Beverlyjean:do u know how long the coaches of Leeds United, Marco Bielsa and Carlo Ancelloti of Everton have spent in football? Marco Bielsa has been a manager since 1980 till now! Carlo Ancelloti has been managing since 1995 till now. Leeds United and Everton are doing well even without huge amount of funds..How about Sir Alex Ferguson? He spent longer than Jose Mourinho. Age even make them better with experience. Age is not why Mourinho is declining. Jose Mourinho is only declining because his recent clubs either have no money to spend like Tottenham, or they are unwilling to spend like when he was in Manu. |
Mourinho only excels when u give him an open cheque to sign any player he wants, no matter the cost. If u don't, he will do exactly what he did in Tottenham, achieving nothing . Same thing will also happen to Guardiola. Both of them succeed only when there is unlimited supply of transfer funds. |
iampeterben:I am not also sure that you "can be able" to speak the right English in the next 50 years even if they import and employ an English Professor from England to teach you ![]() |
This govt still doesn't understand the reasons for most of the problems bedevilling the country. This minister just said that the reason for the increasing number of different vigilante groups across the nation is because of resource control, regional self-determination and secession. The minister failed to reaslise that the reasons for these were govt's failure to perform its constitutional responsibilities and when u don't understand a situation, u can't proffer the solutions. |
Don't forget to include those governors that have been paying these terrorists all in the name of " preventing farmers'/herders clashes". |
Osibanjo has a better chance of becoming the next president than Tinubu. The next election, if there will be any, will shock a lot of people. |
Neutralobserver:your statement is not entirely correct. The issue is that Nigerians have a govt they don't trust and this govt lacks integrity. So many times this govt has increased prices of petroleum products and said it was due to subsidy removal. But the govt will come up again to say it hasnt removed subsidies, how will people trust such a govt?. Also, are refineries from space that we cannot build?. Can't we repair our old ones? Why rely so much on Dangote's refinery? These are what brings distrust. |
When u have a refinery license according to Nigeria's policy, u have the right to import petroleum products until u are able to establish your refinery. Abnormal things happen in Nigeria . Because of this, most of these license holders will renew their licenses because they want to keep importing petroleum products and receive subsidies that can't be explained. Their goal is not to build refineries but to keep importing. Our brains need to be checked seriously in this country ![]() |
Not an in insult but I just feel like asking. Are u a student?. From what I read up there, u go to the bar very early and stay up to 9am when u thought everybody must have left home. U hang out at a hotel with a female friend and stay up to late at night when you thought everybody might have slept off. Your new neighbour is also always calling u to help get something done for her because u are always available in your new accomodation. You are always at home. No mind me, I'm just being curious. |
seunny4lif:in 2013, the Russian GDP was $2.3trillion, in 2019, the GDP fell to $1.64trillion dollars. In 2020, it fell to $1.3trillion. The economy is also largely dependent on oil and Energy just like Nigeria and is susceptible to the same frequent oil shocks that other oil-dependent countries suffer. The Trump administration gave each American some financial assistance. This isn't what I got from Google, some people I know were beneficiaries of this. Also, the Biden administration has also done the same this. Each American child just received $450. Not everybody is daft on Nairaland, try to respect other people's views and if you have contrary views, express them without insult. |
Russia and North Korea may joke with the welfare of their people but they don't joke with security, even in the midst of abject poverty and failed economies, these countries still keep on pumping their scarce resources into producing things that are capable of decimating the whole world. They keeping forgetting that after the war, everybody loses in one way or the other ![]() |
kkash:not equal but a balance. The quantity of salt u put in your food is not equal to the quantity of food. A little salt can balance the quantity of food even though both quantities are not equal. |
kkash:on aggregate,it does but it will create another problem which is called deflation. That is why countries have central banks which used monetary policies to check the problem. When there is inflation, the CBN withdraws excess money from circulation. When there is deflation, they pump more money into circulation. There is supposed to be a balance of both. |
kkash:yes, to some extent. If prices are high and no demand because of scarcity of money, producers will be forced to bring down prices, especially for perishable goods. This happens for a normal goods. You will find out that things are cheaper in the evening than in the day. |
