It's not always true. Accepting Christ doesn't automatically make rich or turn your life around as some people assumed. However, you may experience turn around in your life in there are spiritual issues hindering your progress i.e after you might have prayed for changes and your life style would change for good too.

He meant spiritual law, not physical laws.
The statement is like saying He who believed and later doubted, is not fit for the kingdom.
