Education / Re: Msc In Germany by pateuropa(m): 5:26pm On Oct 09, 2011
You have two options; either you go to a court in Nigeria to notarize your documents or simply go to the German embassy in Lagos to do that ( but you must go with correspondence from the universities which you applied).

If i were you i would just use the court in Nigeria which would save you money and other modalities.

So its up to you- either use the courts in Nigeria or go to the German embassy.

Religion / Re: Why Africans Are Religious by pateuropa(m): 10:53pm On Sep 19, 2011
@anvaller

The point i tried to debunk is you believing that clinging to a religious group or church would moderate your behaviour or give your life a meaning-

Several factors determine the way or level in which you relate to your freedom. No human society can boast of  a 100%% sane generation. There would continually be drug peddlers, prostitutes and other social miscreants or misfits. Your position is supported with generalizations- tatoo, piercings and all that! And in no way am i comparing nigeria to a western nation. My point there was we have tugs, social miscreants in nigeria also who live without indoctrination or conditioning.

SO back to my point a social miscreant chooses his way or a person that believes he must pierce himself to look cool has choosen to do that on his/her own will or maybe influenced by what is in vogue. But how many of the so called pierced people do have a high social class? or maybe educated to a higher level.

So if people pierce or have tatoo- it simply is their choice and you might want to read about the art of tatooing and piercing-how it came about. In human development and history- there are always social and art benchmarks as well as technological benchmarks. Of which breast surgery -all forms of surgery, tatoo all fall under.

And about been pyschologically looking for a way by western individuals- havent u heard human needs are insatiable- decadence is in every society and that does not mean you mixing up with different people (with good or bad behaviour) in Europe can be generalized as every white man in Europe is crazy or morally decadent. So do not use the behaviour of a particular people or your firsthand interaction to judge everyone.

The same goes for the nigerian name branded as 419- still u find sane and respectable people from Nigeria. So once again i find it hard to believe that you would generalize.

I also have moved with people from Denmark and other parts of Europe- and there would always be social misfits or miscreants. But my point is you should not use the actions of a few to judge the entire people.

YOu are free to believe their are demons controlling people with tatoos or demons are overseeing affairs in Europe. I dont bloody care- as i said an average nigerian would explain everything in a spiritual way.

I have an example here- there is a bar close to where i live called LUZIFER- if a nigerian sees it - the first thing that comes to his/her mind is that the devil entirely rules that area. But thats because the soul-mind is conditioned to believe anything like drinking or an unholy name is devilish.

So i believe in facts and prove. Ask yourself how many people do you work with have piercingsor tatoo or have tatoos and are demonized. The answer is you come from a community or society where things are craved with every religiousity-so borrowing from that experience- you dont need to call everyone in Europe demonized or devilished because of what they have on their body. Once again free will- ability to choose what you want and face any consequence is important instead of been teleguided or programmed or conditioned.

Once again you can choose what to believe and who to relate with but do not generalize based on experiences with low class or any other people with different status. I studied here in Germany and have seen a lot -so my experiences are first class and i do not generalize that the white man ways are wayward or does not work.

No system of training or upbringing can be 100percent effective .The only way is to choose from bad or good. And that is where free will comes from. So man----stop the generalization. During my study i met and went out with several white guys and ladies- well educated and they are rational in thinking and know what they are doing.

We could engage in exchange of words here but the truth remains you are entitled to believe that the devil or satan lives in Europe while God lives in Nigeria. lol
Religion / Re: Why Africans Are Religious by pateuropa(m): 9:28pm On Sep 19, 2011
@anvaller- that a white chick decided to go prostituting does not add up to the fact she needs a conditioning or emotional juicy preaching to regulate her behaviour- she saw simply prostitution as a way of life and followed without been compelled. Thats one thing about free will-----so who tells you even though in naija people are more religious we do not have social decadence.

Religion does only have the function of generating spirals of doctrines patterned after individual idiosyncracy rather than biblical doctrines.

Every church in nigeria for instance has its own rules -doctrines to which the individual is conditioned. There is a difference between conditioning and indoctrination. <For instance - some religious worshippers in nigeria believe if you fornicate -you would not prosper or go forward in life- that could be simply conditioning- packaged with fear and optimal belief system that if you do have sex you would be an outcast in the church society or church world- and most followers rarely try it to disbunk the indoctrination behind the belief.

