govern over the affairs of society is too important an activity to be left to bumpkins and dirt poor illiterates who are incapable of making informed decisions. How is "minimum education" becomes a yardstick for making an "informed decision" when it comes to picking the right person to represent you in government? Does that mean if you don't go to school at all, you can not pick the "right" person to represent you personally in the government? |

All these illiterate rural dwellers are the source of our problem. They're the ones who foisted a disaster like Buhari on us and are set to repeat the same madness.
I could use a system of elite suffrage where the enlightened few should be allowed to decide for the hopelessly ignorant majority. Not the other way round. This is the same "elite suffrage" system the NASS is using over us today when it comes to making laws. |

Two02: One thing about me is I love when someone is very plain and straight forward. If you want Muslim- Muslim ticket fine, but don't hide it under the "umbrella of competence". It's funny tho when you say Muslim-Muslim ticket don't matter but you care about zoning, tribe and ethnicity shouldn't matter. It looks as if we don't have competent northern christians.
Honestly religion and ethnicity shouldn't matter, but don't play double standard. If you want to chose a Muslim-Muslim ticket, don't make it about competency, cos there a people of other faiths who are very competent. I think Nigeria is not matured enough for a Muslim-Muslim Ticket.
To those of you saying "people who are complaining about tinubu Muslim-Muslim ticket won't vote for him in the first place", should note that if Tinubu wins he's going to be the president of all Nigerians not just his supporters alone.
Democracy is for everyone and not the Majority alone. It's not just about competence, it's also about electoral value. Even the APC bigwigs know that currently there are few or no Northern Christians that have an electoral value that can pull the needed crowd for them. Hence, the dilemma of the Muslim-Muslim/Christian ticket. |

And I bet you to this day they are still profiting from the share he bought for Anambra. Just go and verify… What is the return on the investment to Anambra state? |
Politics › Re: Japhet Omojuwa Asks A Question Regarding Peter Obi by Owopariola01: 9:25pm On Jun 15, 2022 |
TooNoisy: There is a difference between a global company trading in a country and its Nigerian entity. The foreign entity owns some shares and ther is Nigerian ownership as well. Due to local content restrictions and to have Nigerians on the board, share are given to Nigerians as well.
The local entity is partly owned by Peter Obi's family and he never denied it. Some of those guys just don't have any education.
The local entity is part owned by Obi's family and he invested $30million of Anambra State money in that company. That is clear conflict of interest and he was impeached for that offence. You dey mind them? How much did the said investment brought to the state coffers? When BAT used #4billion to generate #19billion through investment in Econet, many of the critics were too daft to see the financial sense in it. Again, how much did the said investment brought to the state coffers? |
