izzou:Check the post I quoted... |
Leyqute:Factor in the fact that Ronaldo is 2 years old and started before Messi... |
adebayo201:OMG! |

liveLongNprospa:Last last, people are just here to curse and insult themselves else I don't get why people can't put their beefs behind them and make this thread a good read... |
donstan18:Rituals? Baba this is not right... |
In defense, the usual starters... In midfield, Eriksen in place of Bruno with Casemiro paired with McTom... Rashford - Martial (My boy) - Antony... Sancho should be benched make e get sense by force... |
See clowns saying US fought wars in Afghanistan and Iraq... Do you know what it is like squaring up against a world power? For Ukraine to still be fighting, do some of you know the resources involved? The problem is that some of you underestimate Russia...Majority of the arms and ammunition of the old USSR is domiciled in Russia that alone is enough to see them standing for decades to come as a global military power... |
izzou:What are the governors doing? Governors collect millions of Naira monthly (Security vote) what is the money meant for? The same Governors that will use the police and army to hound their political opponents and rig elections will all of a sudden remember they don't have power to control the police and armed forces when the lives of the poor they govern is at stake...Let's call out our respective state governors too... |
Donjazet2:In 2027 the number of registered voters will increase again...It has been happening from time immemorial so, you can't possibly say it's because of Obi... The votes APC had was due to the Buhari factor and his cult-like supporters up North...APC won't get as much votes because a certain Buhari is not on the ballot...Even before joining forces with Tinubu, Buhari was almost always sure of 8-10m votes from his strong base in the North... |
Donjazet2:I have seen you here drop permutations too... |
Theflint1:At least you can go back a couple of pages and follow my interaction with Sege so you know that's my position... |
Theflint1:I was speaking for myself... |
Theflint1:You don't ask questions to someone that you don't consider as an option... |
"Atiku Abubakar seems to be the favorite among Muslims in the Northeast (except in Borno and Yobe) with a potential to expand his reach to other parts of the Muslim North. His problem is that because he has always been liberal, cosmopolitan, and not delimited by religion, he doesn’t excite northern Muslims who define their identities in religious terms. It’s precisely why he used to be more popular in the South (and in the Christian North) than in the Muslim North. But Peter Obi has stolen his thunder in his erstwhile electoral base, and this was the basis of a joke I saw on social media that says Atiku has in the bag all the votes he needs to be president in 2023—except that Obi is holding the bag. Obi appears to have a lock on the votes in the Southeast, the South-South, and in such predominantly Christians states as Benue, Plateau, and even Taraba. Christians in southern Kaduna and Southern Kebbi seem more favorably disposed to him than they are to any other candidate. The major challenge of his popularity in the Southeast is that it may not translate to high voter turnout in light of the continuing violence and threats of violence by IPOB. Muslims in the North-central and the Northwest appear to be the only noncommittal, persuadable voting bloc because they have no sentimental investment in any of the three major presidential candidates. They can swing in any direction. Because Obi is making a mark, however imperceptible, in these regions where he was previously unknown, we should recognize that he is no longer the underdog that he once was. In order to avoid a repeat of Buhari, critical citizens should ask Obi hard, soul-searching questions because he could be president. For example, why did he allow the Anambra State University branch of ASUU to go on strike for more than six months and even going so far as to sack the school’s vice chancellor “because of his alleged romance with the striking workers of the university,” according to the Daily Sun of January 19, 2011. How is he different from Buhari in this regard? Why did he allow doctors in Anambra State to go on strike for 13 months, which led to many needless deaths? The doctors called off their strike without Obi meeting their demands. And he implemented the no-work-no-pay rule when Anambra civil servants went on strike to demand to be paid minimum wage. While he was governor of Anambra, he played typical Nigerian politics of divide and rule. He played Catholics against Anglicans and even stigmatized political opponents as “Yoruba” people, according to Professor Okey Ndibe who wrote extensively on him. “It is similarly appalling that a governor who reportedly has ambitions for higher political office could not restrain himself from disparaging Mr. Ngige as a Yoruba candidate,” Ndibe wrote in his April 18, 2011, column titled “Peter Obi, Akunyili and Political Folly.” “Even if we accepted the silly argument that the ACN was a Yoruba party – so what? Is the governor allergic to forging political alliances with the Yoruba? Is he not aware that such appeals to base, ethnic sentiments would return to haunt him if he ever seeks to be a political player at the national level?” That was prophetic. This doesn’t make Obi any worse than his opponents. But because he could be president, we should interrogate him so we won’t be blindsided". Una sure say this Kperogi no dey visit this thread...We have said everything he wrote here... |
Ibukzy:People fail to take into account the population of Lagos and its size when making comparisons, all their focus is always on the amount of money available to the government... Nice one... |