Smoking hemp or anything has nothing to do with religion. I could be religious and still smoke behind the doors -with no one catching me- so free will is important rather than been cornered or indoctrinated not to do- the secret to real freedom is doing or trying it out! I mean not like the way conservative preachers in nigeria preach with fear and condemnation wrapped around the package of total submission.

I think you yourself despite leaving in Netherlands still hold to the belief. Tatoo or piercings does not determine who you would be or where you would be- It simply is a free will decision and those who do the tatoo or piercing have reasons just like people who visit churches in nigeria or those who still practice traditional religion.

So your question of morality or been chaste is useless. And what the hell is satanic in tatoo or piercing-do people with them behave rationally or are they demon possessed.

You live in a free society- open your eyes and wake up from the conditioning and indoctrination or stories of yemoja and demons you had in Africa.-.lol
Religion / Re: Why Africans Are Religious by pateuropa(m): 9:02pm On Sep 19, 2011
lol.Indeed true! Many people in Nigeria can not believe this and would label you outrightly as blaphameous or sinner.

I was born into a catholic family-with no strict religious indoctrination until my family changed to a pentecostal church which i wont mention. The change came when i was in between 9-12yrs old. From early 90s came the spell of pentecostalism which i see as nonsense.  Religious leaders usurp the rights of people with indoctrination and fear. Common sense is out of the question -even people with degrees bow to the so called charismatic leaders and baba, mama or daddy as they are called.

First point, before colonialism all we had were traditional religions which the European tagged as a sin and crime. Our forefathers then bowed to the new doctrine and religion through force and craftiness. Sooner or later -due to poverty and instability - people started believing in churches and not the system. Imagine if Naija dey play football or anything people even resolve to praying- which is illogical. God or whatever has nothing to do with football, if he has i guess we would have bagged medals and cups.

So the crux of the whole indoctrination by churches in Nigeria- is a simple equation of fear+ignorance+emotional mind play+power= indoctrination.

For instance a man with no job or struggling would one day receive a sweet coated mouthed preacher by his door - the next thing is an emotional play of words- the man maybe does not receive the message at first. But due to environmental craze almost everyone falling for the emotional play- he looks around ok, if Baba Asa received this thing and he now lives a better life- he is prosperous or ok. I would. From there starts a new introduction to another society. A society which preaches that demons and devils would hunt u if you commit sin or do something irrationally. At the end of the day the individual is emerged in doctrines and beliefs that are irrational.

For instance where does it stay in the so called bible that there are blood sucking demons? Through media works(videos, books, gossips) and literatures - the average man believes that any accident on the way his due to the devil, lol (what is the condition of our roads in nigeria- in what state of mind was the driver while driving) or other factors are not considered. All seems to go the religious way.

Those who have not travelled out of the country or are born into this beliefs and doctrines  see only one world . if you have lived in europe or America- you know people hardly go to church. Many care about only social functions and activities than one cock bull miracle bullshit. Religious people reading this would think what a nonsense. But then if people who introduced the religion no longer care about it- why does a man enslaved, indoctrinated believes he even knows better than his masters.

All we have in Nigeria is borrowed- from the name nigeria-to the language and religion are all borrowed. So why think we know more than the people where the religion originated. Of course some crazy and indoctrinated fellow might start quoting we are at the end of the world. Of which i reply there is nothing rational about the so called doctrines and divisions in Nigeria borrowed religion. My perspective is religion is a weapon of oppression and domination- a means to which people get power, money which in ordinary society they would never have heard. The so called calls to ministry from oyedepo, kumuyi, adeboye and co- ask your self what were they doing before-some lecturers in universities but now they have much power-followership and respect than a common politician.

So if your senses are wide awake and still logical instead of been rolled deep in religious nonsense- you see that religion is a means to an end. So many churches, mosques and yet corruption and underdevelopment. The answers to Nigerian problem surely does not stand in religious indoctrination.

So a man living a borrowed language +religion+ political legacy= total indoctrination with no base to think at all.

I live in Europe- no one cares here about religion here as opposed to Nigerians who simply generalize because they saw some religious programs on cable tv or internet. I laugh at times ---i rarely see anyone doing night vigil here or crusades - this is because simply the priorities are different. YOu work ur ass of here to make a living not spend 255 days of the year in the church thinking manna would fall from heaven.

