The grand jury is convened solely to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to charge someone for a crime. It is not a court at both the federal and state levels in the US.

Besides, at a grand jury proceeding, the accused has no right to confront his accusers via cross-examination. It’s only the prosecution that is allowed to present its evidence. However, in a trial court, the accused always has a right to cross-examine the prosecution witnesses (based on the 6th amendment to the US constitution) and challenge the evidence presented against him.

The grand jury does not determine whether the accused is guilty or innocent: that is the job of the petit jury at the trial court

Not exactly. Hushpuppi was being investigated for fraud and money laundering -some of which affected Americans. In the course of being investigated, all his financial transactions will be exhumed and anyone he sent monies to will be seen. They obviously saw the sum sent to that Zenith account and asked him questions about it, it turned out to be Abba Kyari's 3rd party account so they asked Hushpuppi some questions and based on his answer felt they had probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Kyari. Please take note that contrary to emotional opinions of people who know nihil, arrest warrants are not obtained based on "strong evidence that the FBI might have". Probable cause just means that the FBI have more than a mere suspicion that a suspect committed a crime, but not as much information as would be required to prove the suspect guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. What evidence do they have? Going from final to initial - Kyari got paid by Hush - Kyari did what Hush asked him to do - Hush asked Kyari to arrest Chibuzo - Chibuzo threatened to double cross Hush - Hush and Chibuzo worked together in a scam.

From the timeline of events, the FBI cannot place Kyari at the beginning of the process - they don't have evidence to do that. They cannot place him in stage 2. They can only see him from stages 3 to 5. Does this prove beyond reasonable doubt that Kyari knew and got involved in scamming the Qatari man? It does not. How so? Kyari might be a corrupt police officer (the money trail shows it) but if Chibuzo was in possession of a stolen car and Kyari knew about this and used it as a reason to get him arrested, it is still within his power. To the law, it does not really matter that Hush paid him to arrest Chibuzo. It may not be "good" but it does not make it wrong. It will only be wrong if Kyari planted incriminating evidence on Chibuzo to get him arrested. On police ethics, Kyari can be punished, but not by the U.S. If Kyari admits he was paid to do a hatchet job but that Chibuzo actually did commit a crime punishable by an arrest, the U.S have nothing on him. The FBI are trying to find out if the payment Kyari received is directly related to scamming the Qatari man. They do not have evidence that it is and nothing we have seen or heard so far proves that he did.

According to the court documents obtained by Vanguard, DCP Abba Kyari “together with others known and unknown to the Grand Jury, knowingly conspired to commit wire fraud, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1343”.”

One doesn’t need a law degree to know that for the court document to show “ United States of America vs ....” it means the scam was commited either against an American or on American soil .

Even the court document shows he’s being tried by the LA office of FBI which means the crime happened within that jurisdiction...... but u see , some people will just say anything just to keep an argument going .

Actually, it’s the US Attorney’s office that is prosecuting the case. Anyway, what many don’t know is that even if an individual commits a crime against a US person or entity, while being out of the US, the FBI still has jurisdiction to go after that suspected criminal.
Therefore, even as Abba Kyari was chilling at Sheraton hotel in Abuja, while assisting Hushpupi in his fraudulent crimes, Kyari is rightly being declared wanted by the FBI.

Moreover, a statute passed by Congress in the mid 1980s, gives the FBI the jurisdiction to investigate crimes committed against US citizens/entities outside US soil. So, if a fraudster defrauds a US citizen while that US citizen was on vacation in Accra, the FBI would investigate the matter, and possibly refer the case to a US Attorney for prosecution

You are making a more convincing argument than most but I can play the opposition for a second. Kyari cannot be tried in US for a crime committed by a non-american not committed in the US and which does not directly impact americans. Next, the fact that we know why he arrested Chibuzo does not mean we know how he did it. What I mean is, if he actually used something he had on Chibuzo as reason for arresting him, it is immaterial that he was solicited by hush to do it. The Nigerian judiciary and police service commission can extend punitive measures to him, but it hardly plays any role in the US. Kyari has probably burnt his chances of ever becoming an IGP in future but if he was in the know concerning the scam, Hush would not have needed to explain why he wanted Chibuzo nailed. And if per adventure Hush explained the intricacies of the deal (which would then make Kyari complicit and an assessory to the crime) the FBI will need to provide evidence of this - which they did not do and do not even claim to have.

You’re partially right: pre-nups cannot waive child support, but can waive spousal-support.
So, if a pre-nup stipulates that, in the event of a divorce the spouse who has custody of the kids won’t receive any child support payments, a court will rule that such a clause is unenforceable.
