PoliticsFG Adds 700MW Zungeru Hydropower To National Grid by Parachoko(op): 10:23am On May 28, 2023
The Federal Government has connected the 700 megawatts Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Plant to the national grid, giving a boost to Nigeria’s power generation.

Zungeru Hydroelectric Power, located in Niger State, is a 700MW capacity plant and Nigeria’s second-largest hydroelectricity power station, behind the Kainji Hydroelectric Power Plant, which has a capacity of 760MW.

The Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, announced the connection of the plant to the grid during a send-forth ceremony organised by power sector officials for him, and the Minister of State for Power, Goddy Jedy-Agba, on Thursday night in Abuja.

“I want to say that today (Thursday) the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Plant has become a reality. We have today joined the grid with 700MW. The testing started last night and information has reached us, with a pictorial view of the meters showing that the 700MW has gone on the grid.

“Recall that the last two weeks we were there together with members of the National Assembly, including the Chairman, Senate Committee on Power. We all visited the site and we are now putting power on the grid,” Aliyu said.

He also said the Kashimbila hydropower, a joint project between the federal ministries of power and water resources, had also been completed.

Commenting on the Siemens electricity project for Nigeria, under the Presidential Power Initiative, Aliyu stated that the programme was still ongoing.

He added, “As soon as I became the power minister, we met the President of Siemens, and had a discussion with them to bring in equipment. As I am talking to you now, we have installed some transformers and they are in service.

“We are installing one in Ajah, Lagos, and we have just brought in the mobile substation, which is very massive, about 10 of them, being cleared at the ports. The first one has been cleared and is already in Ajah substation.”

Timaya and Co’s acceptance to perform at Tinubu’s event yesterday clearly reiterated the already known fact, that in this country, we all, I mean we all are hypocrites. Forget all this rubbish we form online and the Mr. and Mrs. Integrity and justice that we pose as here. Hypocrites! All of us! We just never see an opportunity.

I’m sure this same Timaya was part of the people that condemned the Lekki massacre last three years, he was definitely part of the celebrities that pretended to be against Buhari’s policies, and probably one of the people that reposted that “ELU P 71” Video, but yesterday, same Timaya was jumping and shouting “As E dey sweet us, naso E dem pain dem’ at Tinubu’s event. The same Tinubu we all said we didn’t like and didn’t vote for. This time around, nah us E dey pain. Nah Tinubu E dey sweet, and of course, Timaya account’s balance.
Show me an evidence Timaya blame Asiwaju for the Lekki Shooting

Ooni:
The case can go both ways as the issue of locus standi has never been decided at the supreme court. Zamfara case was thrown out over technicalities of originating summon. Also, Ebonyi case was dismissed because petition was filed out of time.
Two occasions can warrant voiding of candidature. Nomination from two parties and nomination for more than one constituency. I doubt if someone can be off the hook for being nominated for more than one constituency on the ground that the petitioner is not an aspirant of the party.
In case you have not heard about it

https://www.nairaland.com/7703549/supreme-court-dismisses-pdps-suit

The PDP do not have the Locus Standi to pokenose in APC internal party affair

The Tribunal will also rule in favour of Asiwaju and the APC in the issue of double nomination.

OK, so for me, the lesson in this case is that, if, assuming, a husband kills his wife and the family of the wife refuses to take the case to court, it means that outsider can not take the case to court to seek justice. Is this the precedence the Supreme Court is setting?
You're an Obidient right?
