My sim has started browsing again

HOLLASLYD: mtn is idiotic. those mofos cut me off this afternoon. apn connects, droidvpn doesnt, system vpn doesn't both on icmp and udp.
before this shiiit happened, I've gotten a lot of complaints from people that their vpns stopped working. tot it was a joke till it hit me.
I run windows 8 which in a way.aint too friendly with direct connections. from my windows behavior,I noticed this on friday morning and didnt think of direct surfing till yesterday night.

problem is blackberry.net is connected. I cant surf neither with vpn nor direct. if it was capped, it should say. something like this via message. (you have exhausted your 3gb blackberry data plan. text BBC to 21600 for a 3gb monthly blackberry data plan.) dont yall think that.? am by then,definitely the apn will seize to connect.

so to my conclusions, I think.mtn didnt cap the damn thing.its still unlimited but the bad news was they set the network free to be able to block the icmp,udp ports individually on our sims.
reason someone I know who has not used upto 100mb since this thing started,got blocked before me. there might be a more lucid explanations but this are my conclusions

i really don't know.. Or maybe they re having network glitches

ciphoenix: personally i've gotten 7GB+ in the past 48 hours, thats why i'm still confused. am i using up my cap? or does it only apply after you renew your subscription?

ciphoenix: from what i see, it seems for those that use the BB7.1 OS and lower and VPN, it's still unlimited but for those those with the BB10 OS and direct connection on other devices without VPN it stops working on exhaustion of the 3GB

I just got to understand d logic. It think its d best approach dey could come up with cus I just noticed that if. U susscribe for the bis dey'll give you 3gig of data ...which is surposedly ment for bb 10 users. And as you all know d bb 10 data plan will work or any device..u should also know dat if u use a regular bb the data cap does not apply to you. As I have exusted my data but can still browse with d same sim using a friends ... For those of us that uses. Droid vpn and other vpn clients the blackberry.net accesspoint will connect with your vpn. Cus its open..its no more exclusive to thE port 500 on udp anylonger. But it won't connect once u exust d data. Let's just pray we find another open port so we can continue surfing unlimitedly

use droid vpn or not it wil . Still browse... It will stop once u exust your data.....

damatolnew: just called mtn customer care to confirm your claim and they said its still unlimited, so where d hell did you got dis info from, provide us your source jor, how can it be capped without means of checking d amount you have used and amount of data remaining! Una too like to they spread rumour jare.....guess you are unemployed...if not you wont be passing dump information such as dis one!

the good part is that you can use the 3gig data on any device but for folks that use vpn service plus mtn bis this is the end . sad

hello peeps i just discovered that mtn has now put a data limit to their unlimited bis complete data plan which is now just 3gig of data it really pains me tho cus i discoverd it too late and now mine is exusted those guys wanna milk us dry

Leopantro: considering we are all Android fans in this group I have always wanted a means to have an online reservoir where we could easily transfer files and docs without using email addresses. I think I have found a way.
install google drive or dropbox on your Android phone or tablet then install SEND IT. now long tap on the file you want to send and click send by or share by then select SEND IT. it would upload the file to your online storage and send a text message to the contact with a link to where he can download it. I know this method had been around for a while but we could try it.

on another issue, it is an established fact that Android cannot connect to Ad-hoc networks. however, I have a MID cortex A-9 tablet that identifies and connects to Ad-hoc networks. how and why it does that, I don't know. is it possible to back up the ROM and isolate and extrapolate that capability to other phones? am I making sense here and is it possible?
