So I have been unemployed for a while until late last month that a friend gave me link to his place of work and I got the job. The pay is not good but I had to take it cos I was wasting away without any income.

Now I joined him in the city but he didn't tell me in his one room apartment, he has 3 other guys living in. I now make the 5th guy in one room. All of them have a girlfriend that still come to sleep in the same room. I'm sure you can imagine what it means living in such a condition. I'm just 2 weeks into the work but I have already felt so tired and fade that I'm thinking of quitting the job and go back to the village which is neither a better option. Some days, I sleep in the open in the compound because no space for me inside, absorbing all in the cold into my system which is very unhealthy, plus uncertain security situation. Also, according to the company's policy, I won't get paid through out the probationary period which is 3 months. How do I handle this?

I need advice please.

The first question I have for you is if it's your friend that is paying for the rent alone or if it's a collective stuff? If he is the one paying alone na to talk to reason with am make every man get he own sleeping position. That way, whoever is coming with a visitor would have to plan on where the visitor would spend the night or he would have to sacrifice his own space.
If the rent is a collective stuff, my brother na to bear for the next 3 months or look for somewhere else to be spending the night.
I would never advice you to go back to the village unless you are expecting something huge there.

Good morning everyone.

I was here on this platform in 2019 seeking for advice concerning Transportation business.
I eventually went into the business and it was a sad experience. You can read my previous threads for more information on the business.

After the collapsed of the transportation business, I venture into money lending business.

I lend money to people with the hope to get a refund with interests.

Since 2019 I went into the business, I have lent money to over 20 people and only 5 have refund the money.

Those 5 people who refunded the money, it was a fight before the refund.

Before I lend money to people, I make them sign T & C documents.
Some signed the hard copy others signed the softcopy.

When it is time to pay off, they refuse to pay. I have called them severally. At a point I told them to pay only the capitals and forget about the interests.

At a point some will make statements like "Don't disturb me. Even Federal Government owes. It is debt not stealing".

I had made arrangement that this December I will arrest some of them.

But recently I read on this platform that the police has no right to arrest anyone over debt.

Please how can I get them refund my money without involving the police?

My brother just forget about more than half of that money because more than 50 percent of your debtors have already made up their mind not to pay you back while another 20 percent have got the willingness to pay but the Nigerian laicadesical attitude towards lone won't make Dem pay back.
In case of next time don't give more than what you can't forego as lone especially without collateral.

Pastor Uhunoma was then queried about if he would continue stealing from a church after he’s freed.

The Lagos Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court, Ikeja, has sentenced a 38-year old bus conductor, Seun Aina to 25 years imprisonment for raping a 15-month-old toddler. The judge, Abiola Soladoye, sentenced Mr. Aina on Tuesday, September 28, after finding him guilty of defilement.

"The defendant is sentenced to 25-years in prison without an option of fine,” the judge said. The prosecution led by Peter Owolabani said the bus conductor committed the offense at 5.30 p.m. on 3 January 2018 at No. 5, Dominion Estate Road, Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos.

He said the convict was 35 years old at the time he committed the offense and the minor was his neighbor’s daughter. During the trial, the prosecution presented three witnesses including the Investigating Police Officer and a medical doctor.

The defense presented two witnesses, the convict, and a medical doctor. The offense contravenes the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015.
