BRATISLAVA:I was only using Egypt as an example of countries in Africa who signed the free trade agreement. What some of these countries do to Nigeria under the guise of "elder brotheliness", they won't do it to other African countries. Foreign countries and companies are also taking advantage and copying from them. Imagine toyota going to set up a plant in Ghana when the market is in Nigeria. We must take a stand now. I never supported total free trade agreement. I wanted a partial agreement where Africans can trade with Africans only on goods manufactured in Africa, not imported ones as they are doing now. |
While some of these people were "fearfully made" others translated from "God's grace" to God forbid" through surgeries ![]() |
johnmattew:if you give people a yard, they will take a mile. Their govt should do the needful. Benin is the 5th or 6th largest importer of rice despite having a population of less than 10million people. These imports are smuggled into Nigeria to kill our economy. Their govt must make and enforce a commitment to stop this. |
All these are still traceable to leadership failure. If there is stable power supply and good public transport system, the effects of fuel price increase or scarcity won't be felt much. An alternative will be to board public transportation which is even cheaper if somebody can't afford fuel price increase. You won't even need generators to power homes and businesses if power is stable. These are reasons why Nigerians are so dependent on fuel- to power generator and for transportation. If govt can solve these two problems, even if govt increase fuel prices to N1,000 per litre, most Nigerians will not complain. |
johnmattew:don't pity them. Their farmers produce tomatoes and other produces. They can trade with Nigeria with these instead of importing substandard goods from asian countries to re-sell to Nigeria. They are pennywise poundfoolish. |
BRATISLAVA:all these weapons they also smuggle through our borders, do we need them to survive? Are the illegal arms already in circulation not enough? Is it only cassava grains they smuggle? Our cassava grain is enough to sustain us. We are the largest producer of cassava in the whole wide world. We don't need smuggled cassava. |
okorotalkative:exactly my point. Funny enough, it is Nigerians hiding under these disguises. It is also Nigerians pressuring these countries to demand border re-opening. These countries have already collected import duties from these importers. They won't lose anything if borders remain closed. Only importers who will be forced to sell their goods cheaply or continue pay to for warehousing that will lose. |
Since Nigeria has said " NO" in capital letters, can't these countries take their goods to other African countries? Is the African free trade not for all African countries? Egypt has an economy as big as that of Nigeria, they have large population, all these countries that keep taking advantage of Nigeria can take their goods there. Sambisa forest belongs to all Nigerians but not all Nigerians will want it as a gift even as large as it is. |
Who send am? Even Jesus Christ himself was led by the holy Spirit to fast that long. When God leads you to fast or do anything, he will sustain you. Some of these men call and lead themselves. When you call and lead yourself, you only will sustain yourself. Very unfortunate news. |
This is another bill to protect their loot and cover their corrupt tendencies. They want to be judges in their own case. They are gradually deviating from legislating to executing and managing projects which are the core duties of the executive arm of govt. That is why they are also proposing the anti-social media bill which will make people keep quiet even in the midst of obvious corruption. |
Dedetwo:what is your comment about? Did n't you read where he said it isn't a must to belong to a political party before you can run for an election in Nigeria? Does Nigeria practise independent candidacy? Which part of the electoral laws say that without a party sponsoring u, u can run an election? The guy was getting it wrong and I was educating him. |
The same polling unit where ballot boxes were hijacked . Where una for dey get this kind fake report? ![]() |
100% correct. |
Advocate500:you are irredeemable. I won't reply you again. |
Swallowurspit:an igboman has always been a candidate in the presidential elections since 1999 but they never get any votes from south east. Kingsley Moghalu was the latest example. I don't think he got up to a thousand votes from south east. Ezekwesili surrendered on time when she saw people that should be supporting her "Atikulating" |
Advocate500:democracy is a game of numbers and alliances even in the "one Nigeria" you talked about. If you have a wrong alliance, you bear the consequences. South East is the only region which has over the years alligned almost fully with PDP. South west is divided along different parties. Same with North and South-south. Also know that south east keep making mistakes that keep affecting them. South east would have had the senate presidency in the last election only if they had voted for Chris Ngige but they refused. Nobody will force anybody to vote for a political party but the person must be willing to bear the consequences if his party of choice loses. |
Very correct. Same way Wizkid is also your "younger bro" ![]() |
Dedetwo:even Ojukwu didn't get votes from his fellow south easterners. You don't understand politics. For your information, being a member of a political party is a criterion to run in an election in Nigeria. Nigeria for now doesnot practise independent candidacy. You must belong, be nominated and sponsored by a political party before you can be a candidate. |
Even though you are saying the truth, most of them will still insult you. With the kind of politics we play in Nigeria, none of the major parties will offer South east presidential ticket. Even the vp slot is difficult because supposes the south west gets the presidential slot, the north won't want to be schemed out. The leadership of NASS may not even be enough to pacify the north. They will demand also the vp slot. South south will also want a share. Except the Igbos pick and adopt a party, obviously not APC or PDP and seriously mobilise all south east behind that candidate from south east, they won't win but it will be a step in the right direction towards future elections. Their past wrong choices keep haunting them and it isn't good for democracy. |
One thing I know for sure is that PDP doesn't deserve to win an election in Bayelsa state, same way APC doesn't deserve to win in Kogi state. Osun state is another state APC never deserved winning while all south eastern states excluding Ebonyi and Anambra states are states where PDP doesn't deserve winning the smallest election. These parties have failed in all the states I mentioned. |
MountainView:do you know how much data consumed for a page you clicked on, started booting but never opens? Do u know how much data wasted for this? And it happens everytime. |
judgementyard:naaaaaaaa |
Lala would have preferred it eaten rather than being burnt. It may not make front page for this reason ![]() |
Nigerian banks and telecoms have the same characteristics, even if you don't perform any transaction with your account, your account balance can turn to zero naira due to irrelevant withdrawals by banks in the name of bank charges. The only difference is that telecoms will want you to roll over your data to another month by re-subscribing. They are all bunch of thieves. |
As an interested party in an election, any gift you give at a polling ground, no matter how generous, sympathetic or thoughtful you are, it is an inducement. So says the electoral laws. |
nairamaniac:my mtn subscription lasts a little longer than my glo. Don't forget the word I used "a little" My glo may last one week while my mtn may be one week and two days ![]() |
Some rich people are looking desperately for kids but can't find while those that can't take care of kids are getting them in excess. Such is life for you. |
nairamaniac:we know about the ram issue but how come some telecoms data bundle last more than that of others, the same gig size, browsing frequency? |
I keep saying it that the 1g we have nowadays is actually 200mb. These telecommunication companies didn't want to increase the prices of data because of outrage from Nigerians, they decided to reduce the quantity discreetly. 2g data bundle is not more than 500mb. Gone are those days when we will roll over 1g monthly suscription to the other month even after many downloads. |
Both of you are wrong. There is nothing like "corper" even though many Nigerians use the word. The correct name is "corps member". The "s" in the corps is silent. |
So just a single drug will cure all the diseases listed above? Make una dey fear God oooo. |
