This is a statement that is as stupid as can be. First of all, American presidential candidates have ALWAYS held debates. There has never been a federal election in the last 70 years where the presidential candidates didn't debate themselves.
And these debates usually serve as a metric for many undecided to gain conviction of their support for a candidate or even lose that support.
There are Soo much undecided voters out there. At a point many of us here were undecided before we looked at a host of factors and decided on who we support for the elections.

Just on this thread, it's not been too long ago, aoo1 was rebuffed by the mania around Obi, today he's become a strong follower, likewise treblechamp, likewise ihebu4chelsea. In the same vein you also have izzou who have backtracked on his support for Obi because he loves to delude himself as a fencist as if he's unaffected by the consequence.

To say debates don't matter in a bid to defend your master not coming for one is the height of delusion.

About priority signing, we might need to first sought that central midfield partner for Casemiro before signing a CF, I think that position is just as important if not more important than that of a CF because Erikson can't possibly play every game. It all depends on Garnacho's progression though, if he continues doing well, Rashford should move to CF to compete with Martial until we can sign a top CF (Not a makeshift)...

Ronaldo should not be our striker. He is 38 years old. Unfortunately, the forwards we have are useless or not fit. Sancho, Martial, even Rashford.

Also, we don’t create enough chances. We rely on snatching the ball from the opponent and doing a counter vs building from the back and opening defences up. Strikers will miss chances, but it’s when you dominate and create lots of them that we can get ours to score. Not like we are playing pragmatic football (e.g. against the big boys) which requires efficiency.

Manchester City struggled to create chances yesterday until Haaland was introduced...

Ronaldo is passed it but then, it's Patrick saying it so, I expect his fans to go on the defensive...

I think people are saying we should prioritize a striker first...I don't think I have read anyone say they don't want Gakpo unless of course I missed it...

I really like Gakpo but there's a problem, in the LW, we have Rashford, Sancho and a very promising youngster coming through the academy (Garnacho)...If we sign Gakpo that means he'll have to battle with Martial for the CF role with Rashford as an option in any case of injury but the problem is that Gakpo is not an out and out CF and to be honest what we need now is a player who is a CF at best and not one who can do a job there occasionally...

If we can't get a CF, I wouldn't mind Gakpo to join us as an option for Martial or an outright replacing. In an ideal world, I'd hope we sign a CF and Gakpo...For me, Gakpo is more threatening than Sancho from the left or right and even through the middle and that's a big plus...

A CF first and then Gakpo or any other forward signing will be an icing on the cake...
