HealthRead This Before You Drink Salt To Prevent Ebola by pendusky(op): 8:48am On Aug 08, 2014
Please before you take much salt thinking it prevent # Ebola note this.

7 Health Risks of Eating Too Much Salt.
Too much salt in the diet, which is marked by
high sodium content, can deeply impact almost
all biochemical pathways in your body. As a
standard, your dietary intake of sodium should
not exceed 2,000 milligrams per day. Any excess of this amount can inhibit the proper absorption of nutrients and disrupt normal body functions. The following are seven dangerous health
consequences of eating too many salty foods.

1. Hypertension
The number one medical consequence of high
salt intake is hypertension. High intake of salt
causes water retention and promotes abnormal influx of water molecules into your blood vessels. This
action instantaneously increases your blood
volume and blood pressure. Sudden rises of
blood pressure can trigger life threatening
cardiovascular emergencies like strokes and
heart attacks. Reducing your sodium intake through
diet can lower your blood pressure by as much
as 25%.

2. Abnormal Heart Development
A habit of eating salty food can also heighten
your risk of non-blood pressure related heart
diseases. Having higher than normal blood
volume means that your heart has to work
much harder to provide proper circulation. Over time,
your heart can become abnormally large and
your heart valves can become thinner. An enlarged
heart is significantly weaker and can lead to
symptoms like chest pains, breathlessness and
chronic fatigue. Fatal cases like sudden cardiac
arrest and heart failure can also occur.

3. Osteoporosis
Sodium inhibits your body’s absorption and
utilization of calcium, leading to a loss of bone
mass and increased porousness of your bones.
Women after menopause, diabetics and elderly
people who are already at high risk of
osteoporosis should be especially careful about
salt intake. Having a high salt diet can
drastically heighten your chances for fractures and other skeletal deformations.

4. Kidney Disorders
Excess calcium and sodium that are not used
by your body goes into your urine. This can
increase the filtration load of your kidneys and increase the likelihood of crystal formation. Elevated blood pressure and blood volume are also extremely
damaging to your kidneys.

5. Dehydration and Swelling
Feeling thirsty is a direct response after having
salty food. This happens because excessive
sodium in your blood draws water out of your
cells and into your tissues. Dehydrated cells
signal your brain for water. Having fluid filled
tissue makes you look bloated and swollen, and
these symptoms are especially severe in the
lower parts of your body. Reducing your salt intake is
an effective way of preventing swollen feet, ankles
and calves.

6. Digestive Diseases
Sodium regulates the acid-base balance of
blood and body fluids. Too much salt can trigger acid
reflux and cause heart burn and long-term
damage to your upper digestive tract. Studies
have shown that habitual intake of salty foods
is a strong risk factor for duodenal and gastric
ulcers and cancers.

7. Electrolyte and Hormone
Imbalance
Excessive sodium can impact both your
electrolyte and hormone balance. Too much
sodium can severely hinder the conduction of
nerve impulses and induce symptoms like
dizziness, muscle cramps and shakiness. You
can also have impaired sensory response, feel
disoriented or develop other depressive
symptoms.

PoliticsEl Rufai Hit Back By A Fan On His Facebook Page. by pendusky(op):
After El Rufai took to his Facebook page to his usual criticizing GEJ administration on The topic

" Who Really Deserves To Be Impeached? - By
Tochukwu Ezukanma - August 6, 2014"