Do u still remember what they taught u in school as one of the characteristics of money that "it must be relatively scarce"?. If u keep on printing money, it becomes so common and loses that basic characteristic of money. That is why inflation is also defined as too much money in circulation but little purchasing power" |
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people". RIP DMX. |
This Tonto should get herself sorted out quickly before people conclude her case like that of Lai Mohamed who is believed to never say anything truthful. |
Our military officers are very "powerful" when they are in group or when there is hope of re-enforcement. If u meet them in a one on one situation, without hope of reinforcement from other military personnel, that is when u will realised that most of them are cowards. This is one major feature they share with cult groups, they are only powerful as a group. I just pity the Lastma official who may never get justice in a banana republic like ours. |
The kind of support Dangote and most of these rich men get from govt, if an ordinary Nigerian gets that support, he or she will also count in billions. These people cannot do without govt. Even a clueless Nigerian, without the requisite skills or knowledge will still count in millions if he or she gets the kind of govt support Dangote keeps getting, that is how serious it is ![]() |
In other words, out of 39, the families of only 5 of them have been able to negotiate and pay ransom for 5 of the students while the rest families may either be still negotiating or looking for money to pay the ransoms for their abducted kids before the kids will be dropped off to locations where our gallant military officials will be able to pick them up and "rescue" them ![]() |
If Nigeria can efficiently implement long jail sentences like these ones, death by hanging and forfeiting of all properties whether legally or illegally acquired for corruption related crimes, the issue of corruption will come to an end ![]() |
I expected Nike to have also filed for outrageous financial damages!!!. For every evil act, there will always be supporters and those who hope the evil continues for selfish reasons. Just look at the lunatic who wanted to make a profit out of the situation. Walking with a shoe that contains human blood is as disgusting as it sounds. |
Why not just disconnect the lines? |
If they use the helicopters to fight sea piracy and crude oil theft, how will the military officials make their money . This situation is like giving an unrepentant criminal the task of preventing crime, how is that possible? Check the lifestyles of these officials, u will be surprised at the amount of wealth in their possession far beyond legal earnings . |
The political life of Adams Oshiomole is directly proportional to the political lives of some Edo politicians like this man, Obahiagbon, Idahagbon, Odubu, Kabaka, Agbonayinma Johnson and many others. When Oshiomole's political life is alive, theirs will also be alive, when it is in coma as it is now, theirs will all also be in coma ![]() |
If not for Mediatek, some phones would have been out of the reach of most Nigerians. Qualcomm chipsets are very expensive and that is what account for the high cost of Samsung, Nokia, LG and others. Tecno, infinix, itel, Xiaomi and so many others are big customers of Mediatek and Africa provides a big market for these phones. |
It must be high profile rape cases for the cases to still be in the courts instead of their normal sharia courts where judgement is easy and swift especially for the non-muslims, poor and people without connections ![]() |
One of the most risky things to collect from people is a gift, no matter in what form it comes. It may even be worse when it comes from strangers like this Yahoo boy. A gift is 50-50. |
festacman:I wont be surprised if he read sharia law, studying Sharia law is enough to make u the CJN or any other top judicial official in Nigeria ![]() |
From the post, the husband's action is exactly what a Fani-kayode will do. Even in the wrong, they will always claim right and threaten the victims of their wrong. How will a right-thinking husband and father-to-be send away a 6-month pregnant wife as long as she didn't cheat or put his life at risk? Has he ever complained to the wife's family about whatever disagreements they were having before sending her packing? Did he think every woman was "familyless" and can be treated as trash? U want to "sue the woman's family for abduction" simply because they took in their daughter you sent packing from a home that is supposed to belong to both of u even with a 6month pregnancy . I love what the woman's father did. Since the husband was foolish enough to treat his inlaws with disdain, he should also be denied from his roles and respect as a father. Let him take the case to any court and unfortunately, the courts are for everybody. |
NwaNimo1:good question. The wife may even be from the same south east but maybe different state or village. Some Nigerians can use anything to discriminate. |
The budgets are different from what happens in reality. Check Borno for instance, a state that is ravaged by terrorism and in the midst of economic downturn is budgeting N248b far more than Enugu, Edo, Anambra and many other more economically viable and stable states, where will Bornu get funds to finance such budget? I see many of these budgets same way I have always seen the Cross-River state's budgets over the years in trillions of naira on paper but nothing like that in reality ![]() |
