Pep met great technical players like David Silva and KDB and was able to build something from that. Prior to that City also played attacking football. The transition was easy.

Look at Chelsea, they've had good possession based/attacking managers from Potter to Poch now to Maresca. Maresca found the transition easier. Who found it most rough among them? Potter. Why? He took over from tuchel. The transition was difficult. This is a fact everyone loves to ignore.

Or is Flick also supposed to find it difficult taking over from Xavi at Barca? I dare these guys to take over Athletico or Juve.

The strict establishment of a style of play started in GW 1 of this season. If by December I don't see an obvious implementation then I can't back him. Cuz for the first time we now have a settled environment for him to build whatever. Unlike the first 2 seasons.

Maresca is not making excuses neither is any Chelsea fan making excuses for him, he is working with what he met on ground. I think it's only Sancho that is new in their line up, he came in and immediately decided to offload players he didn't need or froze them out of the team because he knows what he wants. James is out injured, he is their best defender. Lavia is injured too after an impressive start but still he is working with the players available and doing well so far.

How about Flick at Barcelona who is doing wonders with kids? FDJ only returned to the bench after being absent for months now, Araujo is out injured, Olmo is injured, Fermin is injured as is Christensen, Bernal, Gavi and Ter Stegen yet Barcelona fans are still going into each match day expecting to win, no excuses even when you can easily make up one for Flick.

You think Pep will settle for less because Rodri, KDB and Ake are out injured? He will find a way to win regardless.

That we do not have an established pattern of play after 2 full seasons here is an indictment on ETH whether or not you admit it.
