Because they put in good performances from time to time. McFred are good 50 percent of the tube but bad the other 50 percent. The problem is you can never predict if it’s good McFred or bad McFred that will appear.

VDB on the other hand is bad almost 100 percent of the time. So any minutes he gets are wasted minutes.

Finally, these academy players are very inexperienced and might not be ready to play the long minutes that McFred play but they are definitely ready to play VDB’s measly minutes.

Good point. I want players who are not delivering to be shipped out. McFred will always have one or two good games that will have us as fans thinking if it's wrong for the club to offload them and before you they'd have stayed at Old Trafford for 10+ years...

What's the obsession with world cup goals? Is the world cup is tougher competition than the UCL?

World cup is hyped because there's usually no competing football competitions going on during the world cup else who will watch England vs Senegal when there's a match between Liverpool and Manchester City at the same time?
