All these arguments wonā€™t matter because Peseiro will resign after this AFCON šŸ˜

Peseiro is now the first foreign coach since Bonfrere Jo, in 2000, to lead Naija to the AFCON finals

Nigeria have now won 3 successive AFCON penalty shootouts, a run that started in 2006 (v. Tunisia), 2010 (v. Zambia), and now 2024 (v. South Africa)

Frank Onyeka will miss the final match due to the second yellow card he picked up today

I thought single yellow cards were wiped off after the quarter finals?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by PDPGuy: 9:21pm On Feb 07
Nwabali is the first Africa-based goalkeeper to lead Nigeria to an AFCON final since Emmanuel Okala did so in 1984

Jose Peseiro becomes the first foreign coach to lead Nigeria to the AFCON final in 24 years, since Dutchman Bonfrere Jo achieved the same feat in 2000.

Since being eliminated on penalty shootouts by Tunisia at the 2004 AFCON, Nigeria have now prevailed in their 3 successive shootouts in the competition. The SE eliminated Tunisia at the 2006 quarterfinals; eliminated Zambia at the 2010 semifinal; and now eliminated South Africa at the 2024 semifinals.

Problem however is that we don't have the same squad and the USA has a better squad than 4 years ago. Not expectant though I hope someone like Amy balls out so she can get in the radar of WNBA teams.
Yeah
Itā€™s gonna be an uphill battle for sure. Iā€™m sure Amy would want to put on a show against US, so I wonā€™t expect her to be slacking in that game

I think Dtigress can beat Belgium and Senegal. And give the Americans a tough game. It is all about FOCUS and TACTICS.
Youā€™re spot on with your last sentence. I recall that Dā€™Tigress were 5 mins away from recording a famous win over the U.S. 4 years ago(in fact that game was tied with 2 mins to go), but their slightly superior talent prevailed.
So the key to being competitive against the U.S., on Friday, would be to keep it tight at the back and attack with precision

Their training camp roster was already indicative of the kind of squad they are bringing. This again brings to the fore why Arike Ogunbowale isn't considering switching allegiances. It's obvious she won't make the Olympics team seeing she didn't even make the qualifying round. A'ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray were excused cause A'ja had prior commitments and Cheltis nursing an injury. These players both have a sure slot for Paris. Really can't see how Arike makes the team cause she's a liability defensively (even though she improved on it last season).

She should keep ignoring Nigeria till itā€™s too lateā€¦ For the past 4 years or thereabout, a national team has been inviting you to countless training camps, but has never selected you for a major tournament, yet youā€™re still nursing a false hope.

I think itā€™s a misplaced priority for LASG to be thinking of setting up an airline at this time, considering the FOREX issues bedeviling Naija.

Whatever equity that LASG would want to invest in that venture would be better off channeled towards maintaining/improving public infrastructure, or even bonuses to its civil servants..

My hope is that the Super Falcons, Falconets, and Flamingoes would all appear at their respective global tournaments this year.

Remarkably, the last time that the SF, Falconets and Flamingoes played at the Olympics, U-20 WC, and U-17 WC, respectively, in the same year was back in 2008ā€¦

Mumu guy. Na stadium be him target? Smh.

So because Orji uzo Kalu used his massive sponsorship of enyimba FC in 2002/2003...2003/2004 that saw them win two CAF champions league on the trot to endear himself to football loving Abians before milking them dry...and the subsequent orjis continued where he stopped, Otti feels that what he needs to get people's love is building a stadium?

People will watch football on empty stomach?

Well, we donā€™t know the full details of the proposed stadium: whether it would have shopping spaces, as we see in some other countries. If it comes with shops, then I wonā€™t criticize this project cos the governor would be further enabling commerce in the state.

So there was a thread on FP earlier this week that has PDP claiming the newly sworn-in Kogi governor created an office for former governor

https://www.nairaland.com/7985343/office-immediate-past-governor-created#128193850

Then there was another thread about the governor reacting to the news and claiming the news as fake. The claim the rumour is the work of mischief makers

https://www.nairaland.com/7985821/reports-office-immediate-past-governor#128200846

But now a video of the governor has surfaced on the Internet in which he was advising the people of Kogi to obey an order from the former governor Yahaya Bello and ignore his own if there was ever a time both of them give contrasting orders

https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2xjFjAoaaQ/?igsh=MTgxNTcxb2c0MzY5Mg==

How can such state experience real development/progress?šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I honestly donā€™t know what to say againā€¦ Our politics surely have a long way to go. Smh
