SAFA has officially announced the venue for the highly anticipated home fixture between South Africa’s senior women’s national team and Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the upcoming two-legged fourth round Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifiers slated for April.

The prestigious Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria has been selected as the venue for the return leg, scheduled for Tuesday, 9th April.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm South Africa time (6:30 pm Nigeria time), promising an electrifying atmosphere for football enthusiasts.

SAFA get too much sense. They scheduled the game in a much smaller arena than Soccer City or the Durban stadium to give the appearance of a well-attended game.
Meanwhile, our NFF thought it wise to host such a game, where the team would need the maximum support possible, at the Abuja stadium where no more than 5,000 (in a 60k capacity arena) have been attending Super Falcons matches there🤦🏾

So you can be in the group and not play each other?

There will be no groups at all. Teams would be divided into four pots containing 9 teams each.
Then each team will be drawn to face two teams from each pot. In the league phase, each team plays its 8 opponents just once - either at home or away.

Then, at the conclusion of the league phase, the top 8 teams advance to the round of 16, whilst the teams ranked 9th to 24th would engage in a single 2-legged playoff to determine the remaining places in the round of 16...

Under the new UCL format which starts next season, the finalists would have either played 15 or 17 (if one or both teams played in the playoff round) matches…

And we could see a Man City v Real Madrid game in the league phase
