MRTA7:Kikiki Last last, the fence go break... |
Nobody is on the fence for here... Afrodoc2 gave Ole the name 'Amaka' which stands for disappointment, pray tell, who will want a girl that keeps disappointing him around? Nobody...Doc is Oleout without the energy to argue on and on... Oasis007 is a member of the Oleout camp, I know this because in our camp, his mansion is next to mine... ![]() Nitrogen and Nani na them be camp commandant... KingAlabi na OleIN, him just dey claim fencist to avoid the backlash that might come if things go south... handelex na OleIN but him hate Maguire well well... Melodyogonna na one of the commandant for OleIN camp... Nobody is a fencist, some Folks just don't have the strength to argue back and forth like Leyqute and Patrick... ![]() |
Leyqute:We have the better goalies... City are better at RB but in the center of defense, you can't possibly say City ahve more experience or are better...Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly and Tuanzebe are not inferior to Dias, Laporte, Stones and Ake...Maguire came from Leicester like stones from Everton and to be honest, Maguire is the better defender. Bailly joined from Villarreal who in the last decade or two have done better than Bilbao...Lindelof joined from Benfica as a starter and to be honest, Benfica are a force to reckon with in Portugal like Porto where Dias was before City swooped in for him...Ake and Tuanzebe are at the same level, I will rate Axel even higher if you ask me...Talking about other CB options, you mentioned Fernandinho and his ability to fill in at the back but you forget McTomminay fills in at CB for Scotland and Matic is more than adept at filing in at the back same as Shaw... In midfield, just gnome like you attempted to glorify Fernandinho, a younger Matic played the role of McFred. We have Pogba who is better than Gundogan as a CM and CAM, we have Bruno, Fred, McTominay and Mata who can easily dovetail as a CAM in the absence of the regular starters, we also have VDB...City have KDB, Gundogan, Rodri, Fernandinho, Silva a d Foden...How exactly are we inferior? We can deploy Matic as the lone DM with Pogba beside him just like City can deploy Rodri and Gundogan...I another instance, they can play a double pivot of Fernandinho and Rodri whilst we have McFred...In AM, they can deploy KDB Foden, Silva (Gundogan hasn't played as an AMF in ages), we in turn have Bruno, Pogba, Mata and VDB as options...Pray tell, how are they better than us? In attack, we have Greenwood and James on the right whilst they have Silva and Mahrez...I concede they're better... On the left we have Rashford and Martial (MartialCurse is you descending to a low point, one that's far from you but then, you did it with Nagelsmann after we beat Leipzig at Old Trafford), City have Sterling and Torres...We are better unless you're being unfair... At the focal point of attack, they have Aguero and Jesus while we have Cavani and Martial...Aguero has barely featured this season as we as Jesus so how are they better? What's the point having a world class player who is hardly available? Quality wise, we are not far behind City but as a unit we are way off their level and that's down to the level of coaching...If Ole and Pep swapped roles, City will be chasing us in no time... |
KingAlabi:The end... |
KingAlabi:I'm sure if we talk about midfield now, you'll be quick to say City are better but on a different day, when we talk Bruno vs KDB, you'll say Bruno is better... You'll say Pogba over Gubdogan... You'll pick Fred over Rodri and most likely Matic or Fernandinho or a tie...But when we compare both teams, you guys will say they're better because for you guys, we must not be seen to have good players so the demand on Ole is reduced... I am sure even if we signed Neymar, Mbappe and Haaland, you people will also find reasons to say we don't have the best attack just to protect Ole...I am certain if we were coached by someone not connected with the club most of you would have turned your back on him. |
We have been really lucky with injuries this season...I hope we don't suffer a blow when we can least afford it... |
KingAlabi:1 goal difference at this point shows we are right up there with City, it's the defense where there's glaring difference but let's cling onto anything just so it look like we have a vastly inferior attack to City that way, our MCM is off the limelight...Brilliant, just brilliant... |
KingAlabi:I am not doubting that Martial is useless but you on the other hand should man up and accept that whatever it is, you are an Ole fan boy...No dey disguise... |
KingAlabi:Mata has played RW in the EPL and has 2 assist... In all, it shows that in attack it's near impossible to separate both teams...If you delve into a more detailed Stat comparing goals per chances missed, we have been more clinical... I still maintain the only recognizable difference between the both teams is in defense... |
KingAlabi:Excuses as usual, let's see the assist stat... You Ole fans cling onto anything just absolve Ole of any blames...Even if we based the argument on goals alone, a difference of 1 goals proves nothing at this point. The major difference between the both teams is in the defense where we have conceded 27 against 13 compared to City... Nitrogen has painstakingly dropped an expanded stat but as usual, you just have to argue on... |
KingAlabi:Go back to the post you quoted and you'd see I mentioned goals plus assist...You picked the one that favors your argument and discarded the assist Stat...lol |
KingAlabi:The only area City have proven to be better than us is in defense, there's stats to back this statement up... |
KingAlabi:Be judicious enough to drop their respective goal/assist record per attacker...I suspect you are trying to hide something... |
eph12:You can't dismiss the performance of their defenders just like that...No matter how coordinated a team is, the opposition will defended bridge their press and that's where the quality of their defense comes handy. |
hensben:But but Rudiger is starting...How technical is Rudiger with the ball? |
