If the Japanese authorities are able to allow fans into baseball and football stadiums as from July 10, nothing stops UEFA from opening the finals of both the UCL and Europa League to fans in August.

Of course, such a decision would have to be based on the prevalence rate of COVID-19 within Europe. And I’ll be in favor of any measure to ban fans living outside Europe from attending both finals.

CareerHow To Answer, ‘Why Do You Want To Work Here?’ by PDPGuy(op): 9:59pm On Jun 14, 2020
Why do you want to work here? It’s a common interview question, but also one that can be challenging to answer, especially when you try to wing it. Not preparing a solid response to this question is risky because it could make all the difference in whether a potential employer extends a job offer to you — or not.

Why is this interview question so important? Think of it from the employer’s perspective: The business wants to hire someone who believes strongly in the company’s mission and wants to make a positive impact on the organization and its clients or customers. Also, searching for a candidate who is a strong fit for the position and the company can be a costly and time-consuming process. So, hiring managers want to help their employer realize a good return on their investment.

When might you hear the “Why do you want to work here?” question? At any point in the job interview, really. However, you’re most likely to encounter it early in the meeting, when the interviewer may use it to set the tone for the conversation. It can also come up toward the end of the interview, as the hiring manager seeks to confirm your interest and enthusiasm for the opportunity now that you’ve learned more about it.

Examples of what not to say:

Exactly how you should respond to the question of “Why do you want to work here?” depends on the job and the organization — and, of course, you and how you want to express yourself. Knowing how to formulate a meaningful response to suit most any interview situation begins with understanding what employers probably don’t want to hear. Some examples include:

“Honestly, I just need a job and this one looked interesting.” This is a candid response, to be sure. But it does nothing to demonstrate a sincere interest in the role or company. Plus, the hiring manager might have concerns that you’d be quick to leave the firm for another opportunity you find more compelling.

“I’ve heard this company offers good pay and benefits.” Any company wants to be viewed as an employer of choice, and leading firms recognize that they must offer competitive compensation to hire top talent. That said, they don’t want to recruit people whose primary motivation to work for the business is money.

“I see this as a step to bigger and better things.” While no employer expects every worker to stay with the organization for the long term, a response like this one implies you’re more focused on the future than the now. It also suggests that you already have one foot out the door before you’ve even been hired.

Rolling out your response with a smooth lead-in

When you’re asked, “Why do you want to work here?”or “Why are you interested in this position?” in an actual interview situation, you want to deliver your prepared answer in a way that sounds polished but natural. Consider using one of the following lead-ins as the inspiration for crafting your tailored response:

“I see this opportunity as a way to contribute to an exciting/forward-thinking/fast-moving company/industry, and I feel I can do so by/with my … ”
“I feel my skills are particularly well-suited to this position because … ”
“I believe I have the type of knowledge to succeed in this role and at the company because … ”
“I’m excited about this job opportunity, as it would allow me to … ”

garetz:
Trump believes in people's fundamental human Rights, including the rights of gays. What he doesn't believe in is using one group's rights to infringe on another group's rights. Obama was satanic, he elevated gay rights above every other rights. Christians were being arrested for refusing to take part in same sex marriage ceremonies because their faith doesn't allow that. A Christian Baker was jailed because he refused to bake cake for gay wedding, a pastor was jailed for refusing to preside over a gay wedding. These are private citizens not government officials. Why should gay rights supersede the rights of Christians to practice their religion in peace? Obama was a devilish person.
How did Obama elevate the rights of gays over others?

I don't believe Obama was a perfect president or politician, he had his flaws; but its totally disingenuous to say that Obama elevated gay rights above other rights. The case of a Christian baker being jailed has absolutely nothing to do with Obama. The Obama DOJ never ordered any local PD to supposedly arrest bakers who refused to lend their services to same-sex couples. Neither did Obama or his DOJ order pastors to be jailed for refusing to officiate at same-sex weddings.

Any query about a supposed diminishing of rights of non homosexual people should be directed towards the local jurisdictions that enacted those rules.

He's the president of every American both insane and the weak, he can't leave anyone behind. The problem facing America right now is bigger than what two adults are doing under the sheets behind close doors, we are talking about losing the greatest country known to man here.

