SportsStefano Okaka:black Players Have To Give More. by patwilly(op): 12:28pm On Nov 29, 2014
The former Roma striker has suggested it is
harder for black players to gain recognition on the
international stage following his Italy debut this
September.
Sampdoria's Stefano Okaka has revealed his
opinion that he might have made his debut for
Italy sooner, were he not black.
The 25-year-old has scored just two goals in 12
Serie A appearances for high-flying Sampdoria so
far this season, but was called into the Azzurri
fold for the first time by Antonio Conte for the
internationals in September.
It was a dream debut for the striker as he came
on from the bench to score the winning goal in
the 1-0 friendly against Albania, but he feels his
skin colour could be a reason for his delayed
progress to the international scene.
"If I was white, I would be considered more of
what they are: a black always has to give
something more," Okaka said in an interview with
La Gazzetta.
"I feel totally Italian. When in May and 20 days
ago they called me to offer me to play for
Nigeria, I said no because I did not feel 'natural',
such as what happened when Conte called me for
Italy.
"Butmy past in the youth levels is there, and
today I am like a tree that does not know its
roots."
The former Roma and Parma man went on to talk
about his aggresive on-field mentality, which he
believes to be one of his most positive attributes.
"I am Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Okaka, and my mum said
to me as a kid: 'Stefano, you transform on the
pitch'," he added.
"It is true, I become the exact opposite. Out with
the good-nature, in there I am a beast that does
not look at anybody. I think it's my strength.
"For 90 minutes I hate all of those who play
against me."
Fourth-placed Sampdoria could rise above Napoli
and into the Champions League qualification
places with a win when the pair face off on
Monday.

-Lets us put the trio of Herrera, Fellaini
and Di Maria in midfield to run the legs
off anything Arsenal can put out, and
still have room for Carrick to shield what
is no doubt going to be a shaky back
line.
-It also keeps Fellaini free from the
responsibility of being an actual
midfielder (in which role he is, let's face
it, only a 4/10) and lets him focus on 1.
Disrupting Arsenal's rhythm (7/10), 2.
Shoring up our aerial defending from set
pieces (7/10), 3. Providing an aerial
threat for our own set pieces and long
balls (9/10) and of course 4. Unsubtly
breaking Sanchez' nose with an elbow if
he's looking too dangerous (10/10).
-Lastly, having Fellaini in that free role
makes the formation very easily
customisable during the game. Need
more width? Sub him off for Januzaj.
More goal-threat? Sub him off for RVP
or Wilson. More defensive stability?
Nope, sorry, everyone who can do that is
crocked. The point stands, though.

You are a very dangerous person. It seems you have missed the last 20 years in molecular genetics, molecular epigenetics, systems biology and complex systems and you write from a fundamentally misinformed base. Let’s just get this straight, you don’t understand how genetics works in a developmental context, and that’s a shame because information ONLY WORKS IN A DEVELOPMENTAL context. You have consistently unabashedly demonstrated that you fundamentally don’t understand, and rather will not even consider the probabististic nature of developmental processes. Your 5th grade conception of biological processes does not qualify you to possess the opinions you have which is because you write in pop-blog. The only thing that bothers me is that people with even less understanding might read your misinformed opinions and mistake them with a scientific consensus.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Buy Arms From Russia by patwilly(m): 6:28pm On Nov 13, 2014
WombRaiders:
America is currently waging diplomatic and economic warfare on Russia, Venezuala, Syria, Brazil and Nigeria.

How do we reconcile the sudden fall in crude pricing in the wake of a diplomatic row between Russia and the US? The answer is simply that this oil crash is coming conveniently on the heels of failed sanction by the west on Russia.

The sanctions did not do much to Russian economy and the Kremlin even sealed a $70 billion dollar gas pipeline deal to supply China.

Putin rather than suck up to NATO demands on Ukraine decided to diversify Russia's energy market into China.

The only solution left for the white house is to crash oil prices in their stock markets ( London and new York).

You have to understand that this is really no great feat by Washington since crude is priced in their markets and their currency the dollar. It is also no biggie for the US also because most of the multinational oil companies drilling all over the planet other than in Russia and China are American owned.

Gaddafi and Chavez were taken out because they wanted to price their own oil on their own terms in another currency other than the dollar. While Gaddafi wanted gold, Chavez wanted a new international currency to be floated. The latter being the origin of BRIC Nations whose sole aim is to float another international currency other than the US dollar.