His fan took time to hit back at him

a comment by Bucho Anigbogu

In the history of Nigeria, I'm yet to see a COLD,
RUTHLESS, WICKED & BITTER politician like El
rufai.
God works in mysterious ways, we can NEVER
understand the complexity of our EXISTENCE here
on earth, hence, People should be mindful of the
THOUGHTS in their heart, only God knows it. God, I
mean, whether yours is Christian, Muslim, Hindu,
Buddhist, amadioha, ifa, OR oduduwa, there's only
one God, and whichever way u chose to serve him,
SERVE and HAVE FEAR OF GOD.
I don't know if CERTAIN death is some kind of
punishment from God, most bad folks live longer
than people expected. However, when SORROWS
are always at your door step, then, there's need for
INTROSPECTION. Say what you like, El rufai, needs
INTROSPECTION.
Igbos are been bombed and massacred in the north
by Boko haram, El rufai, has never said anything
NICE, no condolence no sympathy, rather, he'll be
on social media hurling insults on Igbos for
supporting Jonathan. El rufai, HAS NEVER
CONDEMNED BOKO HARAMS ACTION FOR ONE
DAY. Nigerian soldiers are being killed daily by BH,
El Rufai, has never commiserate with the Ngerian
Army, on their loss. El Rufai, has never
COMMENDED or use his social media platform to
praise the Nigerian army, in their struggle against
BH.
Fulani herdsmen ( BH, in disguise), will massacre
Christians in plateau, benue, kaduna, etc, El Rufai,
has NEVER condemned their actions, rather, he'll
be using propaganda to paint the Fulani killers as
victims.
I gave up on El rufai, the day Jonathan's wife came
back to Nigeria after her long absence cos of
illness, people that came to welcome the First Lady
were jubilating at the airport with her, el rufai, was
busy posting HATEFUL & BILE stuffs about
Jonathan's wife, & that she's not fit" " they're just
trying to hoodwink people" etc. What a man?
El rufai, was close to Ngozi IWeala, during Obj,
days, since Ngozi, started working for Jonathan's
govt. El rufai, has never said anything good about
her. He'll insult ngozi and tried to place Sanusi, as
a smarter financial expert ( how he wish).
Whenever there's a bomb blast, El rufai, will
INSULT and criticized Gen. Azazi, he only stopped
when Jonathan removed Azazi, as the NSA. Guess
what? Jonathan replaced Azazi, with a Fulani,
Moslem ( Dasuki), despite the worsening security
situation, for once, El rufai, has NEVER, EVER,
criticize the incumbent NSA.
I'm not going to even write about El rufai's HATE,
CONTEMPT, & EVIL wishes on Jonathan and his
friends, cos, his hate speeches deserve to be
written as a book. Lai Mohammed, Tinubu, Fashola,
Obj, Falana, etc, they all CRITICIZE Jonathan, but
what El rufai, does is nothing near criticism.
The Igbos that are been killed, the corpers that was
massacred, the farmers that the fulanis have killed
in various middle belt states, the soldiers that BH,
ambushed, and the Christians being killed in their
churches, ALL THESE SOULS WERE CREATED BY
GOD, JUST LIKE EL RUFAI's son. They all deserve
sympathy and condolence from el rufai, but el rufai,
NEVER SHOWED MERCY. Ribadu, IBB, Abudusalami,
etc, are all alive, they don't go about making hate
comments and insulting Jonathan. Does el rufai
love Nigeria more than them? El rufai, loves the
money he stole and can steal from the government.
My bible told me to " we should mourn with those
that mourn" and rejoice with those that rejoice". El
rufai, always rejoice at the death of Igbos and
Christians. El rufai's children might be far from
maidugiri and other dangerous zones, but they'll
will not be FAR FROM GOD's WRATH, and LAW OF
NATURE. I'm not happy that he lost his son, but
the boys death is just like the death of the STREET
TRADERS THAT DIED AT THE ABUJA PLAZA and
THE ONES THAT DIED AT MASS TRANSIT PARK.
Mallam Nasi El rufai, the TONGUE IS A POWERFUL
WEAPON. I'm not God, I know nothing, but
something tells me " it's time you do some
INTROSPECTION.

honestly i believe that el rufai should quit politics
for sometime and face for instance the continious
lost of his immediate family member for sometime
and deal with it squarely, it is easy to criticise from
outside El rufai was once in govt. and their
administration was never any better, they still owe
Nigerians explanation on how an administration will
spend 16billion dollars on power and yet there is
no power where as Ethiopia is constructing
6000mega watt with 6bilion dollars meaning our
16bilion dollars should as far back as 1999 to 2007
earn us 16000megga watt then Nigeria by now
have no reason to be in darkness. these people
should stop playing on out intelligence and stop
taking us for a ride
I think El Rufai need rest from politics