I have my own opinion about gays but I will do exactly what Trump is doing to protect them if they are in danger, they are still human beings.

If Trump is pro gays, he would have allowed them to fly gay flags all over the US embassies as the deepstate asked last year to pit Trump against the LGBTQ, but Trump stood his ground and said no.
Haha..

PoliticsLagos To Conclude 4th Mainland Bridge Financial Foreclosure Next Year by PDPGuy(op): 4:46pm On Jun 06, 2020
Shortlists 14 Chinese, seven Nigerian firms

The Lagos State government yesterday said that it would conclude financial foreclosure for the 38-kilometre 4th Mainland Bridge project before the end of first quarter of 2021.

The financial foreclosure is the last stage of the bidding process before construction works commence on the bridge, which is expected to be completed in three years.

Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Works and Infrastructure, Mrs. Aramide Adeyoye, who disclosed this during a press briefing at Alausa, Ikeja, stressed that 14 Chinese, three Spanish and seven Nigerian firms and a Mexican firm had been shortlisted from the 52 firms that showed Expression of Interest (EoI) on the project.

Adeyoye said the 4th Mainland Bridge, which had been in the pipework for about 20 years, was intended to provide a useful additional link between the Lagos Mainland (Ikorodu) and the Eti-Osa corridor in consonance with the state’s Transport Master Plan (STMP) and the Eti Osa/Ikorodu Master Plan, with the adoption of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) as the procurement model.

She stressed that the state was determined to make an informed decision on the project at the best interest of Lagosians irrespective where the funding is coming from. She also said that the construction of Pen Cinema flyover and access roads in Agege, had been scheduled for completion in September this year.

Also, the special adviser said the state government was determined to complete the outstanding works on the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road, which is currently at 92 per cent stage of completion.

Foreign AffairsBiden Formally Clinches Democratic Presidential Nomination by PDPGuy(op): 4:26am On Jun 06, 2020
Joe Biden formally clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Friday, setting him up for a bruising challenge to President Donald Trump that will play out against the unprecedented backdrop of a pandemic, economic collapse and civil unrest.

“It was an honor to compete alongside one of the most talented groups of candidates the Democratic party has ever fielded," Biden said in a statement Friday night, ”and I am proud to say that we are going into this general election a united party."

The former vice president has effectively been his party's leader since his last challenger in the Democratic primary, Bernie Sanders, ended his campaign in April. But Biden pulled together the 1,991 delegates needed to become the nominee after seven states and the District of Columbia held presidential primaries Tuesday.

Biden reached the threshold three days after the primaries because several states, overwhelmed by huge increases in mail ballots, took days to tabulate results. Teams of analysts at The Associated Press then parsed the votes into individual congressional districts. Democrats award most delegates to the party’s national convention based on results in individual congressional districts.

Biden now has 1,993 delegates, with contests still to come in eight states and three U.S. territories.

The moment was met with little of the traditional fanfare as the nation confronts overlapping crises. While Biden has started to venture out more this week, the coronavirus pandemic has largely confined him to his Wilmington, Delaware, home for much of the past three months.

The country faces the worst rate of unemployment since the Great Depression. And civil unrest that harkens back to the 1960s has erupted in dozens of cities following the death of George Floyd, a black man who died when a white Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee into Floyd's neck for several minutes even after he stopped moving and pleading for air.

It's a confluence of events that no U.S. leader has faced in modern times, made all the more complicated by a president who has at times antagonized the protesters and is eager to take the fight to Biden.

“This is a difficult time in America’s history,” Biden said Friday night. “And Donald Trump’s angry, divisive politics is no answer. The country is crying out for leadership. Leadership that can unite us. Leadership that can bring us together.”

Biden spent 36 years in the Senate before becoming Barack Obama's vice president. This is 77-year-old Biden's third bid for the presidency and his success in capturing the Democratic nomination was driven by strong support from black voters.

He finished an embarrassing fourth place in the overwhelmingly white Iowa caucuses that kicked off the nomination process in February. Biden fared little better in the New Hampshire primary, where his standing was so low that he left the state before polls closed on election night to instead rally black voters in South Carolina.

His rebound began in the more diverse caucuses in Nevada but solidified in South Carolina, where Biden stomped Sanders, his nearest rival, by nearly 29 points. He followed that with a dominant showing three days later during the Super Tuesday contests, taking 10 of the 14 states.