So to the guy who started the thread you are simply right- Africans need to rethink their course and stop been deceived by the new colonialism offered by religion and sweet talkers. Like it started before- the Europeans invaded with force-used religion to sedate and conquer and did exploit- so is the new situation with many pentecostal churches who boast of mega rich money and status at the expense of their humble followers- so it was during colonialism. Welcome to the new colonialism or Religious Kolomentality .

Well sorry- but the tone of your reply was more like dont spoil my business than enlightening, lol, actually the first google search i made and some wikipedia nonsense led me to believing its in Turkey. Endeavor to be polite next time!

The domain name (.edu.tr) was misleading but goes to show the proximity of the so called University to Turkish border and the cultural similarities.

Anyway for people desperate to travel abroad and who dont enough money grin - it might be a good deal. That is my personal opinion.

Such things as accreditation or the ECTS rules in Europe are missing. I wonder if the university is more American than it is European. lol

I still stand to be corrected, but looking through the graduate regulations the university is far from the European Academic regulation.

That is my opinion as a graduate from an European University and at least i cited one or two reasons for my stand.
No qualms- not spoiling ur show, just telling you what i noticed.
Education / Re: Speed Admission: Study Abroad Opportunity! by pateuropa(m): 1:49pm On Sep 01, 2011
Hmm- I would say watch out before you get carried away by European University. The university apparently is located in Turkey. Turkey is not part of the European Union yet and it is outrightly not an European country per se (lets leave the European politics behind their accession).

Studying in Turkey might be cheaper but i would offer a word of advice-do your research before jumping. YOu wont be in anyway going to study in Cyprus. And Cyprus though an European Union state does not boast of many universities,

All depends on your choice.

Education / Re: Schooling Abroad: Is It Only Meant 4 D Rich? by pateuropa(m): 9:30pm On Aug 23, 2011
The GPA is crucial but when talking about Erasmus Mundus .-It is highly competitive so the field of study , the number of applicants, qualifications, results, experience ,quotas awarded to a particular region or continent and other parameters might be used in making judgement.

It's nice however that tanimola revealed that- but if you go by looking for scholarships; you might be frustrated at the end of the day.

My advice is not to put your eggs only in the basket of scholarships. You can study in European countries but it cost some amount of money and dilligence.

Education / Re: Finland Tuition Free University by pateuropa(m): 1:21pm On Aug 10, 2011
Lol. i laugh at times - the way people talk about studying in Europe and its modalities as if its so simple-like" get a bank account of 1.2million"lol. Times have changed- and different European countries have different rules- you might be asked to transfer such amount into a blocked account in your country of destination---and the minimum amount required by month depends on the region in which u are studying. The minimum is 700 euros per month which may vary according to regions.

Misinformed= no admission and no way to study in Europe.

Sure you would be asked to supply a proof of financial means for sustaining yourself and ur study. But at first dont jump the gun.

Look at institutions in Finland, know the admission requirements and application deadline . Get your documents ready and send at the right time. Consult the universities webpage at first instead of running to do TOEFL or other test.

Well if you need more information- and if you want to do a thorough search of institutions in finland - go to www.studyabroadinternationalstudents.com

go to the study abroad search resource

there you need to select the continent and then the specific country.

Do your research well before you get bounced out of the embassy or you do not get any admission at all.

Desperation leads to turning to people who would only collect your money and laught at you. Studying abroad takes personal research and consideration

Educational Services / Re: Quality Education In Ukraine At An Affordable Rate For Nigerians by pateuropa(m): 1:02pm On Aug 10, 2011
Be not fooled by the guy writing this post- or else you go to Ukraine and suffer. For instance, his example of going to EU countries to work. My question is how do you get the visa?- since nigerian passport is worthless( the value is streamlined to begging for visa everywhere).

Next question is even if you do get a visa( what is the category of your visa)? - when you come in under a tourist visa- you are not allowed to work. You only work in EU countries if you have a permanent residence there or you are a student ,studying in one of the universities ( and with this your working hours are limited).

I do not know much about Ukraine (as a CIS country not an EU member). But the truth must be said- agent or no agent if you are desperate in leaving Nigeria- do your homework well. Ukraine is a developing country with many challenges like Nigeria- why would you really wanna go and sit down there!

