The scripture is very straightforward

In the context of this scripture, walking in darkness means "to say we have no sin ".

he is simply saying those who do not accept Christ are in the flesh, compared to those who accept Christ that they are in the spirit.
And the fruits of the spirit are love, joy peace, long-suffering, goodness, etc
And as such, since they are in the spirit, these works of the flesh does not manifest in them in the spirit.

1. At the time of Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus was not yet crucified. Hence there were no Christians then.

I mean, if you identify a Christian who is a chronic sinner and you go to his house and start shouting, you will go to hell fire. He has the right to throw you out of his house and there is nothing you can do about it.
So, anything that has to do with heaven or hell, you are not the one to judge.
You can only leave the judgement for God to do because you didn't create one soul, or do you?

what you are complaining isn't what is obtain able in developed societies.
What has happened in Africa over the years is that, our schools that was suppose to educate the population have failed us.
Consequently, The church, The mosque, The national constitution, The Judiary, The traditions, cultures and family have all failed.

We are now a nation living in the shadow of reality .

It will take a very sensitive political leader who understands the power of education, and who is willing to restructure the education sector for better, to turn things around.

the question one will ask is, who is then a Christian?

Because, many of us not knowing who a Christian should be, is causing confusion in Christianity

until I was in my early 20s. Many people are like me up till now.

Many people go to church in Nigeria just to table their problems before God alone, the gospel is really being preached in most churches. The reason some people go to church is to do money doubler– they pay tithes so that God can (return) bless them in multiple folds this is the reason some are faithful to paying tithe.

actually,these are secondary reasons why people go to church.

In church, you can never see for example devoted Muslims there.
Everyone you see in church were either born into Christian homes and were brought up by Christian parents to be Christians and churchgoers, or they were preached to, and were converted from their previous religion, example Islam, into Christianity.
This is the primary reason that you see people in churches.

With this fact in mind, the question is, who is a Christian?

A Christian is not someone who attends church meetings or someone born in a Christian home. A Christian is someone who has believed(convinced) in the resurrection of Christ Jesus from the dead. This person is saved from eternal condemnation.

But everyone born in a Christian home by virture of the fact that they were brought up by their Christian parents to believe, and everyone attending church meetings have believed in the resurrection of Christ Jesus that's why they are there.
otherwise they will be in mosques being Muslims and not believing in Christ.
Or they will be atheists not going to church at all.
Or they will be traditionalists being in shrines and not church.

Have you ever consider that Faith is what justifies to eternal life. and your faith is your religion?

Rather you should be asking, how were you converted from your previous religion or Faith into the Christian Faith which is required for your salvation?

According to the Bible, this is the sin that can never be forgiven - Blaspheming or Speaking against the Holy Ghost.

in the context of that scripture, to blaspheme means to reject the holy spirit.
You can't talk bad about the holy spirit unless you are not a believer of the holy spirit.
And who was the holy spirit that was talked bad against?
He was Jesus Christ himself.

So, in the nutshell, blaspheming against the holy spirit which implies talking bad against Jesus Christ is simply rejecting to believe in Christ for your salvation.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

It is not possible for a Christian to blaspheme against the holy spirit seeing that he is a believer.

Therefore, there is no sin that cannot be forgiven except the sin of unbelief.
Only an unbeliever will blasheme against Christ.
