I did not set out to plant tomato at the beginning. My plan was to plant palm trees and plantain together. But got my fingers burnt through the supplier of the palm(story for another thread)

I got 6.5 acres my friend also joined me with 10 acres totalling 16.5 acres. With plan to plant tomato all year round.

We have started and will be sharing my experience here.

Those ones in the rural areas make money during the raining season as some of those who have events such as burials, do sought out there services to prevent rainfall!

Did you get to watch the Canola oil episode on Smart Farm few weeks ago? I hear someone is coming over to Kenya from Nigeria very soon to come understudy the cultivation of the seeds, harvesting and processing into oil and packaging. It is said Canola seeds matures for harvest within 90days and a acre gives 2 tonnes at harvest from which 500 litres of canola oil is processed from. Saw a litre at the supermarket earlier in the week selling for N850.

We can't wait on government, creative minds can come up with programmes with a refreshing delivery as against the NTA's insipid presentations. l know such programmes would be a hit amongst Nigerians. lanre2009 knows how the presenter of Seeds of Gold, makes it interesting as he puts fun into it and moreover there are many other agro related programme in different TV stations competing for viewership. Like you said there are lots of untapped territories in Nigeria.

l don't need to be told that the milk are bought off! Someone is thinking of setting up pasteurised milk dispensing outlets in Lagos.

In a remarkable coincidence, I got a Sallah present from my Farm today.

The Brown Swiss cross dairy cow in my farm today gave birth to a female calf. The calf is a cross between brown swiss (25%) + Friesian (50%) + Gudali (25%).

Though l know such did happen way back, where during filling the forms for the entrance examination some parents from the South, did fill in Northern states as their state of origin to boot their children chances to get admitted. Had a classmate in primary school who is from Imo state like me, his parents outsmarted the system by filling in Sokoto state as his state of origin and that got him FGC Ijanikin.
