PhonesRe: Naija Smartphonomics: The Economics Of Buying A Smart Phone In Nigeria by parrotibaba(m): 4:56pm On Sep 29, 2014
so many peeps on this thread r getting everything twisted... if u hv d capacity to buy an iPhone 6 or a Samsung galaxy s5,den go ahead n buy it, after all its ur money...but what op is trying to demystify is this; don't buy a smartphone dat will eclipse ur bank account only to start begging for food, cash or clothes, dats idiotic! there is no point buying a phone of N120k n in ur account u hv only N130k n u say to urself " its my money, I don't care what ppl say or think"...

...and I saw some comments here trying to defend d spending of such amount of cash on a phone cos it brings quality blah blah blah... ur iPhone 6 could be stolen dat day u bought it or worst still fall n d screen cracks...how does it relate to d cash u spent on it? whereas someone with a low cost smartphone could also suffer d same fate as u hv...some. comments here r also of d opinion dat if u use a 100k phone u should hv a Cadillac to go by it,dats a lie too,cos u can decide to use d public transport system, n I think dats why it's public………so bottom line is dis,go for what u want but mk sure u hv enough arsenal in ur bank account to see u through d wars of life...in as much as we as humans hv insatiable wants,we r being limited to a few cos of factors like our spending power...
so In summary, spend according to ur pocket in other to avoid a tsunami of chaos in ur life...#peace

PhonesRe: Naija Smartphonomics: The Economics Of Buying A Smart Phone In Nigeria by parrotibaba(m): 8:23pm On Sep 28, 2014
its simple... what d op is trying to say is "cut your coat according to ur size" ...u can buy as many as u like but mk sure dat u can still sustain yourself whilst doing so...not when u r struggling for T. fare,handouts/textbooks cash n food,u will go n buy d new iPhone 6 just cos ur O.B.O of a friend bought it...
TravelRe: On Nigerians And The 'must Travel Mentality' by parrotibaba(m): 9:14pm On Sep 27, 2014
This is a black or white situation... take a look at dis country, what do u see? ,poverty everywhere, u think all dos kids grabbing ur hand(s) n begging u for money do dis for d fun of it? yes dia r homeless ppl abroad, but d fact still remains, de r better Dan d homeless ppl here,de hv access to health in case de fall sick but can d same be said of dos here ? abso-fvcking-lutely NOT!! As a student, u r entitled to some cash as u school so as to enable u to hold urself if eventually u come out n u don't get a job quickly... In countries like d USA or in Europe, dia r jobs aplenty dere even for d certificate-less peeps here, its not all about going dere to be a doctor, nurse, banker or making millions ,its about going to a place dat caters for d need of its ppl... a few months ago I heard d minister of finance, Mrs Ngozi okonji-iwuala,talking about unemployment in Nigeria n population affects its level n she made mention of d likes of Brazil n India as country suffering d same fate as us cos of population n I was like "how can we tackle unemployment in dis country when we don't even hv constant electricity, lack of quality health care n security? eh?" how can we control d population explosion dat is threatening our existence when a man, knowing fully well dat he doesn't hv d capacity to tk good care of himself, talk more of his family, goes ahead n marries 4 wives who then delivers up to 14 kids? dis is wat a country who cares about its citizens should be thinking of not how to win d next election n continue looting d country's cash... d problem is dat we as a ppl r not serious yet,we r still tribalistic ,we vote in illiterates ,criminals, n devious beings as our leaders all in d name of tribalism... so with all dis happening n with d dreams of d youth slowly dying away, why d hell will I advice a peep struggling here not to go abroad if he gets d chance? when all our leaders go dia all d time? ...d black n white situation here is dat whilst am comfortable here in Nigeria, do not expect every other person to feel d same way...
TravelRe: On Nigerians And The 'must Travel Mentality' by parrotibaba(m): 8:09pm On Sep 27, 2014
safarigirl: which politician spoilt Nigeria? It's foolish Nigerians that spoilt and are still spoiling Nigeria.

You should all be ashamed that less than 3% of Nigerians have put 97% of us in bondage. Really, it's pathetic.

Look at this 4,000 NYSC payment, do you realise if everyone agrees not to pay a dime, they'll cancel that thing? But no, Nigerians can sabotage themselves, a bunch of eediots will go and pay and the rest will have to follow suuite.

When that immigration stampede happened, there were enough people in the Abuja centre to march to aso rock and begin a revolution, but what happened? They all went home and thanked God they were alive to go on another job search tomorrow.

A courageous journalist exposed TB Joshua's condemnable act of bribery and Nigerians condemned the fellow and made shameful, eediotic excuses for the TB Joshua fellow, in a sane country, that man ought to be in jail facing murder and man-slaughter charges, not getting condolences from your president

The problem with Nigeria is it's people, the same people that want to run away and reap where they didn't sow- enjoy the benefits of good governance where the people demanded it, and until you all demand good governance, you'll continue to wallow in your self-pity and run away.

Like Mandela said "the leaders are a reflection of their people"
chai!!! dis gal u v said it all! grin nothing more nothing less