Health Ebola – What You’re Not Being Told by pendusky(op): 4:20pm On Aug 06, 2014
There is something very, very important
that the corporate media and public
health officials are not telling you
regarding the Ebola outbreak in west
Africa.
The information I’m about to present
here is frightening. There’s really no
way around that. However, I request
that you do your very best to maintain
a calm state of mind.
Right now in West Africa the worst
Ebola outbreak in history is in full
swing and is jumping borders at an
alarming rate. Already it has spread to
four countries, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra
Leone and now Nigeria. This latest
jump into Nigeria is particularly
serious since the infected individual
carried the virus by plane to Lagos
Nigeria, a city with a population of
over 21 million. Doctors without
borders has referred to the outbreak
as “out of control” .
To make matters worse, there is
something very, very important that
the corporate media and public health
officials are not telling you regarding
this crisis.
You’ll notice if you read virtually any
mainstream article on the topic that
they make a point of insisting that
Ebola is only transferred by physical
contact with bodily fluids. This is not
true, at all.
A study conducted in 2012 showed that
Ebola was able to travel between pigs
and monkeys that were in separate
cages and were never placed in direct
contact.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnQVUf775VE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Though the method of transmission in
the study was not officially
determined, one of the scientists
involved, Dr. Gary Kobinger, from the
National Microbiology Laboratory at
the Public Health Agency of
Canada, told BBC News that he
believed that the infection was spread
through large droplets that were
suspended in the air.

“What we suspect is
happening is large droplets;
they can stay in the air, but
not long; they don’t go far,”
he explained. “But they can
be absorbed in the airway,
and this is how the infection
starts, and this is what we
think, because we saw a lot
of evidence in the lungs of
the non-human primates
that the virus got in that
way.”

Translation: Ebola IS an airborne
virus.
UPDATE: Someone pointed out that in
medical terms, if the virus is transferred
through tiny droplets in the air this
would technically not be called an
“airborne virus”. Airborne, in medical
terms would mean that the virus has the
ability to stay alive without a liquid
carrier. On one hand this is a question of
semantics, and the point is well taken,
but keep in mind that the study did not
officially determine how the virus
traveled through the air, it merely
established that it does travel through the
air. Doctor Kobinger’s hypothesis
regarding droplets of liquid is just that, a
hypothesis. For the average person
however what needs to be understood is
very simple: if you are in a room with
someone infected with Ebola, you are not
safe, even if you never touch them or
their bodily fluids, and this is not what
you are being told by the mainstream
media. Essentially I am using the word
“airborne” as a layman term (which kind
of makes sense, since I am a layman in
this field).
Now I’m not going to speculate as to
whether these so called “journalist”
and public health agencies who keep
repeating the official line regarding
the means of transmission are lying,
or are just participating in some
massive display of synchronized
incompetence, but what I will say, is
that this shoddy reporting is most
likely getting people killed right now,
and may in fact put all of humanity in
danger.
How so?
By convincing people that the virus
cannot travel through air, important
precautions that could reduce the
spread of the virus are not being
taken. For example the other
passengers on the plane that traveled
to Lagos, Nigeria were not
quarantined.
To put this into context, Ebola kills
between 50% and 90% of its victims,
so the stakes are very, very high here.
NOTE: We have reported on the fact that
Ebola can spread through the air in three
separate articles since March of
2014, here , here and here , however the
corporate media has continued to
misrepresent the vectors of transmission.
This particular strain of Ebola is not
Ebola Zaire. This is a new strain , and
it may in fact be more dangerous than
the Zaire variety. Not because of any
difference in the symptoms (the
symptoms are identical), but because
this new virus seems to be harder to
contain. Whether this is due to some
characteristic of the virus itself or
merely dumb luck is uncertain at this
time, but the rate at which this
outbreak has extended its range is
unprecedented.
According to the CDC this virus is
genetically 97% similar to the Zaire
strain. However if you are interested
in this virus’ phylogenetic relationship
(genetic lineage) to the Zaire strain
you should look read “ Phylogenetic
Analysis of Guinea 2014 EBOV
Ebolavirus Outbreak ” on plos.org.
Another study by the New England
Journal of medicine (this was the one
referenced by the CDC) specifically
names the parts of the genetic code
which differ:

The three sequences, each
18,959 nucleotides in length,
were identical with the
exception of a few
polymorphisms at positions
2124 (G→A, synonymous),
2185 (A→G, NP552
glycine→glutamic acid), 2931
(A→G, synonymous), 4340
(C→T, synonymous), 6909
(A→T, sGP291
arginine→tryptophan), and
9923 (T→C, synonymous).

