Olastep1: Seriously now,
It all starts from Me and You.
Lets even leave Politics.
How many of you here are proud of your results or admission? How many here wrote his/her Jamb without looking left and right? How many here wrote his/her Post-Utme without asking or giving out answers from those beside you? How many here can boldly say he/she didnt whisper to somebody in his Jamb/Putme exam hall?
I know your consience is hurting you! Likewise, i'm not judging you.
Please be sincere. Its not good. What is not good is not good. Have a change of heart today and tomorrow we all will be proud of each other.
Good Morning Oga and Ogases simple. |

I think the school of thought that have come to the juncture of the need for CHANGE is so many that we hardly see or hear of people's clamour for EFFECTIVE CHANGE.
CHANGE is a six-lettered word easily pronounced from the gnashing of the teeth (If you know what I mean) and those at the helm of affairs that are expected to govern with the motive for the needed change have saddled themselves with the responsibility of power tussles motivated for personal interet as against the national interest.
This generation of leaders are too corrupt to motivate a youthful mind to the right path knowing the youths are the instrument in politicking of elections. The Nigeria we find ourselves today has been the one that redefine the visions of the youths, some rightfully and some the other way round.
Let's hope we will have that much desired 2Rs leaders (Responsible and responsive) as against the one Rs we've been having.
I can do nothing but acknowledge the verisimilitude of Confucius' thought which opined that "to put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put family in order, we must cultivate our personal lives and set our hearts right" as well noted by Phtemie while citing Mahatma You is the change you can effectively see.
Howdy house? |

Olastep1: in short, tell me where in the world Revolution has worked? Its as if you've not seen blood! You just think we'l all proceed to Aso rock and the President and the military will shake our hands. Infact, your so-called Revolution wil be hijacked by 'opportune' politicians. I once hope you should be realistic. Moreover, i stand by my Earlier solution and yours. But i reject in its entirelity the revolution aspect. So, you're telling me Revolution wil solve all the problems of Nigeria? How about the corrupt Judges? The crooked Traders? How many people do you wanna kill?
Enough blood has been Split, my friend You could rightly note what I said about revolution not necessarily be violent. I was not talking about protest or something of such. I pinpointed the change in mentality and thoughts about having a conscious national belongingness which endears all sundry in making decisions in the best interest of the state by being JUST as against having ethnic/religious/class consciousness. I furthered the release of the steam by noting the need for proper reorientation as to what an average Nigerian's mindset should be about governance. You've rightly mentioned the major change needed in all spheres of government institution be it Judicial system who are to enable effective and unbias Judicial system where no decision is waved in favour of one class over the other but things are well analysed and justified the way they supposed to be. All public servants should embark on proper accountability to curb the social vices that has gone viral in the system. That's the shift we need, that's the revolution. A local government should hold the chairman responsible for all his action and should be made to face the heat if involved in any maladministrative measures and so be it at other levels of government. The sensitiveness/awareness is important that no class will be left out between the literates and the illiterates. It's not all about taking to the street because of Jonathan. |

Olastep1: MY INDEPENDENCE MESSAGE!
Yes, Nigeria is 53!
You are not defeated when you lose, You are only defeated when you quit.
At this period of our 53rd year anniversary, I refuse to join the bandwagon to give a vote of no confidence on Mr. President or on Nigeria as a whole. Reading through most posts on fb, twitter, and many other websites, i stand to say morally, Nigerians have all failed Nigeria. This is Nigeria. Sadly enough, i see some posts comparing Nigeria with USA, UK and other western economies. Though, I must admit that Nigeria isn't at its best but i must say Rome wasn't built in a day. Until we all work for its good, nothing worthwhile can never come forth. Stop blaming the Federal Governments! Start with your Ward chairman and your Local Government Chairman. Is your State Governor performing above board or just mouthwashing contractors. Are we getting the needed democrazy at the grassroots? Lets stop decieving ourselves. What has the likes of the tongue wagging politicians like Buhari, El rufai, Tinubu, Atiku and other oppositions done in their own simple way to improve the economic well being of the nation. Which one of them have sponsored a good policy through the parliament? When have they come out to appreciate a policy of government and make reasonable input towards making it work? All the want is Power; though they were dreaded enemies to each other some couples of months ago. How will that coalition affect an average Nigeria? No wonder, the most violent states(Borno and Yobe) are being ruled by their 'handpicked' governors!. Instead, they keep abusing and blaming the President for a fracas that happened in a House of Assembly. Listen to me. Yes there are things this administration have not done well but we can't say nothing have been done at all. If we say he hasn't done anything, who can come and do something? Who does the cap really fit? Is it Buhari, Tinubu, Atiku or other oppositions. All these oppositions were they not the same people who has brought us into this place we are? I believe more has to be done in the area of corruption. I dont believe in a Revolution as some small minds do say. Egypt did theirs but look at what is happening now. Those even killed and murdered after the revolution are more than those killed in the spirit of Revolution. Moreover, it cant happen now when Nigerians aren't sincere to one another.
The only solution I foresee is holding every elected politician accountable for his/her actions and creating an effective Judicial system whereby strict laws are observed without fear or favour.
If we keep rubishing other Nigerians and Nigeria on the Internet, it isnt doing us any good. Not at all. At least, i dont think we're that bad as some people will want me to believe.
Soon the Economy will Blossom.
God bless Mr. President Ebele Jonathan. God bless the people of Nigeria. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Happy 53rd Anniversary!!!!!!
———Olastep™ nice points though, albeit a vulgar ditch at minds of revolutionary thoughts which makes me to question your stand on what revolution entails. People here and there are of the mind that revolution is a violence act which shouldn't be indulged into while great minds see revolution as the yardstick to steer the handle of governance back to normalcy according to the carrot and stick approach. You've rightly accounted for the cause of dubitability of revolution and to add to that Nigeria is a setting clouded with ethnic/religious/class consciousness which have been the bane of being JUST in this setting of ours called Nigeria. We need a change in mentality and thoughts as Nigerians and proper reorientation should be done on what governance really entail and what are required of any citizen. We can always do better. #ReformistMjay. |

Mikkie31: Becareful when you make decisions. You should be sure you have what it takes to see it through and be very ready to take responsibility of your actions. Do not only think of how well it will søothe you,but also of the things you stand to loose if it does not work out as you have planned. Observe,re-observe,scrutinize and make a 'go' for it. and a reasonable measure be set in case of any contingency would make the ACTIONs flaw free |
