An average Nigerian will celebrate if his or her relation marrys an American, a Briton, canadian, Australian, Japanese, singaporean or other Europeans even when we don't know their history. That family will be assumed to be the most "fortunate" family in the whole community. They won't even bother to do any investigation as the person is certified qualified to marry their son or daughter because of these countries I already mentioned. When it comes to within us, we start discriminating. it is all about business and politics. If you are highly producing and exporting country, the cheaper your goods are, the more quantity other countries will buy. Japan produces alot. At the end of the day, the quantity exported will be so high that it will make up for the cheap prices and low exchange rate. The political aspect of it is that America does not treat china the same way it treats Japan with respect to low currency value. If tbis happens, china will flood American market with very cheap goods and it will kill American industries.

Is it a crime to mention those involved? By concealing them, the journalist is protecting the criminals but as usual, some nigerians talk before they think and you are a typical example of such people.

Sometimes it is a matter of choice. The japanese yen would have been even stronger than the strongest currency on the list if they wanted it so. Their economy is strong enough for that.

Your opinions are in order. One thing with Karma is that you can be the smartest person in the world but one very dumb move will be your downfall. What is $20million dollars to somebody like him? what will America gain by bringing him down? Which American airline or businesses is he directly in competition with? We should only watch and see and wish him well instead of this noise some of us are making.

Let's hope so. America doesn't engage in media trial like Nigeria. They must have done extensive investigation which may even have taken years before this came to the media. I just hope he is clean because he is one of the few "shinning lights" we have at the moment even though we don't know how it all started.

this kind of news deserve sanction from the regulatory body. This is weak, unsure-of and fear-fear journalism. That is why I love premium times, they will give you even if not all, but some details about the individuals involved. Apart from Premiumtimes, cablenews, channelstv, the rest news media are like hungry bloggers.

Too many crime but very few of those responsible being caught and prosecuted. When you fail to catch, prosecute and punish a criminal, you are indirectly telling would-be criminals that they will be safe if they commit a crime. The forensic evidence like shoe/footmarks, finger prints and others will even at the crime scene but our security forces place higher importance on looking for human evidence which may not even be available rather than these. May they find rest.

This same state govt keeps producing budgets since they came in worth trillions of naira when everybody knows that Cross River state doesn't have the ability to finance a trillion naira budget, even Lagos state will struggle with such budget. Don't expect fulfilment from a promise founded on lies.

you are right. Unfortunately, APC will never take the step to change it. PDP laid the evil foundation, APC consolidated on the bad foundation. I have always told people that there is nothing APC is doing today that PDP has never done before. They are even taking it to higher level. I had high hopes about our refineries when Ibe kachukwu was state minister for petroleum. He made many promises. But at the end of the day, the next caption we heard from him was "why we failed". I don't trust any promises from a Nigerian politician anymore. With respect to Dangote's refinery, it will help a lot but must we continue to put the future of the whole Nigeria in the hands of one man, Dangote?.

It is not different from the way we treat crude oil. We export crude oil and spent trillions importing its derivatives despite being the 6th or 7th richest producer of crude oil. Nigeria is always in a state of irony and joke.

which Buhari or APC? Didn't you read where the attorney-general of Israel said law enforcement is not something that should be done in a discretional manner but an obligation? In Nigeria, our political leaders decide who to investigate and prosecute. They show blind eyes to political, economic and family associates. We don't fight corruption in Nigeria, we norture it according to our interests. The office of the attorney-general must be separated and made independent of political parties as they do in saner climes if we are serious with fighting corruption. Buhari, Apc and PDP cannot fight corruption. They are beneficiaries of corruption.
