Ole has his shortcomings but for what we did against Spurs and yesterday, Manchester City, there's no way I'm jumping on his case anytime soon.
Fred and McTominay are the biggest improvement in the team. I saw Fred mark out De Bruyne and still had time to go forward and create chances. My God!
Shaw was great, I like the fact that he didn't allow Bernardo the space to cut in into his left foot, it's only Mahrez that got that chance once and almost punished us.
With Wan-Bissaka, I have absolute confidence when he is defending, if only he can improve his attacking play, he'll be without doubt the best RB in the world.
Martial is good when he has players close to him playing those swift one-twos passes. He and Daniel James combined to good effect. However, our forwards need to work on their finishing, I'm certain if any of those chances fell for McTominay, he'd have scored. |

Against small teams, I suggest we start Greenwood alongside Martial upfront flanked by Rashford and James. We really don't need Lingard unless Pogba is fit then Greenwood can be benched.
I am just waking up cos yesterday was crazy, I drank everything that came my way. Glory Glory Manchester United... |

eph12: Pep is very stubborn. Everyone knows this team can hurt you if you give them space while remaining compact at the back. I didn't expect that from him at all. This loss may have just cost him the league Exactly, that man is just arrogant. Walker was playing as a midfielder when an inform Rashford was on the left. That's just disrespectful to Manchester United and arrogance on display. |

Lekkie073, Lana1 and Leyqute, can you guys just sheath your swords? We won, let's savor the moment.
Wan-Bissaka as usual is a fantastic defender, he did well marking out Sterling.
Maguire was good as well as was Shaw, only Lindelof looked shaky.
For me, my man of the match is Fred, he did a job on De Bruyne. McTominay is a class act and our attack was top notch... |

NwaAmaikpe:

Where was Wole Soyinka when Nnamdi Kanu's bail was ignored, where was he when Nnamdi Kanu's family house was being desecrated by the military?
Why is Soyinka even complaining against a government whose emergence he actively worked for? The chicken has come home to roost and they've begun whipping up empathy.
I refuse to buy in and it is simple. I won't weep for you when your house is on fire if you didn't weep for me when mine was.
No way,
Sowore should pay the price for inciting a revolution against the government of the day out of animosity for not making the ministerial list. The APC made it clear that they were not going to run a Government of National Unity, so what is Sowere's grouse?
Is it also a coincidence that his call for revolution came after the ministerial list was released?
We have better things like Allen Onyema and Air Peace to worry about and I find it rather paradoxical that our dear Professor has not made a comment on the ordeals of Allen Onyema.
Soyinka dines with the people he criticizes and laughs to their faces, accepts their awards and shows up for their invitations. Visits their official residences and takes happy photographs with them. Worse even, he allows his children to serve under them.
Aside not being as literally sound, this two-faced nature is one of the reasons he will never be half the man Chinua Achebe was.
Chinua Achebe made his stand on issues unequivocally clear without any hues of grey, he turned down National awards based on personal principles, he never fraternized with people he believed made the country worse off and most importantly, he spoke out irrespective of whose ox it was that was being gored.
Wole Soyinka may have the unmerited award, but Achebe is the laurel itself.
How can the same people who said they couldn't trust Nigeria in the hands of Atiku "the looter" and "Made in China" Obi now complain that Nigeria is finished under their Mr. Intergrity and his Professor of Law vice?
No way. Lalasti.clala please tell them that we must get to our Next Level, nobody is jumping off this ship. You're just an idiot. |

Leyqute: Leicester players are always expensive post-Kante.
Mahrez, Maguire cost over 60 million. Maddison is younger and “holds potentials”. They’ll charge more. Do you think Maddison is overhyped? |

ChristineC: that's a scouting problem. another Dan James can unearth to improve the team. look at Pepe and James now; non is really a waste of money per say but comparing respective contributions so far, one is looking like it. Madison is trying but not £80-100m trying. all that hype and big tag bring it's weight and very few of them have the persona to carry it. ordinary captain's armband looked so heavy on Harry Maguire, I'm I the only one who observed he was much more composed in the last game without that added responsibility? [I'm not sure why the hell he's even getting the armband, he's the newest player within the group]. We haven't approached Leicester City yet to know how much Maddison will cost. |

afrodoc2: This is his first Serie A season, he is averaging less than 28 passes per game, less than 80% pass accuracy and 1 through pass every 10 games according to whoscored. If Ed Wayward replaces Pogba with this guy at CAM Fenibeso and Sopona hybrid thunder will strike him.
There is NOTHING special in his stats or highlights. He can try again when he is more mature in 4 years time and is exceptional in a particular position, not hearsay that he can play this or that role. Lol my ideal choice to replace Pogba is Maddison sha! |

Leyqute: Yup. Hardly saw him against park the bus teams too. Any player can be good when it’s 3 vs 2 or 2 vs 1.
I can’t really pass judgment until I see him in a full match.
The problem is that he can turn into a totally different player in another environment. A player Oxygen will be cursing every match day. Lol na my guy you dey talk about abi? He is just pissed off with the drab performances we have seen, granted he sometimes overreact but then, na normal thing. |

afrodoc2: Even Fred has stepped up. He is now looking like a 30m player instead of a free transfer, though it took almost 18 months.
If we are to do anything this season McTom-Fred base in midfield would be important with McTom being the key. If an inspired and fit Pogba joins them we might have an outside shot at top 4. We definitely have that opportunity. I am hearing Chelsea's transfer ban has been lifted, if so, they'll likely strengthen in January. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 2:39pm On Dec 06, 2019 |
afrodoc2: As a RWF he does not have enough pace for me. Eye for a pass is one thing but in the EPL you need to be able to dribble and outrun quick full backs. If you doubt me ask Juan Mata. From what I read, he can play as CAM too. That's where I'd consider him. |

Leyqute: Never heard of him.
Looks like he has a decent left foot and has good vision to pick out team mates in tight positions.
He plays in the Serie A though and YouTube videos can be deceiving. True, I didn't see enough videos of him in tight spaces to know how comfortable he is with the ball. He has got an eye for the pass tho. Cc: Afrodoc2 |

ChristineC: it's a game that may see us feature Pogba-Fred-McT midfield. if that happens, it a W. How fit is Paul? I don't think he has played any reserve game to bring him up to speed. He'll likely come from the bench. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 6:03pm On Dec 05, 2019 |
chrisley024: Maybe cos our forwards lack space, since most small teams stay behind, and our players can't keep possession and not good enough to play in tight spaces. Rashford and James are more of runners with the ball.
Tom with Fred is miles away from Fred with Perreira. So no proof using same formation would've made it better. Away from the formation, we pressed higher, recovered the ball in dangerous positions and they was generally better movement with the fullbacks especially Wan-Bissaka pushing forward even though he wasn't as effective as one would've liked. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 5:37pm On Dec 05, 2019 |
chrisley024: Ya, most of the blames go to them. They're professionals and should act so.
Ole's games against the top teams in epl have shown he's not tactically inept as most guys claim here. This thing is funny. If you say our performance against top teams shows Ole isn't tactically inept, then why can't he fashion a way out against small teams? The truth is that the formation yesterday was spot on with the only anomaly being Young and Lingard however even they are manageable. If we started with the same formation against Aston Villa, we would have done better rather than that absurb formation accommodating 3 CBs. |
