Reserved for No 25 THE DEMON IN MY VIEW.(Post 2) DESIGNER'S NAME: My designer is ITBomb WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE TOPIC: I choose the topic because its catchy, and brings the opportunity of addressing one our biggest problems as africans. WHAT UNIQUE EXPIRIENCE DID YOU DERIVE WORKING WITH YOUR DESIGNER: ITBomb really taught me patience, it got to a time i almost gave up, as we knw he did for a lot of people even with the same poem title, and at some points there were mix ups, he was even almost quitting. I got my design last, but i must tell you ITBomb is really the bomb. WHAT WERE THE CONSTRAINTS INVOLVED IN WORKING IN A TEAM: As we all know working in a team requires understanding and tolerance, i and ITBomb misunderstood ourselves at some point but tolerance got in and we worked out something beautiful. TELL US EVERYTHING WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR POEM: The poem has three stanzas, and its basically addressing us africans as we being the major problems of ourselves. The first stanza enlist the problems, fully detailed, but in anonimity, it shows us the kinds of bad things we do to ourselves unaware, without revealing the source of the problems. The second stanza is the shortest, the focal point and as real as it comes. It unveils the demon, labelling it unexpectedly as you and i. The third stanza is a wake up call, telling us to wake up and offering some solutions to these problems. Its tells us to come out of our scaled skins, see things how it really is not being wise in our own eyes and reminds us that these problems that appears so big can be solved easily. WHY DID THE DESIGNER USE THE DESIGN, PICTURE, VISUALS AND EVERY COMPONENT OF THE DESIGN: ITBomb fully understanding my concept, showed an expression of a man stretching out his hands to hold back a big shoe, and a white hand holding a chain. The big shoe is the oppressor, the man represents the people, though he looks lean but strong enough to withhold the problem, the white hand with a chain represent the whites. There is also a caption saying 'they made us hate ourselves and love their wealth', which itself is self explanatory. THE MEANING OF TERM, TERMINOLOGIES, FIGURE OF SPEECH AND DESIGN OR WHAT THEY SIGNIFY: The design and what they signify has been adressed in the last question, the poem is straightforward so there is no difficult figure of spech or terminologies apart from a little vocabulary such as: Cantankerous: uncooperative, bad-tempered. Remora: a fish that exhibit symbiosm relationship with the shark. Tumultous: loud, uprarious, disorderly. |
Number 25 THE DEMON IN MY VIEW The man behind the troubled waters, The war-stirring being in the turbulent wind, The immortal cantankerous roaches... in the dark rooms of our hearts, The orchestrator of the tumultous clouds... that brings a downpour of chaos, The mind burglar that steals our ideas and sell to the enemies, The evil genius we seek everyday to destroy. He is the man in the mirror, He is YOU...yes YOU. But whose fault, Our values constantly robbed like a loose vault, The black man has gone black, The remora now an enemy of the shark, With our thoughts festooned in the dark, When you go black you never go back they say; but as it get whiter it gets shallow, Oh ye africans come out ot your burrow, For how long shall we pull ourselves down, For how long shall we laugh not knowing we are the clown, How cunny is the slave driver... when his children are the slaves, How civilised is the genius... when he still live in the caves.