Theflint1:I was going to post this here before seeing your post... Notice that he said Nigerians need to ask ask some very hard questions about Obi so as not to make the same mistake they made with Buhari? Segedinho, exactly what I wrote yesterday... |
liveLongNprospa:If you can read, you'd see where I said Raumdeuter was wrong for his comments... Anyway, that was 2015...It will interest you to note that DonJ was a fierce critic of GEJ around the same time so he isn't best placed to drag Dayo and his goons for whatever position they held back then... |
liveLongNprospa:I see you're hell bent on making sure sanity doesn't return to this thread... |
liveLongNprospa:Baba, all sides are guilty, going forward let's make tye debates here interesting and devoid of insults... |
Massiveglory:I will like to know how he intends to achieve it...We need to start asking how and when after politicians tell us what they intend to do... |
ChristineC:Well said... |
Donjazet2:Dayo went the extreme there... If memory serves me right, you supported Buhari in 2015 and not GEJ, why not GEJ? I hold Buhari liable for the insecurity in the North and around the country just like I did Jonathan in 2015...To be honest, Buhari did not deserve a second term after failing for the first 4 years... GEJ didn't help himself, I remember he went for campaign after a terror attack and that didn't go down well with a lot of Nigerians... Lastly, if you stop to respond to every attack coming the way of Obi, you might find yourself in a mud fight and at the end, you'd realize that rather than selling your candidate you fell for the bait of those who are against him... With the APC and PDP Nigerians know what to expect but not with LP hence, a good strategist will rather have Obi supporters (ambassadors) spend time engaged in e-fights and irrelevant arguments rather than propagate the message of Obi to others... The goal is to tell as many Nigerians as possible what Obi will do differently if elected and that's what's important... |
odizeey:Hehehe...The guy plays with no urgency at all...I used to think he had pace to burn but after a few games, I realized he can't go back the average fullback with pace and he isn't even a very good dribbler from what we have seen so far... |
Segedinho:Let me speak for myself, I am particularly interested in Obi because I think he is the only option of the big 4 that I am considering...I will analyze his every move independently just to be sure he is what is being presented before I decide whether to vote or abstain...If I am not convinced, I'll rather abstain that helping someone I don't trust to get elected... I don't care about religion, Prof. Ben Ayade and his deputy Prof. Esu are both Christians yet they've failed to deliver so, I tell anyone who cares to listen that bringing up religion in a political debate or basing your judgment on religion is a NO for me... Atiku and Kwankwaso are out of the race by virtue of the fact that Buhari who is rounding up his 2nd tenure is from the North...We have not reached the stage where we elect leaders irrespective of region, the current system of North and South is best for us (Please don't use the same logic to argue in favor of religion as we have Christians in the North and Muslims in the South too)... Tinubu is out solely because of his age which comes with its attendant health challenges (You can't wish it away)... The reason why every move Obi makes is often scrutinized by majority of the electorates (I am referring to those whose scrutiny is with the right intentions) is because of lot of people are interested in his person...Trust me, majority of people who supported Buhari in 2015 did so because they wanted Jonathan out because his Government failed to deliver even when crude oil price was on a record high...Nobody cared to look at what the APC were offering if it was SMART in any sense and that's a mistake I believe a lot of Nigerians (some not all) don't want to make by jumping on the Obi bandwagon without proper checks... |
liveLongNprospa:Trust me, a lot of folks will stumble on this thread before the elections and who knows, one or two might be convinced to vote for a candidate via the interactions here... We ought to be more matured here... |
Segedinho:APC has a support base like PDP, I am talking about people who will vote for them regardless...Peter Obi and in extension Labour Party are the new entrant, the goal is to get many people who were seldom uninterested in the electioneering process to vote for Peter Obi and as well convince undecided voters to pitch their tent with Obi...It even extends to attracting PDP and APC faithfuls to ditch their party's candidate for Obi... How do you achieve such? You have to be rational, convincing and patient...It irks me to see people who want to change the system to hide behind the excuse of "APC did worse to Jonathan in 2015" as a reason for their irrational approach...That's how APC came in with the change mandate yet things have relatively remained the same...If PO wins, I wouldn't be surprised to see people blaming his failure (That is if he fails) on the APC like the APC are still blaming the PDP... No matter how you try to balance things up, DonJ has been largely responsible for bad blood here...Sell your candidate and stop attacking everyone and anyone who holds a divergent viewpoint... We all cannot think alike but maturity is the ability to respect the choices of others... |
Ellexy, Martial will not put me to shame...My boy go score 20+ EPL goals... |
E be like the dragging of Sancho don dey set... Our right wing solution don turn left wing problem...Dear God, epp us... |
