Check his goal vs Chelsea, he did damage from the right.
He has stood in for Kane whenever he is unavailable and he has delivered time without number. The good thing I like about him is that he doesn't complain even when he is on the bench.
I am not advocating that we buy him, just appreciating him.

Bro, I still stand by my words. I still believe Walker to be the better player. Trippier plays higher up the pitch and crosses the ball better, so it's easy to get carried away with that. Who doesn't love an attacking fullback?

But his defending isn't really good and that is where Walker gets the nod over him for me. Walker is a more balanced defender. Good offense and very good defense. He has incredible pace and athleticism, strong in 1v1s and can still put in a good cross. He might not be adventurous as he was at Spurs for tactical reasons, but he has developed other aspects of his game. Comfortable in possession, and is at home playing in a back 3 as in a 4 man defense.

I don't think he gets enough credit or any at all for his improvement since leaving Spurs.

You forget to add one of his sterling qualities, moments of brainfart.
Forget the burst of pace, he isn't a better defender than Trippier.

I saw the game. He and Fellaini came in at 86 minutes after Cardiff had been dismantled. He made three passes. One of them he was doing leg over and while almost lost balance, quickly made a pass. At that time there was plenty of hole in Cardiff defence.

You cannot judge a player that way.

I always knew he'll do well in a system that doesn't prioritize defending. Fred also did well when he came on.

Liverpool defence is the best in the league because they have conceded the least goals

Spurs have the better defense, you should know too well that defense as a whole is a function of the team, Liverpool defend from the front as do City thus it is difficult for teams to organize an attack against them unlike the team has players with ability to keep the ball even when under intense pressure.
The best defender however is VVD, his numbers are world class.

If goals conceded isnt a standard to judge the quality of a defence, we can also say goals scored is not a standard to judge the quality of an attack

What is the job of a defence if not to prevent goals scored? And when they prevent goals How will you claim its not a standard to measure it?

I actually meant defender not defense. However, on paper I'd say Tottenham based on individual quality of their first team back 4...The best defender is VVD.
City defenders are not really troubled as much due to their style of play.

Are you not seeing peculiar thinking pattern with majority of Chelsea fans?

Cannavaro played alongside Nesta and Zambrotta with peak Buffon behind them and in front of them was the best DMs of that time, Gattuso and De Rossi, it won't be so difficult for him to look great in that set up. Goals conceded isn't a yardstick to judge the quality of a defense, Atletico Madrid are regarded as the most defensively organized team but Ronaldo destroyed them in the UCL scoring a hattrick, it doesn't in any way mean Godin isn't top class. There's no way you come up against Napoli and PSG over two legs without conceding. The loss at Red Star Belgrade was down to poor team selection by Klopp, he kind of underrated them.
