Swissh:How is he a fraud? Liverpool were in a very tough group, the group of death and have qualified but just have to rant because in your head, you assume there's a beef between the EPL and La Liga... |
tayooluwole:It's we that's making it look obvious that it's a battle between APC VS PDP, we are making them popular by casting doubts on the other aspirants. If you stand for Sowore, I stand for Sowore, the next guy says Durotoye, the next man says it's Moghalu, I assure you, PDP and APC will have no choice to rebrand. We can't keep making folks who have impoverished us relevant, we have to take a stand and say NO to them. |
JayKayMaybachz:Happy birthday brotherly, more grace... A win should suffice today. |
Melvyn11:My battery is 6%, if you think I have time to engage you in any back and forth, you lie...Go check YouTube during Fergie Era and save me the stress... |
Melvyn11:You should point to other CB who are better rather than this dry lines you're dropping here. |
I don't think Sanchez is really injured, I think he played the injury card to avoid the embarrassment of sitting on the bench week in week out... He'll most like be available for selection next week. Mou really hurt us, if you watch our U-18 and U-23, you'll notice there's a disconnect in playing style to the first team under Mourinho, how will our juniors be playing attacking football and the first team will be set up to contain the opposition. Glad he's gone now. |
Let's get playing the United way again. |
postdigger:Don't be silly, you can't argue with the fact that he is the most successful coach in the business right now. |
afrodoc2:Thanks for the update, I was not looking at the first team when I talked about his finishing, I was just assessing his overall game, of course he need to work on his strength. I have high hopes for Tuanzebe, I hope he replaces Jones next season. |
afrodoc2:I checked him up couple of days ago, dude looks assured on the ball and is very pacey, he just needs to improved his finishing...Gomes, Greenwood and Chong are the future... Sup, with Tuanzebe? |
larride:Keita plays the Pogba role, compare him to Pogba. Matic/Herrera should be compared to Fabinho/Hendo. Fred should be compared with Wijnaldum... The main reason I am all for the sack of Mourinho over replacing the underperforming players is that with Mou, it's not the fist time in his career we're seeing him fallout with his players while in the other hand, away from the club, most of this players are performing well for their respective countries just as others were doing great before he arrived or at their previous clubs. |
larride:Herrera played for Bilbao before we signed and he was a key member of that team that eliminated us at the Uefa cup Seco d or quarter final stage. Matic left Chelsea, went to Benfica and did big things, he came back to Chelsea and won the EPL playing a starring role. What exactly has Keita achieved or done in the big stage? Fabinho, what has he on Herrera or Matic? |
larride:In all honesty, Wijnaldum, Keita and Fabinho are not better than Pogba, Fred and Herrera/Matic. |
larride:Believe me, if Gundogan, Torreira, Dembele played for us and our midfielders played in those other teams, you would be here heralding them and castigating the ones you are praising now. |
Dantedasz:This is the spirit bro. |
elampiro:Player for player, there's little to seperate the both teams, people can argue otherwise but you look at the players critically and at various points, they have shown they're capable. The boys were low in confidence and didn't want to play for the manager. Imagine Mou was praising Robertson for his bombarding runs forward but same Mou will never set his team to have Shaw doing same. |
diggz:Lol Pogba has his faults but I doubt if he was coached by Pep he wouldn't be doing much better. |
The argument here was that we have the players to at least give city a run for the EPL. We argued that Pep would've utilized Mata, Pogba, Herrera, Pereira, Martial, Shaw, Rashford etc more than they were being utilized by Mourinho. Even though the new manager needs to be supported with funds to buy players, I am certain that we have a good enough midfield to match our rivals, we only need to look at the defence and probably a striker. Even the defense might come good with a domineering midfield. |
A word for Jose... As I took some time off to reflect on his dismissal, the human side of me kicked in, it's the feeling I felt when he was sacked in his first stint as Chelsea's manager... Bold, pragmatic, entertaining and smart, Mourinho has his name boldly written in the histroy book of football, as a young manager, he led Porto to the Uefa Cup and finished unbeaten in the league. In the next season his Porto team eliminated Manchester United on their way to lifting the UCL... Next, he joined Chelsea and raised the standard of the English league just as Pep is doing now, his teams were renowned for their defensive solidity and ruthlessness up front. However, as the years went by, attacking football as played by Pep, Klopp and other young coaches posed a threat to his methods which were becoming obsolute after his glorious spell at Inter Milan which culminated at a treble winning campaign in 2010. Upon joining Madrid, Mourinho needed to make some adjustments, which he didn't do and it ultimately cost him his job then and now. A lot had changed, away from warriors like Ballack, Lampard, Terry, Carvalho, Drogba at first to Lucio, and Walter Samuel, Milito Zanetti, and the iconic figure and captain extraordinaire of Inter, Mourinho had to deal with modern day footballers who wielded more power driven by huge wages and the social media effect, Ronaldo, Ozil, Ramos, Di Maria etc were never going to be the warriors he wanted them to be, he refused to acknowledge that players were now more powerful, player power had come to stay and in his bid to assert his authority and his playing style, the players revolted and he was kicked out. Back at Chelsea, he did well to win the EPL in the second season of his second stint but yet again, he was a