If you wanna escape the psychological trauma or hypes you have heard about certain countries- please do your homework well.

Education / Re: Kindly Advice Me! Is Toefl Better Of Ielts ? by pateuropa(m): 8:12am On Aug 08, 2011
Hey dude- do not compare WAEC/NECO to GRE or GMAT. GMAT/GRE are for graduate students-by that i mean students having their first degree and aiming to further their studies with a Masters degree or doctoral degree.

So the main difference between GRE and GMAT - is that GMAT is mainly required from students in the field of management or some other fields- but GRE is mostly required by graduate schools.

GRE contains four sections:  verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical skills. Although the GRE also has eight different other subject tests. GRE is also a computer based test.

GMAT on the other hand contains just three sections: the analytical writing assessment, quantitative and verbal. As i said earlier its mostly required from students in the field of management studies.

If you are studying in the UK- these test are not mostly required- except you apply to elite universities. So an IELTS test is one of the basic requirements for a study in the UK.

Best of luck.

Education / Re: Kindly Advice Me! Is Toefl Better Of Ielts ? by pateuropa(m): 7:16pm On Aug 07, 2011
For the UK - IELTS is the standard English Test while for America its mostly TOEFL.

For admission to the US- depending on your field of study- the GRE would be required especially for those studying at the graduate degree level.

For management studies, financial or science - GMAT is required. But the most crucial step is checking the university website.

Education / Re: Europe Acedemy, Poland Is Admitting Without Stress! by pateuropa(m): 9:48am On Aug 06, 2011
LoL-LMAO-- admitting without stress but you are in deep shit when you study there. Why do people feed on the desperation of others to study abroad to profit.

First , the language- and then Poland is in the European Union but its more or less like a developing country. Maybe the ignorance of many Nigerians as to what obtains in those country is why they fall and run to all these crappy agents.

Poland borders Germany and as such many Polish people run from dem country to Germany. In there country they get paid less than 2 euros per hour for certain jobs(mainly odd jobs), whereas in Germany the mininum rate is 6euros per hour. Just imagine!

So compare the living standard of a developing and developed economy and think straight. The questions for those falling for all these crappy adverts-

Are you gonna get a job without language proficiency in those countries(poland , russia, ukraine)?

How much would you even be paid if you were lucky to get a job without speaking the language?

Are you allowed as a student to work there and how many hours?

If you have not travelled overseas nor have a trustful person willing to share with you- better stay back at home rather than study in Poland and get psychologically abused by what you would face.

If you are following the hype of Ikechuwku, Bode, Niyi, Taye went abroad and came back with big money- ask them what jobs are they doing abroad? How do they make there money---probably some borrowed the money overseas and come home and made father christmas.

And all thats in your brain is that oh--->Europe na paradise or wonderland. Wake up Ignoramus,

Education / Re: Nigerians Scammed By Asians In Ukraine. by pateuropa(m): 9:35am On Aug 06, 2011
I wonder why people would go and study in Ukraine- a developing country for that matter. I live in Germany and many Ukranians and Russians are begging to come to the EU( many of them even live in Germany and other European countries-running from dem country) .

Note- maybe cos of ignorance people think the Ukraine or Russia are members of the European Union or developed economies- they are not---and in those two countries like other European countries if you decide you want to live there- you need to learn the language which would take you years and money.

But why ukraine or even Russia? Are people so desperate to travel abroad or have their ass fried in cold. I laugh when people say they studied in ukraine or Russia- east block certificate- those countries are also corrupt and worse in terms of living conditions as naija,

My people here open your eyes and do a thorough research before making a wasteful excursion to such countries.

I am not saying the education is crap- but why would you leave your country with no regular supply of electricity, aluta, ASUU strike, unemployment , a developing country and go somewhere else where the living conditions are similar or worse. Is it to be labelled- Bode , Musa, Taye is abroad----no wonder many end up commiting suicide or been killed or perhaps doing drugs and other miserable things.

The conclusion is that you need to open your eyes- all those telling you Europe na gold , na paradise- Its all a lie- I lived in europe for more than 6years- studied in between those periods and I would tell you; do your research well before living naija.
Stop listening to gossips of paradise and good life- not all that glitters is gold.
