Politics › Re: Burkina Faso Refuses To Release Nigerian NAF C-130 Plane, 11 Soldiers by Pacesetter123(m): 11:32am On Dec 11, 2025 |
Where are those Nairaland delusional lots that were castigating SaharaReporter and accusing them of being merchant of fake news when they first break the news of the seized plane few days ago? When another statement came out thanking the government and people of Burkinafasso for their hospitality towards the officers in the seized plane and that they have fixed the plane technical issues and it's on its way to Portugal already, there was while jubilation in Nairaland by a certain unpatriotic folk claiming to be more patriotic than others who sees the truth and say it the way it is. In this thread, they have all gone into hiding |

Reference: But does Burkina have the hardware to protect it's airspace. Not many countries do and in Africa perhaps just a couple, if any. Don't forget, they are backed up by Russia Federation. So most of their military hardwares are from Russia. |

pansophist: President Xi earned his rightful place as the number one. Very accurate.
But I do not think that businessmen can be tagged “powerful”, because with a stroke of pen from politicians, all their wealth and influence can turn to zero instantly.
Just look at the multibillionaires that President Putin turned to almajiri when they crossed the line (e.g, Mikhail Khodorkovsky), and many fled Russia to go seek asylum elsewhere.
To be powerful, you need to have absolute control over a totality of institutions, and business men do not have such power. Only politicians does, such as Xi and Putin.
Billionaires are like children in their father’s mansion. They may be richer than other kids, but their father can strip them off their toy instantly.
This is why you never see Nigerian billionaires from pastors to businessmen go against politicians or criticise what’s happening. They understand that their wealth will seize and their dirty can opened, with lawsuit from everywhere that will end their empire.
Celebrities also fall inside this boat. See what they did to Michael Jackson, now it’s Pdiddy and Rkelly.
Money is not power. Money is money, and power is power. You are wrong! Business men of that hierarchy as those you saw on the list are actually very powerful. They influenced greater percentage of the world economy policies. Most of the world disruptive activities in some countries are allegedly sponsored by them. They can install and uninstalled governments. So don't underate their powers in the scheme of things in the world. |

mascot87: No, it is because those Bandits and terrorists are the brothers and friends of the North. If Benin Republic were to share boundary with the North, the northerners would have started making noise all over social media that the government have attacked there brothers and they will become very angry with the governmentand start to threaten them with 2027 election just like they didn't allow constitutional order back to Niger Republic. And then the government is intimidated by what they said and opted out to take decisive actions to protect lives and properties? |

keemsleek: Who ever remembers Liberia war will know what nigeria did has part of ecomog. I don't know if we still have ecomog? If benin President request for it ecowas will answer him. Nigeria situation is different terrorism is an internal issue and is settled internally. Nigeria has an obligation to meet with ecowas. Our monster is within us and only us can tame our monster. Did we intervene in cameroun problem no cos it's an internal affairs. The way some of you dey reasoned dey tired person. So terrorism in naija na internal affairs, election vawulence in Cameroun na internal affairs but coup plotting in Benin Republic nah im be external affairs bah? So you see any foreigners among those coup plotters? |

keymatt: I once solicited to Donald Trump's govt to send representatives to Nigeria to investigate and see the evidence of mass genocide against Christians for themselves. I'm sure many Nigerians did the same. Glad American govt is doing EXACTLY that. 👍 Nigerian regime under Tinubu may deny Christian Genocide but they can't hide the evidences.
God bless Donald Trump. God bless United States of America! But I no like as them go Benue for this matter. The Rev. Fr governor dey speak with 2 sides of him mouth. No be him dey talk de other day say nothing like Christian genocide for Benue and in Nigeria? So wetin una think say him go tell foreign investigators? I for even prefer plateau state and Kwara. At least plateau ministers of God and citizens have been more bold and vocal about the killlllingsss. So them for go there not Benue |

Dhury: So freedom of worship now means terrorizing innocent citizens in the name of tradition? This judgment ignores the security implications of hiding identities under masks. Human rights should protect the public too, not only the individual behind a masquerade. It depends on how you argue your case in court. Court case is not a football viewing center gists..oo. Every ordinary English word in court is subject to interpretation. If the prosecuting counsel based his argument on the past criminal records of few other ekpo and not the criminality of this particular one with evidence;then the defense counsel based his argument on freedom of religion. Then the case is as good as the judge adjudicated. So don't blame the judge. And besides, there no law in AKS outlawing Ekpo culture.Remember,a mere pronouncement of a governor or even president without any backing of an act of parliament is not a law. |