victim of his refusal to adapt to the modern game, he lost the dressing room again and was infamously sacked for the second time. Then came Ed Woodward and Manchester United who themselves where struggling to find their footing post Fergie era, Mou was brought in and backed with cash with one mandate, to return the club back to the submit of English and European football. In his first season, he delivered, Manchester won the only European trophy that has since eluded her in her otherwise prestigious history along with the Caraboa cup, things looked good and the board were obliged to splash the cash looking forward to his second season. In his second season, the cracks began to show, he was at first satisfied with the summer transfer dealings but it was not after we were a couple of games in to the season that he started to blame every poor result on the failure of Ed Woodward to land Ivan Perisic whom he had publicly expressed his likeness for. He began to criticize the players, passing blames for every poor result and undermining the club. In the one area where the fans were admittedly satisfied with how things were panning out, the LWF position where Martial and Rashford were keeping each other on their tails, he messed things up by bringing in. Sanchez as part of a player exchange deal that saw Mkhitaryan head the opposite direction to Arsenal. Sanchez or the piano man as some rivals fans have christened him has so far flattered to deceive, he has been a shadow of the beast we watched terrorizing defenders at Arsenal, his signing stagnated the growth of Martial and most especially Rashford. He made matters worse each time he was in front of the cameras no worse did he do than his utterances after we were eliminated from the UCL by lowly Sevilla... It was now a matter of time, came his 3rd season, this season, he spent the summer telling all who needed to hear that he wanted a CB but this is the same manger who demanded for Bailly first and afterwards Lindelof but 2 years and one year on, he had deemed them not good enough (Are you kidding me?), he signed Dalot for over 19m pounds and Fred for 52m but fast forward in the new season, Fred has a struggled for game time, Dalot has barely featured. He has made the mess of over 350m pounds investment as he had fallen out with his and the EPL most expensive signing ever and was plotting his sale in a bid to satisfy his ego, Lukaku is a shadow of himself, Bailly is glued to the bench, Lindelof hasn't improved, Martial is threatening to leave the club whilst on the other hand, career wastsemen have become starters in a team renowned for flair players, Fellaini held the club to ransom for a new deal, fucking Fellaini of Everton, Smalling just signed a new deal, Young is having the time of his otherwise mediocre career, Jones keeps serving us shit yet he always somehow makes the team list, less said about Lukaku the better, Lingard has refused to grow, a whole lot of negatives crowned by that utter disgraceful performance at Anfield. Mourinho has since lost the midas touch, he has not improved any player in the team and he deserves to be shown the door. I won't wish him good luck ahead,I am rather wishing the next unfortunate club that hires him good luck... Can he be saved? Yes of course he needs to reinvent himself but that's a big ask for a defensive minded coach like him. |
BykeLaByke:Yes, but I support Barcelona in La Liga. |
popizaino:Batista was on loan to Arsenal from Madrid so I don't know why you choose to call him an Arsenal reject. |
IKON360:In my post, I especially stated my preference for Rodri who is very similar to Busi |
IKON360:The role of Busi, is it the same as the role of Fernandinho? Is it the same as the role of Torreira? Is it the same as the role of Rabiot currently at PSG? |
Awesome01:Busi is ageing, and of the guys you listed, only Samper and probably Rakitic can effectively take his place and Samper has not been helped by injuries, Rakitic is also ageing, Arthur looks more like a CM in the mould of Xavi so it would not suit his game if he is converted to a CDM. Rabiot on the other hand is a CDM but when it comes to playing the Barca way and recycling possession, Rodri looks a perfect fit. |
Rabiot on a free is a very good deal unlike what some folks here are saying. Rodri is also a fine option contrary to what some folks here think. So many arrogant folks here. |
raumdeuter:He did great but we don't have that kind of team here that's my argument, away from peak CR7, Luka, Kroos, Marcelo, Ramos, Pepe etc I am not certain Zidane can bring out the best in our current crop of players unless the board decide to splash the cash. |
raumdeuter:He'll need time and huge investments to assemble a squad of similar quality at United and I can't guarantee he'll get any at this point. We have a lot of good players in the squad, all we need is a manger that'll improve the players we have, reinforce positions where we lack quality and play exciting football... I wouldn't mind Poch, he has done well with a quite moderate budget at Spurs though some will say he hasn't won nothing but look what we got with the supposed serial winner, Jose Mourinho. |
raumdeuter:He had a team of absolute world beaters so one LA Liga isn't as impressive as it will be when a Simeone wins it. Winning the UCL thrice is no mean feat but I actually like to look beyond of couple of games. |
Coutinho14:Defensively, Spurs have the edge, in midfield, it's 50:50, in attack, it's 55:45 in favor of Dortmund but Spurs... The match will depend on which Spurs side turn up, whether the one that for an Chelsea ragged or the one that couldn't cope with Arsenal. |
I really don't fancy Zidane, I feel he'll struggle without top players, away from their UCL dominance, his Madrid team were not so good in La Liga. |
I just need an attacking Manager to replace Mourinho, let's see Martial, Sanchez, Rashford, Pogba and the likes in an attacking set up. |
diggz:Lol I'll stick with Pogba for next season, let's see the lads under a manager who is not averse to playing attacking football. |