A Nigerian walked into a bank in New York City
and requested for the loan officer. He said he is
going to Nigeria for a one month holiday and needed
to borrow $1,000. The bank loan officer said the bank will need some sort of security or collateral for the loan, so the man hands over the keys of his new Mercedes Benz SL 500.

The car was parked on the street in front of the
bank. The bank agreed to accept the car as a
collateral for the loan. The bank's Manager, loan officer and it's staffs all laughed at the Nigerian, for using a $110,000 Benz as a collateral for a $1,000 loan. Saying he was so ignorant.
An employee of the bank drove the Benz into
the bank's underground garage and parked it there.
One month later, the Nigerian returned from
Nigeria, He repaid the $1,000 and the interest,
which was $100. The loan officer curious said;~~ "Sir, we are very happy to do business with you. This transaction worked out nicely, but we are surprised. While you were away, we did a background check on you and found out that you are a multi-millionaire. What surprises us is why would you bother to borrow
$1,000. The Nigerian calmly replied;~~ "Where else in
New York City can I park my Mercedes Benz for one
month for only $100, and expect it to be there when i return?"

PoliticsRe: REVEALED: Why NNPC GMD, Andrew Yakubu Was Sacked by pendusky(m): 5:28pm On Aug 03, 2014
philips70: The real reasons why the GMD was sacked has been revealed here. By 2019 even the GEJ TILL 2019 crew will all put their hands in their heads sobbing seriously when GEJ and Diezani might have finished with the country

Following the sudden sack of the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), it has been revealed that it was due to irreconcilable differences between the ex-NNPC boss and Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke. Yakubu as well as Mr. Victor Briggs – the Managing Director of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) — were ousted via a statement by President Goodluck Jonathan issued by his spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, who immediately appointed Dr Joseph Thlama Dawha at NNPC and Mr. Anthony Ugonna Muoneke at NPDC as replacements. Yakubu is the fourth NNPC GMD in a space of four years. According to reports from News Express Nigeria, many staff of the NNPC remained shell shocked at the development yesterday, a few weeks after Yakubu reportedly told them that he had the confidence of the President. Industry sources in Abuja disclosed that the relationship between the former NNPC boss and the minister was dogged by disagreements on several issues. These include constant sack of highly-skilled professionals in the corporation who were trained by the federal government; sharp differences on policies affecting oil and gas industry; alienation of International Oil Companies (IOCs); opposition to the minister’s court action against the House of Representatives to stop the probe into alleged N10 billion spent on chartered jet; non-availability of the minister when crucial decisions are required; and pile up of files on matters affecting the industry. An NNPC source familiar with the situation said: “You know Yakubu, a northern minority, was the fourth to get the boot in four years. We had Barkindo, Ladan, Oniwon and the latest victim, Yakubu. “What happened was that the immediate past GMD was uncomfortable with the recurring sack of competent hands in NNPC to satisfy some cronies. His position was that sycophancy should not be the basis for appointments in the corporation. “For instance, a former GED of the NNPC in charge of exploration, Abiye, was sacked after he fought spiritedly to reconcile accounts on alleged missing oil funds with ex-CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. There were so many cases like that in the last four years.” The source also alleged that several policy proposals made by Yakubu never sat well with the minister. “The ex-GMD was not happy that the IOCs are divesting in the oil sector although the minister does not see anything wrong with the development,” the source said. “Above all, the former GMD detested the idea of running after a minister with files when crucial decisions were to be taken. “Instead of being mutually consultative, the minister will rather give an order on what should be done when it is technically obvious as defective. All the management staff owe the minister is “Yes, madam.” It was learnt that the minister has been having a running battle with Engineer Yakubu, especially following the various probes by the National Assembly, which project the NNPC as being corrupt. The last straw that broke the camel’s back was the N10 billion private jet hire outcry. It was learnt that Engineer Yakubu refused to approve the renewal of the jet hire contract, hence the minister insisted on his removal. Dr Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo, who was GMD when the minister took over in April 2010, was the first casualty, the same April, in the incumbent Petroleum Minister’s regime. Although, as in the latest removal the Presidency didn’t offer any reason for Barkindo’s sack, the talk in the industry was that he was considered too close to his former boss, the late Rilwanu Lukman, who died last month.....

adewasco2k: Facebook has just reviled its first mobile app that will help Africans get online free via its initiative internet.org which was launched last year to help developing countries have access to cheap internet.

