Most of those shouting Idolatory here will pick a cheque of one million dollars over Jesus any day. grin An Idol is something your mind is fixed on and we all worship money. So let's dump the stinking hypocrisy.

On the issue, the Ooni is the Custodian of all the deities in Ife. He's carrying out one of his core mandates by ensuring the sacredeness of the deities are upheld. The Yoruba nation from inception has always been a secular nation. No one imposses his beliefs on others. That is why you have 401 deities with different families dedicated to worshipping one or the other without rivalry, bickering, intolerance, violence and unhealthy competition among one another (like we have among Abrahamic religions). So those acusing the Ooni of 'backsliding' after identifying with one of the rligions of his subjects don't understand the complexity of the Yoruba Philosophy, which the great Ooni espouses.

Ok. Those from North have been able to update their account too and I think alphabetically up to Ifo that way. Don't thinking local governments from Ijebu Ode downward (alphabetically) have been able to log in to the npvn portal. Don't know what's responsible for the delay.

Thank you for the response. I believe you've update your account details on the npvn platform. Abeokuta South is one of the few Local Governments in Ogun State that its residents have been able to access the npvn portal. I believe this sms was sent directly by Npower, Abuja indicating that their personnel are ready at Abeokuta South Local government for verification. Other Local governments will follow soon. Check your admission status first. If you are asked to change course or institution in the status, do that before printing admission letter, if not you can go ahead and print the admission letter directly. Printing of admission letter costs 1K while change of course is 2.5K, both payable with ATM card online or at bank.

Don't rush to change your course or institution without first checking your admission status. If there is a need for you to change anything, it will be stated in the admission status.

A suicide bomber within a crowd is about to press the detonator and you are armed with a gun and have a clear shot to his head, will you hesitate in pulling the trigger because your bible says 'thou shall not kill'?

The bible and the quran should not be followed literally or fundamentally. Always apply wisdom.

And to answer your question directy, you won't go to hell. The biblical hell doesn't exist. What surely exists is the consequences of our actions or inactions and one of the consequences of evading tax is going to jail. You should be more concerned about the realistic consequences of your tax evasion.
Politics / Re: US Elections: A Reply To The Thread By Tonybarcanista. by peaceonearth(m): 7:53am On Nov 09, 2016
His main point is that Nigerians have little or no influence on the outcome of the Election. I believe we all agree to that. Where I dissagree is the point that we shouldn't be concerned about the elections. It is only sane for the world to be concerned about who occupies the most powerful sit on earth. Attention will shift to China same way when they eventually take over. Other African nations were on the edge of their sits as well during 2015 elections, because they can't handle the influx of refugees to their countries from an exploded Nigeria. Even the US was concerned as President Obama adressed Nigerians directly in a video message. With globalisation at its peak, an isolated incidence thousands of miles away may cost you your means of income (stocks are falling already in anticipation of Trump's win). That's our present reality.

mtcgewwwww angry

The tale of Abobaku is real. Like I said earlier, human sacrifice was practiced in the past. If you understand the Yoruba belief system of life after death, you will understand why some people felt an Oba should have a 'helper' in his journey through the ethereal realm. However, as new knowledge and understanding of life after death emerged through Ifa, the concept of 'Abobaku' was dropped.

As for news of the Onitire shared above, that's very unfortunate. The fact that the information leaked goes to show that the people are against it. Tradition is all about the people and it is the people that make it what they want through divine guidance, reason and essentials of a contemporary society. It is what you agree to give the gods (Orisa) that they will demand from you (those who have a deep knowledge of our traditional religion will know what I'm talking about). That is why the custodians of the Orisas were able to abolish human sacrifice. However, there are sadly some areas in Yorubaland where some of these barbaric practices of human sacrifice are still existing. When you look closely at the practice there, you will discover that those championing it belong to evil cults requiring human parts for rituals. Their victims are not used to appease any god but as 'ingredients' for their evil concoction, mostly money rituals. The International Council for Ifa Religion has been preaching against this for years. However, just like you have bad eggs in other religions and traditions, traditional religion has its own fair share of bad eggs too. As it will be unfair to label all Christians as Murderers because of 'Reverend' King or all Muslims terrorists because of Shekau, it is also unfair to label all adherents of traditional religion human sacrificers. There are several Odus (Chapters and Stanzas) of Ifa that are against murder and money rituals.

what kind of tradition support the killing of innocent people for sacrifice and to appease the gods undecided

The human sacrifice sentiment is one of the points that allows the brainwashing to sink. Let's face it. Yes humans were sacrificed in the past and that wasn't peculiar to Africa (the Bible told us Christ was sacrificed, so don't let us turn a blind eye to that. He was human too). Slavery was the main thing that encouraged that. The essence of sacrifice is to let go of your valuable possessions in order to protect yourself or appease the gods. People then saw slaves as one of such possessions and not as fellow humans. However as society evolved, slavery was abolished and human sacrifice abolished as well following the admonishing of Ifa that 'Bi a se bi eru, la bi omo'. Any Abore (Chief Priest) in Yorubaland asking you to bring Human head for royal or whatever sacrifice is doing his own bidding (probably needs the parts for personal rituals) and should be reported immediately. I can say that categorically because I have inside information. Human sacrifice is a thing of the past in Yoruba tradition.

