Suprisingly u do have a verygood point, i think the issue here was in the way the government increased it without consultations or anything. They didnt go through the formal process. It will be good if Government can highlight a plan on proposed increases and when they are supposed to take effect. Then people won't see this as a goodbye present.

Presidency asks Ehindero to vacate I-G's residence

Meanwhile, the Presidency has directed that the official residence of the Inspector-General of Police, which was bought by Mr. Sunday Ehindero for about N400 million, following the sale of government houses, be returned to the Police since the present IG has nowhere to stay.

Sources told Vanguard that the directive was further motivated by the presence of communications equipment valued at millions of naira that were installed in the house to enable any IG resident there monitor the country as well as the performances of his officers and men.

It was gathered that government had worked out an arrangement to refund Ehindero’s money or make another building available for sale to him if he was interested.

The sources said Ehindero opted to buy the official residence of the IG after the guest house where he was staying at Aso Drive, Asokoro, as DIG Administration, was sold by the FCT Administration.

Some police officers who spoke on the development expressed shock that the former IG bought the house, asking: “What legacy would the police then have?”
