Hello People, is it a requirement to declare funds above 10000 USD when travelling abroad from a Nigerian airport? Kindly help by clarifying this. Thank you

You can just go ahead with the vacation application and declare when you get here. It all actually depends on you. You can also attach your pregnancy documents with proof of enough money to cover your stay and birthing and choose "others" in the purpose of visit.

Can't she write the embassy and declare her intention to give birth? Just asking because i am struggling to decide on what to do in this situation. What do you advise?

Yes the 5000 cad covers the doctor fee, prenatal and post natal check up and baby.

Most likely reason might be difference between how long she said she would stay in the US when she applied vs how long she ended up staying. Plus hopefully your sister who she accompanied isn't flagged on thier system.

She should be ready to answer truthfully about what she was doing on the 9week period.

Truthfully would mean her saying that she accompanied an elder sister for birth process. The sister in question had used her visiting visa for child birth and never informed the embassy. She just renewed last 2weeks through drop box without a hindrance. Would her stating these facts not affect our sister's visa? Just asking as things seem dicey now. Comments and contributions are welcome.

My sister had a 2 year visitor visa and used it once and stayed for 9 weeks. She accompanied my elder sister who went to deliver a baby on a visitor visa too. Now, her visa has expired and she tried renewing through drop box but was asked to go schedule an interview. Any ideas why and what plausible questions she could be asked? Plausible answers to the questions will also be appreciated.

It's not like an appeal, but i heard if for family visa you can appeal, my own case was treated wrongly... I wasn't even sent a proper refusal letter, just based on the fact that I have a strong tie in Canada, and I don't! So me writing to them to revisit my case could turn out well,if checked by the right person...NEVER say never! Everything is possible if only you believe and I believe

From personal experience , instead of you writing them, , put up another application and in your letter, highlight all these areas. I think that if your letter is focus enough, they wld give you. From what u have put up here, your documents are solid enough to be granted a visa

I thank God almighty for knowledge, wisdom in handling this case.To Him be all the glory. I remembered receiving unsolicited and unwarranted response from @kirikiri100 after my post. Despite the rantings by @Kirikiri100 whose behaviour clearly depicts his name, i was undetered.
I thank @Devaughn and @tripplebabygirl who made positive contributions. Am here to encourage people particularly, someone who had posted a case similar to mine sometime ago on this thread.
After my post here, i had put up a letter and sent it to the embassy in lagos, Accra and Abuja. I was informed that my application was handled in Lagos. After about a week, i got a call from the embassy stating that they have reviewed my letter,application and couldnt understand why visas were not affixed on my passport and that of my son. I was asked to bring my passport to the embassy.This i have done and 2yrs visas were issued to Us.Thanks for all the encouragement guys. People need to study the rules, procedures and guidelines on the cic website as i used that too in supporting my letter.In all, it was God.

I appreciate everyone here. I.have learnt a lot and this has guided my application. Applied with my family on 7th July and on 20th Sept, i got a mail to pick up our passports.
Upon receipt of our passports,my people, this is the situation i found myself. I applied for a TRV with my wife and son but shockingly, myself and my son were denied while my wife was granted 2yrs. Interestingly, there was no letter stating the grounds for my refusal likewise that of my son(4 yrs old). This is curious and shocking? Doesn’t this look like an error because every denial must come with a letter stating the basis of refusal. Mine nor my son did not come back with any letter. It was just my passport and my receipt. Note that I was the principal applicant and all funds were in my account. My wife didn’t even submit her bank statement or pay slips. My people, kindly analyse this and advise on the way forward.Who can explain this to me as I can’t phantom the reasoning behind the action of Canadian High Commission.What next can i do?