Embarassing to say the least.
The rituals were for your own good. We've heard cases of criminals kidnapping Obas or robbers/assassins shooting Obas successfully. The rituals are to turn you to the actual 'Alase, ekeji Orisa' and fortify you spiritually against all forms of spiritual/physical attacks.

Before Colonisation, we the Yorubas had our own successful system of governance. In that system, the Oba is the Head of government, Head of State and Commandar-in-chief of the armed forces. He and his 'Ijoyes' form the Executives. The Ogbonis represented the Judicial arm. Incidentally, the Owu people (the people this Oba now represents) started the first Legislative arm known as 'Igbimo' where ordinary citizens are allowed to contribute to National issues in a parliamentary arrangement.

The Ibadan people have a more sophisticated system that combines Executive, Judiciary and Legistlature in a single body that evolved into what is now known as Olubadan Council.

We had our own civilisation. Colonisation and religious brainwashing denied us the opportunity of developing the inventions and gains of our forefathers. What is now practiced as democracy today was an ancient greek philosophy, refined and reformed continuously till it emerged as a system acceptable to all. If we had reformed and refined our primordial system of governance, instead of rubishing it like we like to do, perhaps we would have escaped the ill-luck of corrupt and inept leadership that remains the single bane to our national development.

The Babalawos of Nigeria ought to take a leaf out of this man's book. I mean how in the world does one make so many folks rich, yet live in un finished and old buildings?. Such always bothers me lol. grin

Firstly, no Babalawo or Onisegun can make you rich. Only your ''Ori'' can make you rich. The best a Babalawo can do is help you find ''the path'' to actualising your dreams. If you are alluding to money rituals, no genuine Babalawo will ever have anything to do with money rituals. There are numerous Odus of Ifa warning seriously against money rituals. Money rituals belong to the evil cults consisting mainly of ignorant Oniseguns and so called 'Alfas'. Most of those Oniseguns and 'Alfas' inherited, copied or stole books containing how to do those rituals. They are ignorant of all the intricacies associated with those rituals, how they work and their consequencies. That's why most of them will not even dare try it on themselves but will do it for the fools that come to them.

Babalawos (the genuine ones and not those who are just prading themselves as Babalawo with no knowledge of Ifa) on the other hand know all that is associated with such rituals and their consequencies. This is why when you go to them for money rituals, they'll never do it and will warn you against it. They'll rather help you consult Ifa on how you can awaken your ''Ori' to lead you to fortune.

Lastly, genuine Babalawos don't run after money. Part of the first thing you'll learn in the course of your training as Babalawo is not to make money your motivator. Your focus should be on helping people find solution to their problems. When you focus on that, money will keep chasing you everywhere you go. And for the records, there are very rich Babalawos in Nigeria. Most of them don't just show off their wealth because of their deep knowledge about life. Apart from their riches, they are well connected and can pull strings where you can never imagine. Their deep knowledge about life however makes them very humble and prefer living a modest life because they know it's all vanity.

Sadly bro, it's already happening. Oluwo Philip Neimark (www.ifafoundation.org) is already making far more than any Nigerian Babalawo can even dream of from sales of books, traditional accessories and tourism at his Orisa Gardens alone apart from his consultation and initiation charges. It's happening already! One American that was initiated recently in Nigeria actually said they may eventually be the ones that will come back to propagate Ifa in Africa and start teaching us our history and heritage. We simply do not appreciate what we have. Just like our fathers were sitting on gold and crude oil and enduring poverty before the white explorers came in and turned their fortune around, we are also resting our asses on Ifa and other cultural heritage that can change our fortune.

How many Babalawo have you seen in Nigeria apart from the ones in nollywood movies? Come to Abeokuta and meet well Educated Babalawos that Initiated the likes of the one we are seeing here and other Americans that are now practicing in their country. My dad is an example, he's not only well educated but also tech savvy as he consults for some of his client outside Nigeria via skype. When you meet him outside on a normal day, you'll never know he's a Babalawo. Also, there is a group of young Babalawos at Abeokuta that is made up of mostly graduates and are taking divination to the next level. The Ifa Holy book (similar to the Bible and Quran) is on the way and apps that promote Ifa are also under development.

grin Don't think he can even Chant the first Chapter in Eji Ogbe let alone other deeper Odus. Just like the hood doesn't make the monk, adorning Ileke and white Agbada doesn't make you a Babalawo. He's probably an Apprentice (Omo Ekofa) or Onisegun. He's not a Babalawo in the real sense of it. To be a Babalawo, you have to know at heart, at least 4 chapters in all the 256 Odus of Ifa. Mind you, a Chapter can contain more than one verse and some can be as long as five verses or more. You are expected to memorise all and be able to Chant them from heart anytime before you can be called a Babalawo. The learning process is so complex that you will be very humble when successful and won't have time for all these show of swags. You'll rather use that time to learn more because you can't even stop learning, there is no graduation.