The initiative is first releasing its first app in Zambia, the app is currently android base, it gives free access to base web services totally free.
The app will allow users have access to online information like:

• Wikipedia
• Google search
• Facebook
• AccuWeather
• Go Zambia Jobs
• Kokoliko
• MAMA (Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action)
• Messenger
• WRAPP (Women’s Rights App) and
• Zambia uReport

Facebook’s boss said in his post that “Right now, only 15% of people in Zambia have access to the internet. Soon, everyone will be able to use the internet for free to find jobs, get help with reproductive health and other aspects of health, and use tools like Facebook to stay connected with the people they love.”

But currently the free internet access will be for only Airtel Africa customers in Zambia.
Nigerians will be waiting patiently for this awesome service.

I think Globacom will be the best company to partner with Facebook on this initiative in Nigeria, what do you guys think?

naijaspeak: Dear Nairaland member,

I would like to know why phillippinos ( citizen of the phillippines ) are the preferred choice of employers of labours in Qatar? after this group comes the indian, nepalese, pakistani, bangledeshi, srilankan. African people comes last only when there is no other alternative to the earlier mentioned nationals.

Every advert you see in qatar it is always phillippinos on the list.

The only exception is the western expatriate who are mainly from France, united kingdom etc. who are well treated with high position jobs.

I have been told that Nigerians and some other african national such as Kenyan, Ghanaian, Ugandan are denied offer because they are not happy to accept peanut. they prefer the big paying jobs.

Is this the only reasons why employers of labour in Qatar carefully exclude Nigerians and other african and they target their jobs to mainly phillippinos?
you have answer it all. your second to last paragraph said it all. we don't settle for less. grin

FamilyRe: My Mother Hates Me And My Sister For No Reason by pendusky(m): 11:31am On Aug 03, 2014
simbaddsailor: My mother had us two out of wedlock. I and my sister. She left us at a tender age to got married to a man, she beared 6 children for d man, 5 boys and 1 girl. The man is now late. We grew up living wit our grand parents. I can say that my grand parents were the parents I knew. It waz after some years that I and my sister began to realize that we have a biological mother because, she never showed us love, she barely visits us, grand parents were catering for our education etc. Their first son waz supportive, making sure that we lack noting. During holidays, he wuld send his driver to pick us up for a holiday, while coming back, he would buy us cloths, give us sch fees and pocket money. All this while, our mother waz comfortable with her husband and children. I and my sister never for once visited them to spend holidays. We grew up and finished our secondary school, we knew very well that she has never shown us any care but that never bothered us as we were eager to make our grand parents and their first son happy at leat, to repay back to them what they spent on us. I waz lucky to get a job after my seconday school, my sister waz fortunate to get married. Our mother discriminated us, she never see anyting good in us, the hatred waz obvious, she succeded in causing a division among us and her other 6 children, we now see ourselves as enemies, we can't relate as brothers and sisters, to make the matter worse, after the death of her husband, she abandoned her husband place to relocate back to her late parents house where I live presently with their first son. Her brother gave me a room. My mother has made life unbearable for me, he calls me names, she repeatedly boasted that her other 6 children will be better than me, she is also not in good term with her elder brother and she wanted me to join her in fighting him, I told her that I can't bite the finger that fed me, when she abandoned us, it waz the man and her wife that assisted our grand parents to make sure that we went to school, how then do I fight a man who has not wronged me in any way. I became her enemy for refusing to join her in fighting her brother. She accused me of things I know noting about. That waz same thing my sister suffered in her hands before she finally got married, even wen she put to bed n called her to come and assist her, she went their and caused problem, she insulted my sister's husband, the man had to bring her back with annoyance and sworn that she will never come to his house again whenever his wife puts to bed. I had to rent a house and moved out of our compound. When my rent expired, our family members had to prevail on me to return, that I can't be paying rent when I have a room. My mother has consistently fraustrated every move to make her return to her husband house. I am now trying to gather money and relocate to either Enugu or Lagos since my family members are against me renting a house in our town. I don't know if other people born out of wedlock are passing through same thing I and my sister are passing through. Please your advices are welcomed.
very pathetic. believe me you have something in you that The enemy in your MUM is trying to kill. follow your instinct and make your decisions and follow it. believe me you will succeed and your mum will come back begging for forgiveness. if you are hard working type find a place away from home and start a new life. God bless your hustle.
