@sienna: i'm not really too happy that the likes of you are here in UK. we need you more in Nigeria. Though i have not met you, the way you articulate auto issues reflects your mastery of the art. i guess it's high time you at least get an outlet in Lagos or Abuja(if you dont have one yet. and if you dont and wouldn't mind having one, but facing constraints, let know what the challenges are. i pledge my number 1 support). if you have one already, can i be privileged to have your contacts? i am here in uk and would appreciate it if you could assist me with conversion from RHD to LHD. i have the intention of buying either a 1999 C-class or a 2001 3-series BMW for conversion. i have not made up my mind on which one to procure due to the fact that i want to make adequate inquiries on which will be easier to convert (i have same preference for both cars, so wouldn't mind any). please furnish me with the cost of these conversion with your expertise. i would be more confident driving the car if you do the conversion. i'll send it down to wherever you are in the UK n pay for the delivery to Tilbury port. please include cost of parts n everything you'll need. thanks in anticipation for your favourable response. you can e-mail me: info4patty@yahoo.com. |
hello house, can anyone please make some recommendations on whom to contact or where exactly to go in Lagos for a good conversion job on a Benz C-class 1999. i need a professional job. it's a UK speck for use in Nigeria. i don't need the services of people who beat and bend a car till it fits please. what i want is a professional job. thanks! |
it depends on so many factors. y not find out why he is selling it. i have my reservations about 9ja used cars because some people sell their cars when it starts giving problems they know can never be fixed. if its in good condition and meets your requirements, well-maintained, aesthetic beauty, costmetic appeal, e.t.c. then go for it. else run o! somthing you think is just a little servicing may end up gulping your hard earned money. better still, consider coming up a little bit, say 600k-750k and get a toks. |
C- class is a strong and reliable car wen its on d go! i have read several reviews on d car and nobody has ever made bad comments about it. however, it can be expensive to maintain. i.e b ready to dole out money if anything goes wrong. |
@Lexusgs430: i observe a lot of car sellers do that but i'm not particularly comfortable with it. for crying out loud if a seller is certain that there's no fault with a car, i see no reason why he should conceal vital details from prospective buyers. i personally won't go for such an advert. i prefer people who lay their cards on the table. |
@Tuzen: have you seen it? |

@Siena: that sounds like trouble o! . kindly see this link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180667060381#ht_4998wt_905.do you think that apparatus wil be of any help in safeguarding against over-heating. if yes, what temperature do you advice the device be set in a country like Nigeria with an infernal weather to avoid spending so much money trying to fix a new head gasket. perhaps one could set this device to triger on and park the car when heating occurs. your advice will be appreciated. thanks |
@siena: thanks maan. (i'm really learning here). your analysis is clear. that's quite sad about Landrover. i know some cars have their peculiar problems unique to them, but head gaskets is not one anybody would actually wish for. i wish to ask again please and lastly, from your experience, how often does this occur on the average? e.g is it possible for such incidents to occur every 1000miles? the last one i bought, the guy i bought it from actually told me he just had the head gasket changed that same month. is it possible i may have course to change it within another 3months for instance - all tins being equal. i mean with just a normal day use, not necessarily engaging in long distant travels and not frequently on the road. |
@siena: like i earlier cited, i bought (and have bought in the past for re-sell) a Landrover Freelander K-series engine (I4 -thanks to your tutorials. i now speak in mechanical language ). this product is notoriously known for feeding voraciously on head gaskets (though i have never had the experience of changing any head gasket due to overheating, perhaps because i don't drive them long enough before selling off or may be i'm just lucky). i wish to ask - is there anything one can do to avoid the over heating problems? if it becomes incessant, what drastic measures can be taken? is it possible to swarp I4 engines between cars (say for instance, moving an I4 from a toyota- which presumably has better engine quality to a freaking infernal Landrover) i'm asking because i am torn between selling the last one i got and keeping it 4 real because i just admire it - sort of like painful to watch it go. |
, anytime u deem fit!!!!!!!!! |
@Tuzen: owoda? wete ego! kawo kudi! ![]() |
@Tuzen: please name your offer. hit the nail on its head. there's NOTHING to hide on this thread anymore o! it's very much open to genuine offers from serious buyers. |
@ sienna: i'm here again 2 taunt u. looooooooool! i'v got loads of qstns sid time. i hope u'll answer. |
Thanks for the clarifications dude. you were rather a little brusque there. i know you are here with me in the UK, i admire the fact that you articulately disect issues within your jurisdiction. wish all Nigerians were like that. be that as it may, I'm happy about the details you just published about the car. albeit without my consent. , and even happier that it's NOT an accidented or stolen vehicle, 'cos u wouln't have spared me in publishing that fact. ![]() |
hmmmmmmm, sienna: nice 1 dude. i really dont know much about cars o! my guy! i just buy, send 2 9ja 4 sale. i dont have a single problem with the engine and every1 who has driven it showers compliments on the sound of the engine as they all say it's very quiet. i really must confess to you dude that i looked every where for the sign 'ROVER' on the engine but couldnt find it. All i saw was 16valve written across it. i presume a BMW engine must have been swapped for it. in a related post earlier on (which you authored educating people about engines and valves) i had asked you about this but you didn't reply. however, i'm not pised. i wouldnt say i'm not satisfied with the engine performance as i'm very chuffed and satisfied wit it. i have no iota of regret buying the car and will be very much willing to make it a personal car even if nobody buys it. i'm not desperate to sell it.- so there's no issue about deception. i must repeat again (cos i know it's your area of specialty) i dont know jack about car engines o! i only buy, have a jolly good ride n re-sell. wat i wrote earlier was out of my suspicions, however, that dosen't preclude the fact that this engine is to a large extent ok. |
here is it |
