I love that line of thought. P.H., though not exactly in the SE, is a fitting big city just steps away from the SE. The SE proper will get there too. Patience.

I don't like your username though.

Health / Rate Yourself: How Healthy Do You FEEL? by oyinda3(f): 5:43am On Dec 23, 2010
How healthy do you feel on a scale of 1 to 10.
I'm asking this because health and well being are extremely important for happiness and good quality of life.
I just wanted to survey nairalanders on how they perceive their health and what issues they are worried about.
so give yourself a score and explain why.

personally, i'll give myself a 6.5/10. I need to watch my eating and sleeping habits. I need to do healthier things in general.

Politics / Re: Ojukwu To Be Flown To Britain Today by oyinda3(f): 5:27am On Dec 23, 2010
how old is he?
I'm not wishing him death but from these topics about him, I feel that a lot of igbos are still keeping the old biafra dream alive for some reason. I hope they don't spread this virus to their children as the old generation dies out. we want a peacefully united Nigeria.

if he dies, may his soul RIP. I really mean it when I say may his soul rest in peace. along with biafra that is.
Culture / Re: You Are Soo Igbo Yet Denying It by oyinda3(f): 3:13am On Dec 23, 2010
i think I understand what u mean now. Igbos were never united from the beginning. they just consisted of small independent tribes who maybe spoke the same language but there was no central govt or anything like that. to be honest, igbos probably are more united today than they were pre-nigeria. do u agree?
Politics / Re: Do You Still Trust Sahara Reporters? by oyinda3(f): 2:54am On Dec 23, 2010
No. never trusted them from the start. they thrive on shock value and sensationalism.
and like most already know, their news is very very biased. they don't even try to be objective at all.
if there are two drummers at an event, they photoshop it to make them four in number. why try to make a dummy out of your readers??

Ok. I guess I didn't understand the topic then.

@ Oyinda

I dont know where you got that statement of yours. Is the same thing not happening in Yorubaland with the Yoruba denials in Kwara state who vehemently claim that they are not Yorubas, even when the whole world knows they are?

I don't think there are "yoruba denials."
there are different kinds of yoruba people. The original yorubas are ones from the core states like  oyo, ogun, ondo, osun etc. the ones from Kwara, benin etc are not original yorubas. They are peripheral yorubas. That is generally acknowledged among us. In fact, I met a kwara yoruba a while ago and we were joking about it. she was making fun of me that she spoke better yoruba than me although she's from kwara and i'm from one of the core states.
I've met  people from togo and benin also who claim yoruba because they speak the language and bear the name but I consider them to be peripheral yoruba.

I guess it's the same with igbos but I might have confused things esp. since I don't know your history. srry about that.
Family / Re: Do you ever think Marriage Is Overrated? by oyinda3(f): 11:30pm On Dec 22, 2010
chaircover:

IMO if one finds him/herself in a loveless marriage then marriage may not look too palatable but if both parties are truly enjoying the marriage, they genuingly love each other, learnt how to reslolve conflict, deal with the ups and downs of marriage, living in peace and are reaping the benefits of the union then they wont look at it as overrated; but will see it as a blessing

I think it depends on why you are getting married, what kind of person you are and what kind of person is your partner

I agree. Like Chika has said, marriages like that, where both parties truly love each other and connect well, are underrated.

Romance / Re: Cheated -another Perspective by oyinda3(f): 6:37am On Dec 22, 2010
@genius,

cheating and hiding your tracks is not an easy task. no kidding lol

you know, I read somewhere that nothing is an easy task. even becoming a good armed robber, hacker, gambler, are difficult tasks that require learning. some are not dumber than your average doctor or lawyer. they may even be smarter!! so why did they choose their paths?

people are different. ok?
to me, it depends on your level of morality and how strong you are in following your conscience strictly and defer gratification. like i said, it's mostly about discipline.
for example, if you are a type that's very family oriented and devoted to your wife and kids, you are less likely to want a job that require lots of "business travel." how about that?
you have to make a choice if money matters more to you. and of course if money matters more, you are more likely to cheat. do you follow?

at least that's my opinion.

i'm trying to spend less time on NL and more time on other stuff. but it's really hard esp. now that i'm on break.

Romance / Re: Cheated -another Perspective by oyinda3(f): 6:23am On Dec 22, 2010
aren't you funny?
Romance / Re: Cheated -another Perspective by oyinda3(f): 6:18am On Dec 22, 2010
lol.I wasn't talking about social status and wealth. I was speaking more about character traits.
but anyways, to me celebrities, athletes and public figures have higher chances of cheating. they have the character trait = attention/compliment seeking. that's what their occupation revolves around so obviously it will also play out in their private lives.

ex. a basketball player is way more likely to cheat than an obscure NASA chemical researcher. even if their incomes are within the same range.
in the same way a strict practicing muslim or deeper life member is less likely to cheat than a shiny suit wearing, flashy car driving pastor.

that's just my opinion anyway. I'm sure you also have your opinion.
Fashion / Re: Fallacy About Acne(pimples) by oyinda3(f): 6:06am On Dec 22, 2010
what's your diet like? do you eat too much of anything?do you eat too much of the candies, sugar etc? try cutting sugar out of your diet. try this for a month or two.
do you have a beard that you shave regularly? try shaving less if you do.
or you may still be going through puberty.
