Christianity EtcRe: Atheists & Freethinkers: Please Expand Further On This. by Pdizzle(m): 5:38pm On Jun 24, 2016
ValentineMary:
Historically, exorcisms have been used to
treat a wide variety of symptoms that are
now associated with mental issues. People
with schizophrenia, personality issues,
delusions, hallucinations, or severe depression
might all have been considered candidates for
exorcisms in generations past. Each of these
issues can, in some cases, cause unusual or
frightening behavior.
In a culture where many believe certain
behaviors may be caused by demonic
possession, the manifestations of mental
health issues may conform to popular
mythology. A person with schizophrenia
might, for example, believe he or she hears
the voice of Satan, or that he or she is in fact
Satan, because he or she grew up amid
culturally ingrained messages that this is
possible.
Even in contemporary times, people with
mental issues may be subject to exorcisms,
particularly in devoutly religious communities
and developing countries. Epilepsy, which can
cause severe seizures, may lead to exorcism
being performed. Substance abuse, head
injuries, and brain tumors can also
dramatically alter behavior, leading someone
to appear possessed.

Mental issues can cause strange behavior,
and people tend to conform to expectations.
This means a person experiencing an
exorcism is more likely to act in ways he or
she has heard of others behaving during
exorcisms. Exorcisms sometimes also involve
the use of potions, drugs, or fasting, each of
which can induce violent illness and strange
behavior. Starvation can affect brain function,
and the stress of an exorcism may radically
alter behavior.
Thanks Val, nice submission but i think we can't really put it that people don't get possessed, considering that this method of reading few words to the victim by the priest is effective most of the time.
Another angle I'll like you to look is thunderbolt, the yorubas call it magun.
I think juju is both physical and spiritual and has different level of complexities.

It's all psychology. Let us take for instance I have a sick brother and I tell him that calling the name of Galileo would heal him, and my brother firmly believes, and calls on Galileo, they is a high probability that he would be healed. Why? because physiological recovery is usually accompanied with psychological recoverer (many physician have proven this). Similar thing happens in christianity. The people believe so if by any chance they get healed or better, they attribute it to the name(s) they called. This us what we call confirmation bias.
Juju could be unexplainable science, there's a possibility, but what do you say about people that don't believe in juju and it still works against them. I believe your explanation is talking about the placebo effect.
Expantiate on exorcism, people that don't even have control of themselves can't possibly undergo placebo effect or confirmation bias. The Catholics and Muslims have different ways of exorcism and it's effective.

She was actually in love, and i commend her for making tough but good decisions. She not holding on blindly and has decided to live her life.
Flavour is something else, you don't have to spread your seeds everywhere because of fame, many did and regretted. He has marred that girl's life with sweet mouth.

Just look at the countries you are mentioning and comparing to America and Europe. So If you have the opportunity to become a citizen of UK or Italy for instance, you would reject it to become a citizen of India or China because the development of those countries can be looked at from the same perspective.Right?

Oh the early rulers of the world laid the foundation for world development so what happened to Africa and the rest of the world. Do you even travel at all, or you are here exposing your ignorance.

I think you are a poor student of history to not appreciate the role christianity revival awakening played in the development of Europe and Western countries.

Read about the exploits of Paul Youngie Cho ministry in South Korea and its correlation to the development of South Korea then you can appreciate what I am trying to say.
Mr travel round the world, the fact remains these countries are developed countries, the only reason people troop in Europe and America more from Africa is language correlation, even with these barriers people still troop in Asia, go and check Nigerians studying in Malaysia .

Give me name facts and figures of how revival developed Scandinavian countries; which are the best places to live in the world, everyone knows these places for their intersexual, gay, lesbianism and sex change agendas, abi God like that one too?

So these so called countries built their countries on revival and went ahead to take slaves and treat them in humanly and was still happy with them.

Nigeria have great men of God and great revivals has been happening since the time of Oshoffa, Orimolade, Akindayomi, Ayo Babalola, so all those ones couldn't bring us out of this misery? Even today we have the biggest congregations in the world, you mean all those Holy Ghost camp, Cannan land, Mountain of fire camp, Deeper life camp, Camp Camp Camp everywhere that does nothing for the country rather than cause traffic jam on the highways can't help us?, but Youngie Sho's own can help north Korea.

Malaysia was just like us in 1959, came to get palm fruits from us, and they had just one good and determined leader, and things changed for them, now Nigerians are trooping there. Which revival happened there.
See I'm not undermining God, but a lazy nation with bad leaders will remain backward, if una like do revival from now to next year.

I am of the Isoko tribe of Delta State and I, my family and many Isoko sons and daughters reject this backward stuff. Jesus Christ is the true God and died for all of us to be saved and redeemed. We choose to be liberated to follow christianity of the Bible not some pagan idolatory religion.

Many people might not know that part of the major problems of Africa is its foundation. Our fore fathers were neck deep into idolatory.God had stated he would visit the sin of Idolatory to children childrens even till the 4th generation.A generation is 100 years, so do the maths

To show you how true this is.If you look at Europe, it was founded on great spiritual revivival, the prosperity of europe was built on a great spiritual awakening. Check the early inventors from europe most where christians, same thing with America they have a christian foundation. So they dont struggle to achieve feats, no evil foundation of their fathers house is fighting them. If you look at the Native American tribes of the US and Canada who are also called red indians. They are neck deep into idolatory. They worship fire, the earth and other terrestrial stuff.
If you look at their lives, you cannot but pity them because of their poverty and backwardness. They go about begging in the city from even immigrants for survival. You can imagine how bad their situation is.
Idolatory has a positive correlation with backwardness.
You failed to mention North Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, Indians... Are these people christians too?
The early rulers of the world were the black Egyptians and they laid foundation for the world developments with existing monuments no one can explain how they came by. A lot of early inventors are atheists, and Einstein was agnostic.
I'm a Christian too, so bring up excuse for our backwardness, all the bad leaders we've had have either been Christains or Muslims, and we even had a more organized system before the whites came.
Europe was not built on any revival, Americans have lots of cult societies and they ain't even as religious as us. They are just smart, hardworking and disciplined.
Christianity EtcRe: Was Mother Theresa Agnostic? by Pdizzle(m): 5:11pm On Jun 08, 2016
Anyone who really thinks must have at one time or more doubt the existence of an all powerful supreme being. I think God should understand.

Like Al Pacino said in 'devil's advocate'; Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off! He's a tight-ass! He's a SADIST! He's an absentee landlord! Worship that? NEVER!

I still believe in him tho, but the rules are really set in the opposite.

You can also use it to detect if a camera is planted in your hotel room, just make sure the room is dark and switch on the camera, move it around, if you see a red dot anywhere that's a recording camera.

Of course there are forces controlling the universe itself and they are.

- Electromagnetism
-Weak Nuclear force
-Strong nuclear force
-Gravitation

You may none the less explain your own forces if there are different from the basic ones i listed and then tell us in what way they control this world and remarkably out of countless planets only this world.
I know these forces exists and they govern everything. But what about forces that actually take note of your morality here on earth, are you saying there are none?
I've been having deep thoughts about religion lately, i remember asking my friend who's a muslim why you have to learn the Quran in the Arabic language and even throw a party when you've fully mastered it.
He told me that's the language of God, i was like you mean God created us equally, and he chose one language over another? He was getting emotional and i had to drop the argument but it got me thinking.