Unfortunately, Nigeria is so dependent on the trappings of a US controlled energy market that we have become dependent and wary of America's economic warfare. Being dependent on crude does not help us but rather puts us dependent and an unwilling ally to Washington.

Take for example the issue of America blocking arm shipments to help fight the insurgency in the north. Normally, the average man on the streets will simply suggest we look to Russia but it is much more complicated than that.
America can threaten to withdraw existing economic aid, implement travel restrictions, restrict direct investment and patronage in our economy and use the World Bank, IMF and other international banks to further devalue our currency.

This is why in a desperate move, the FG covertly went shopping in south Africa. The Americans found out and used Zuma aids to further disgrace and frustrate this administration.

We all need to wake up and know who our real enemies are.

( sorry for the disjointed post, I'm typing on a damn pad)
so what u are saying now is that Nigeria is like the proverbial fly that perches on one's scrotum. you can't deal it a blow without signing your death warrant. hmm.interesting.

It's very simple. Rooney is versatile enough to do a job across the front lines and in midfield, however it is extremely hypocritical to expect him to pull up trees when being asked to play in the same position as Yaya Toure.

Some of you manyoo fans seriously lack objectivity, and it's so nauseating.
You dont walk into s Man U thread and start talking like you have red hot beans in your mouth. We demand respect and that is exactly what we are going to get! the only reason why you can raise your head and talk about the EPL is because there has always been a very influential Man Utd FC playing in it. The EPL is what it is today because it was fortunate to have Manchester united football Club playing in it!! Not Chelsea, not Tottenham, Not Liverpool, not Manchester City and certainly not any penny pinching-goody-two-shoes Àrsenal Fc!! What club do you support anyway? Arsenal?Chelsea? these clubs are still a big laugh irrespective of whatever football it is they play today! So Speak with some Fckkinng respect dude!!

Reference:
Their corps is not into those sort of things. These ones don't even need to handle conventional weapons. They service the 'teeth' arms of infantry, armoured, artillery and to some extent signals corps with the means to sustain campaigns or operations by providing power, repairing damaged or broken down tanks, self propelled guns and the likes.

Honestly when the President declares a state of emergency on power or wishes to protect the nations pipelines from vandals or wishes to rid the highways of intransigent trucks and truckers or make the railways work despite sabotage, these are the square pegs for the job because they have a certain level of know-how but with much more teeth. That is knowledge the average rampaging paramilitary man does not have and balls of steel to get things done which the average 'bloody civilian' hasn't either.

We have a lot of resources in this country going to waste. The leaking faucet in the desert syndrome and the sheer lack of critical thinking, new ideas is one of our biggest challenges here in Nigeria.
I endorse this post. kudos.

No Berem. Tatiana and LastOkpaBender are just correcting the ignorant misconception that homosexuality is limited to man alone. other animals engage in it also. I think many are getting carried away here. This is not an issue about whether the act of homosexuality is right or wrong. That is a different argument altogether.

OP stated that a man jumped in to defend a gay couple that were about to be set-upon by a lynch mob. OP simply wanted to know if the good samaritan was right to intervene or not. It is a simple enough question same as asking if white folks who risked their lives, to prevent the savage lynching of black people by racist lynch mobs in slave-trading period and the times shortly after that, should have intervened or simply looked on.

It may not be in the heart of many Nairalanders to intervene as the good samaritan did but is it wrong that this man followed his humanitarian instinct and respect for the sanctity of life to the extent he got involved to prevent the lynching of two men in cold bold by an ALUU mob who arrogate upon themselves the right to murder homosexuals?
Gbawe do you believe in God?

Notice that there are few names of Northern origin among the retired Generals. Northerners have traditionally preferred combat/teeth arm roles like the infantry, armour etc over support/non-teeth arm roles like engineering etc. interesting.

Interesting topic. Methinks it depends on d lady. I never cooked for my bfs, I never saw d need to visit him n start cooking....for what naa...that isn't in d T&Cs of our relationship. When we are hungry we go out to eat or just nibble on snacks around his house. When he visits me, same thing. It used to amuse me when I see my friends cooking, cleaning n doing laundry for a bf! And then after some months, d affair is all over, so what was d essence of all that labour of "love"? It's more rewarding cooking for my husband n kids.....taking good care of my family, not slaving for a "waka come waka go" grin