The Rashford I know would have blasted that ball whether it ends up in the net or not is another thing but then, I read somewhere before the game that the coaches were concerned that Rashford finishing was becomi g too one dimensional thus were working with him to vary his finishing maybe, just maybe he didn't want to shoot in a bid to do something different... |
MRTA7:Someone claimed Pep had more options to call from ranging from defence to attack hence City are doing better but I objected noting that we have players of similar capability or there about. I went further to say that City have had most of their key players plaque by injuries meaning we stand an even better chance than them but we don't have a manager with the tactical nous to get us playing to our potential... To highlight that City doesn't have the better attack (form and not names), I proceeded to check the stats of attackers in the both teams and saw we come out tops... The one area City tops us this season is in the defense and most of us have pointed it out for sometime now that our defense will cost us... I know you haven't followed the debate... |
handelex:Our forwards need to improve but the main area of concern ATM is the defence, the coaches need to work towards solving our defensive issues if we must keep pace with City... |
Just checked the GF and GA stay and from what I see, we and City are tied on 37 goals for but the difference is that they have conceded 13 whilst we have conceded 27 having played one more game...That's a negative of 14 goals compared to City but no, you'll think Manchester City forwards are doing so well when in all honesty, our forwards have been better... This is not me saying I'm impressed with our strikers but compared to City, we have the better forwards on current form... |
KingAlabi, if I decide to drop goals/assist for our forwards compared to City, you will run away...Our strikers have been better than theirs this season, their advantage over us is that they have a stable defense... Maybe, it's you who is looking at names rather than present form... |
KingAlabi:In one reply you are talking about present form but here you are listing Aguero who has hardly played this season. Of the players you mentioned, how many of them have scored up to Rashford? Cavani? |
KingAlabi:When your MCM doesn't play them, how do you want them to be on form? You expect VDB to pick form whilst on the bench... |
Leyqute:I will try to do a fair comparison... We have a better substitute goalie... In RB, Cancelo is better than Williams... RCB, Bailly is better than Stones... LCB, Ake is marginally ahead of Tuanzebe... At LB, Telles is better than Zichenko... In midfield, we have Matic, VDB and Mata which isn't inferior to Fernandinho, Bernado Silva and Foden... In attack, they edge it with Torres, Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus whilst we have Greenwood, James and soon to join the team, Diallo... We have the better keeper and defensive option, the midfield is a tie and they have a better attack... In all, we are not far behind in terms of quality but Ole just doesn't have the ability to get us playing great football and winning...Worst off, he doesn't trust his bench players... |
KingAlabi:In the absence of Aguero and Sterling's loss of form, others have stepped up to deliver the goods because Pep trust them... Yesterday, he had Sterling on the bench alongside Mahrez, Mendy, Stones etc but he only used one sub... If Ole coached City, Sterling will keep starting over Foden...The fact is that Pep has a way of managing his players when your form dips, he takes you off the spotlight for you to rediscover your form to avoid the pressure that comes with playing and underperforming... In all, we keep talking about Manchester City squad depth but we only talk because Pep puts them to good use. Ole will never start Zichenko when Mendy is fit, we see it here with Telles and Shaw...The fans have even started doubting Telles and elsewhere VDB meanwhile this are players who shoned in their previous clubs. If City had signed VDB, I'm sure we will have been castigating Woodward for not signing him. Every other player looks great out there until they join Manchester United and begin to look at best average. Only Bruno has come in and looked the par. Maybe, it has more to do with Manchester United and the coaching... |
Has Greenwood game improved? Not at all... Look at Foden, no way was he close to MG last season but Pep is working wonders with that kid...At the moment, Foden looks it... |
Leyqute:When last did you watch a City game with Aguero featuring? Even Jesus has had his time out...Laporte only just recovered after a long layoff...De Bruyne is out injured...Mendy? You don't think it's a crisis because they're winning games...Pep has built a system that functions well irrespective of the personnel even though the drop in quality on an individual basis is evident... If we had Rashford, Bruno, Maguire and Shaw injured for even a month, I am sure the general consensus would be that we have had an injury plaqued season hence the pressure to finish in the top 4 would have been lifted off Ole and if he makes the top 4, it would have been seen as a miracle but not at City where they're 3pts ahead of their closest challengers and with a game in hand... |
nitrogen:With Vardy injured, they'll struggle to win games... Ayoze Perez and Iheanacho are useless... |
Nezzjnr:I don't want City winning the league abeg. E go pain me too much. |
Leyqute:City have been without Aguero and Jesus for most part of the season yet they're doing okay. Sterling has been a shadow of himself and Mahrez has flattered to deceive. Pep is doing wonders with Foden but Greenwood seems to have stagnated here... If we had the kind of injury crisis City have had to deal with, most folks here will make excuses of it but not City, they're going about business the right way... About the price of Torres, we bought James for 5m less or thereabout, so it's not like we didn't spend... |
If City win their outstanding game, they'll be 6pts ahead of us... Liverpool should better win tomorrow so they can give City a hot chase because we are not serious... |
Elxandre:I complained that against Liverpool we had our best players playing out of position and it seems Ole hasn't learnt any lessons... |