Biden's strong showing in states such as North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and Texas reinforced his status as the preferred Democratic candidate of African American voters — but the relationship has not been without its strained moments. After a tense exchange with an influential black radio host, Biden took sharp criticism for suggesting that African American voters still deciding between him and Trump “ain't black.”

That comment, and protests that have spread nationwide, have increased pressure on Biden to pick an African American running mate. He has already committed to picking a woman as a vice presidential candidate.

Black voters are unlikely to back Trump over Biden by a wide margin. A recent Fox News poll shows just 14% of African Americans who are registered to vote have a favorable opinion of the president compared with 75% who favorably view Biden.

But Biden must ensure that black voters are motivated to show up to the polls in November, especially in critical swing states that narrowly went for Trump in 2016.

At one point, the Democratic primary included dozens of candidates of different races, genders and generations and an openly gay man. The contest was dominated by debate over unapologetically progressive ideas, including fully government-funded health care under “Medicare for All” and a sweeping proposal to combat climate change known as the “Green New Deal.”

Biden prevailed by mostly offering more moderate approaches that he argued would make him more electable against Trump.

He refused to budge on his rejection of universal health care and some of the Green New Deal's most ambitious provisions to combat climate change.

Since clinching the nomination, however, Biden has worked to build his appeal among progressives, forming joint task forces with Sanders' campaign to find common ground on key issues like health care, the economy and the environment. Biden has also embraced a plan to forgive millions of Americans' student debt, meaning that he clinches the nomination as easily the most liberal standard bearer the Democratic Party has ever had.

Biden's embrace of his party's left flank could help him consolidate a Democratic base that remained deeply divided after the 2016 primary and ultimately hurt Hillary Clinton in her defeat to Trump. But it could also undermine Biden's attempts to rebuild the Obama coalition, which is often loosely defined as minorities and young people, as well as educated Americans and some working-class voters.

The former vice president has sought, since announcing his candidacy, to cast the election as a battle “for the soul of the nation," and promised to restore order and dignity to the White House while rehabilitating the U.S. image on the world stage. Such an approach, though, necessarily focuses on being more of an alternative to Trump than offering radically new political ideas. And that further underscores Biden's difficult task of trying to unite his party's base while appealing to voters from far beyond it.

“I am going to spend every day between now and November 3rd fighting to earn the votes of Americans all across this great country,” Biden promised Friday, “so that, together, we can win the battle for the soul of this nation, and make sure that as we rebuild our economy, everyone comes along.”

Quinnipiac poll shows Trump, Biden neck and neck in Texas

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/500952-quinnipiac-poll-shows-trump-biden-neck-and-neck-in-texas

President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are running neck and neck in Texas, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday, suggesting that the longtime Republican stronghold may be in play in 2020.

The poll shows Trump with a narrow lead over presumptive Democratic nominee Biden, 44 percent to 43 percent, well within the survey’s 2.9 percentage point margin of error.

Among voters from their respective parties, Biden has a slight edge. Ninety percent of Democrats said they would vote for the former vice president in November, while 87 percent of Republicans said they plan to cast their ballots for Trump.

In another positive sign for Biden, independents said they favor him over Trump, 45 percent to 36 percent, according to the Quinnipiac poll.

Fox News Poll: Biden leads Trump in Wisconsin
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-biden-leads-trump-in-wisconsin

Biden has a 9-point edge over President Donald Trump, 49-40 percent. That’s up from a 5-point advantage in January, and is outside the poll’s margin of sampling error. Another 11 percent are uncommitted.

A big reason Trump trails Biden is lack of party support: 85 percent of Republicans back him, while 93 percent of Democrats support Biden. Eight percent of Republicans defect to Biden. In addition, only 87 percent of those who approve of Trump’s job performance support his reelection.

The president receives some of his highest support from white men without a college degree (+19 points), white evangelical Christians (+29), and self-described very conservatives (+81).

Biden’s lead comes from strong backing among women (+20 points), suburban voters (+14), and independents (+cool.
Biden better not be deceived by this poll.. It’s how the polls said Hillary had a shot in Arizona and Texas in 2916, but both states ended up being carried by Trump.