Hello everyone, I intend to submit a TRV application soon with my family. I am the sole sponsor and while filling the form, there is a question on funds available for the trip. Since I had stated the funds available in my own application form, should I repeat same amount on my wife's application? I need guidance here. Hello guys, just to update on my travails in the hands of these French embassy guys. I had made previous posts on how i applied for a french visa and i was refused on flimsy excuses. I set out to appeal only to get a response written in (FRENCH)that since my Appeal wasnt written in French, my Appeal has been refused. I am so shocked that foreign countries can continue to take Nigerians for a ride. No way in their form which contained their basis for refusal was it stated that my Appeal should be written in French Language. Isnt this the act of changing the goalpost at the middle of the game?I had produced evidence to buttress the point that the ECO erred by refusing my Visa application and since they could not defend themselves and their reasons, they brought up this unscrupulous reasons of my application not being written in French in Accordance with Section D 211-6 OF C.E.S.E.D.A. Kindly note that this was never mentioned in their form when i was refused the Visa initially.Guys, look before you leap. French embassy has become a rip off. They are devising ways to cheat, rip off Nigerians and the unfortunate thing is that they get away with these things and our government does nothing to help the unprotected Nigerians who bear the brunt of the activities of these merchants at the embassy. Check out for other Shenghen Countries if you need a Visa.France is a no no for me.I have taken my fate with stride, am not desperate, another will come at Gods time.

divine2043: Yeah, am gonna have to go with Nelly on this. There are loads of incentives in France. I would not go into comparing but from personal experiences around Europe, France is up there. The only thing is the language.

As for the appeal vs reapply, I maintain that if you really have got every document, send the email like I advised. I went through that route and got the visa.

Reapplication or appeal is up to you.

So just to share my experience with people planning to visit France or planning to invite people over to visit them. My babe applied for French VISA (Schengen)to visit me in France. She handed in her application last month and got a response after one week - rejected. Two reasons were given - (stuff to do with them not being satisfied with the reasons for the visit and not being sure she would return to Nigeria at the end of her visit). I work in France basically. After contesting the rejection (via letters), she was called to return to the consulate in Lagos collect her visa.

Documents Presented:
1. 1 color passport photograph (go with 2 sets just in case)
2. international passport ( make 2 copies of passport data page)
3. Proof of Employment - (make a copy)
4. Employment Letter (go with a photocopy)
5. ID card (go with a photocopy)
6. Bank statement (go with photocopies)
7. Pay slips - last 3 months (go with photocopies)
8. Rent receipt
9. C of O and receipt of payment
10. Host's pay slips
11. Host's bank statements
12. Letters of introduction in French (if possible)
13. letter of introduction
14. Reservation tickets (flight and train)
15. Prof of accommodation - Attestation d'accueil
16. Medical Insurance
17. Medical Insurance from europe alternatively
18. Host's passport page - you need to print out the one I sent you by mail (new and old)

Na wa ohh, i have sat down to study your post and i began to wonder whether this france embassy actually does due diligence on application. I had applied in March to spend my annual leave in France. I was denied and the 2 reasons given to your babe were what i was given.I got a letter from my solicitor who adrressed the two issues with relevant and sufficient evidence and i reapplied in May only to be denied and given the same two reasons.I had attached the following :-

I am at a loss as to why i can be denied twice. I earn a decent wage and it would be absolute madness for me to want to go stay in fance as a illegal immigrant with no real lifelihood at my stage in life. I had sent in my appeal sha and if there are other avenues to explore, guys kindly let me know.In Conclusion, i think these embassy guys just look at other crazy things other than what someone submits. How can people comment that a party suspending a legislator means he is suspended from the house. People should comment with an element of intelligence. Guys, I have a similar issue. Had overstayed for 1yr 9months and used a fresh passport when coming back. I was fingerprinted at gatwick as I told immigration that my previous passport was lost and I had to get a new onw to travel at my cost. Came back to nigeria and reapplied. I had added my initial passport to my visa application which I had gotten it stamped here in lagos but didn't add the passport I returned with when re-applying. They refused me, banned me for one year and asked me what happened to the passport I came back with and how come my previous passport that I declared missing has resurfaced in nigeria with an entry stamp on it. I was at a loss as to how to answer those questions. I was banned for one year and at the end of the ban period, I reapplied again and I was refused with the same reasons as to what happened to my previous passports and the entry stamp which I haven't till date been able to explain out. I need solutions to my dilemma now. Who has solutions for me now as I need a british visa asap now. Who knows a strong and influential immigration attorney that can handle this case? I need referrals pls. Someone shd kindly help. Thanl you and expecting to hear your opinions.