Religion / Re: Russia To Buy Nigeria's Military Technology For $500bn by peaceonearth(m): 2:07pm On Oct 28, 2016
On whether these technologies exist and their potency or otherwise:

They once existed and some of them still exist and only accessible to the initiates for certain reasons that I will explain later. Like I said earlier, I am a son of an Oluwo. I have challenged my dad severally (because of my science background and Engineering training) and confronted him severally with laws of physics and scientific facts that make it clear those technologies are ‘impossible’. Well, I was humbled the day I saw a demonstration of ‘African bullet proof’ or what we call ‘odeshi’ or ‘Ayeta’. I’ve learnt to avoid the word ‘impossible’ ever since then. I will explain how I think African bullet proof works from engineering perspective so that skeptics here will consider shifting their grounds even before they see a demonstration. Before I give my explanation, I will like to quote Arthur C. Clarke’s (a British Science fiction writer) three laws:

1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.

2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.

3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Now, how does African bullet proof works? Before we go into my analysis I’ll like to point out that there are three major types of African bullet proof. They are:

1. Ayeta: This is the most popular. It translates to dodger or deflector of bullets. This is exactly what this technology does. It prevents bullets from reaching the person using it through deflection.

2. Areta: This variant will allow the bullet to hit you but it will not penetrate your skin. It slows down the speed of the bullet such that when it hits you, it will only make a dent like bite of an insect.

3. Owo Ibon: This is the most advanced and what most Oluwo use to secure themselves and also part of the powers most Yoruba kings must be fortified with before ascending the throne, among other fortifications. This technology works in many ways, some will hypnotize the person carrying the gun not to even think of pulling the trigger, even when you provoke the person extremely, he’ll rather hit you with the gun as if it’s a club instead of pulling the trigger. Another variant of this will jam the gun mechanism if an attempt is made on the trigger or redirect the bullet to the person pulling the trigger (ti idi jo). The best version of this is the one that takes you out of arms way in mysterious ways. It will make you leave a place where a gun battle is imminent for some reasons you may not even understand. It could be a urgent call, uncontrollable urge to pee or whatever.

My interest was in the first two because of their extreme disregard of laws of physics or better put laws of physics as we currently know it. In trying to unravel the mystery behind the two, I discovered a book by Kaku Michio (a theoretical physicist and futurist) titled Physics of the Impossible. In the book, he explained force fields and their ability to deflect bullet or slow down their speed if the fields are very strong. My take is that Ayeta and Areta surrounds the person wearing the technology with very strong force fields that deflects or slow down bullets. The strength of the field varies and it wanes with time. This is why a genuine Babalawo will tell you not to wait for some kind of guns even with a working Ayeta or Areta. There is usually a need to renew it from time to time in order to maintain the full strength of the field and you must avoid all the associated eewo.

The book opened my mind to actually see that magic is a form of science that we are yet to understand. If thorough scientific investigation is carried out on most of our ancient military technologies, many discoveries can be made that will change science as we know it.

Religion / Re: Russia To Buy Nigeria's Military Technology For $500bn by peaceonearth(m): 10:55am On Oct 28, 2016
Contrary to what most people here believe or want to believe, we are actually earning foreign exchange already through the export of our local technologies.

I am a son of an Oluwo (Babalawo of the highest order). My dad is a prominent Babalawo in Nigeria and occupies a major position in the International Council for Ifa Religion. Just last month, a set of Americans returned to their country after being Initiated into Ifa (Itefa) and the Sacred Order of Orisa (Irari Orisa). The fee for Itefa alone is $1,000 and that excludes traveling and boarding expenses. This morning, I sent Invitation Letters to another set of Americans that will be coming for their own round of initiation in November. Though these are spiritual matters and should not be viewed from the material perspective, it is important to point out the positive economic impact our traditional religion and culture can make if we can appreciate what we have and develop it.

While we despise our spiritual heritage, Americans particularly are already taking advantage of the powers in it and are seriously positioning themselves to re-emerge as the world power by the time Ifa eventually takes over world religions and philosophies (an inevitable end). Oluwo Philip Neimark, an American and a holder of Ph.D in philosophy, is one of those Americans already planning to take over. He was trained by Oluwo Afolabi Epega, one of my dad's mentor. Oluwo Philip Neimark learnt Ifa and Yoruba language for about 15years before emerging Oluwo. Presently he is one of the few Americans (white) than can carry out Initiation and certify Initiates at his grove in Central Florida, America. You can learn more about Oluwo Philip Neimark on his website (www.ifafoundation.org). When you look at what my dad and his likes are doing from the economic perspective, you will realize the potential Ifa in particular and our spiritual/cultural heritage in general, have in terms of attracting the much needed foreign exchange. That said.

I will address the issue of potency or otherwise of some of our ancient military technologies highlighted above later.
