Is this for real? I hope the husband has a job waiting for his wife when all this show is over

How about you try slicing off your war-head. You will forever have problem with a woman's trust if you dont.
Politics › Re: He Impregnated Bisi Ibidapo-Obe - Dino's In-Law by Pennywise(m): 11:18am On Oct 10, 2012
I like an in-law like this. He actually loathes Dino because Dino is a wife beater. So why not pour some mud in his face and let everybody see. It also serves as a warning- be prepared for war if anything happens to my sister in that home.

A lot of fools like to play good inlaw while the brute continue to abuse his wife and even in some cases killing her. Inlaw Moses will help bring a lot of stability in that home.

And for young women who have given up hope of finding husband preferring to carry the babies of 'successful men', there are consequences. Be prepared for the good and the bad. Dino Melaye will eventually own up after a DNA confirmation (he is an educated man). But he should not delude himself thinking this is the last (may not even be the first).
Romance › Re: What Are The Things That Makes A Girl To Cheat On A Guy? by Pennywise(m): 5:12pm On Oct 09, 2012
seunfly: My brother at this stage of my life, i can't spend on any girl to buy her love. If I have some money, i can give it to anybody in need including her but not because i want her to love me. Any girl that can not love me without my money can move on to those who can do the spending, by the way am looking for wify and that is perfect way to screan them out and get the best possible one. Real gold is not pick from ground it is minned and dig out with alot of process.

Romance › Re: What Are The Things That Makes A Girl To Cheat On A Guy? by Pennywise(m): 4:58pm On Oct 07, 2012
seunfly: Is it the amount of money the guy spent on her that will make her faithful to her bf? Or the amount of love they have for each other. Seriously peaple that think the way you think are the one that make peaple believe that Nigeria girls only care about money, which is not true.
You want her looking good. But you wont spend money on her because u are saving for a laptop. Dont worry. Some other guys you dont know will happily spend the money.
Crime › Re: 3 Students Burnt To Death In Uniport by Pennywise(m): 12:36pm On Oct 07, 2012
It always helps to look at the big picture especially when there is a conflict of opinion. Four lives were lost in an orgy of mob violence over circumstances that are still not entirely clear. We must remove sentiments and theatrics.I personally resent the action of persons who have hijacked this unfortunate incident to assume a moral high ground for self glory etc.

Lets face it. No death is good death especially when it is crime related. Whether its a robbery victim getting stabbed, shot, strangled bludgeoned(this is a daily occurrence in Nigeria) or in the case of these four robbery suspects who were bludgeoned and probably mutilated. May their soul rest in peace.

What is clear is that the Government and the police have failed its citizens. The typical Nigerian has no faith in the police. You may commit murder in full view of the world and still be able to walk free with as little as 200k ($1250) bribe money (going rate. The villagers know this, all career criminals know this. You may forget about rape, burglary, assault-those are of no consequence. There is no real obligation to spend the night in jail if your folks are really connected. We assume in this situation that a suspect has been apprehended and handed over to the police. You may discount situations where the police is invited when there is a crime in progress, because they will not come!

Therefore the deterrence value of the Nigerian police in crime prevention/prosecution is practically non existent. The reality is that people have resorted to organized self help in various communities across esp southern Nigeria. Infact policemen are barred from entering certain communities bc they are viewed as unreliable and at other times mere extortionists. They cant even go to these places to effect arrest without soldiers even then an unequivocal approval of community head has to be given (usually bc of respect for the accompanying soldier). Such is the lack of confidence in the police and the breakdown of law and order in Nigeria.

So in place of deterrence by the police what exist in many communities today is deterrence by community terror. This is stronger in some communities than others.

It may be convenient to sit behind a keyboard in a cold secure environment and pontificate on savagery in Nigeria. An environment where you have the luxury to call the police on a neighbour playing loud music and they will be there on time.

Crime › Re: 3 Students Burnt To Death In Uniport by Pennywise(m): 5:19pm On Oct 06, 2012
I find it hard to understand why pple feel sorry for these four. They were going to 'overthrow' a capone. Exactly how did they plan to do that? Show him a knife and make him relinquish authority? They were there to commit murder. But the villagers as it turned out prevented that from happening and then went ahead to mete their evil intent on the cultists.

Should I feel sorry for them? No. Should I feel sorry for their parents? Hell no.In all I would say yesterday was a good day for all innocents and victims of cult-related activities.

The belief generally held that student cultism is for the tough guys couldnt be farther from the truth. The motivation frequently is insecurity for those who seek to join and a lack of courage to say no when approached. Nothing more.

otokx:

most parents are simply parents in absentia, it is dstv and househelp plus driver that are the parents of many wayward children in Nigeria. I see so many young boys of age 8 who are just cultists, bokoharam, robbers, kidnappers in the making and waiting and when they will be caught that is how many people will come here and say i know the family, they have money, they are nice, they are well to do, they even attend so and so church, remain small na to snap them with daddy adeboye or chris okotie.

There were cultists long bf DSTV and househelp with drivers became fashionable

What were 'the sons' planning to do with the knives they threw in the bush when they saw the villagers?

Oyb if you are old enough, get yourself a gun. It is still legit to do that in Nigeria.

Christianity Etc › Re: Dose God Destine Some Poeple Not To attend High Institution? by Pennywise(m): 5:07pm On Oct 04, 2012
The university in the past was a place for the exceptionally brilliant few others acquired skills in different trades and vocation and made a good life out of it. In order words going to uni for the majority was the exception. Now, it is the rule. Because it is prestigious to do so.

The consequence is that you have 'graduates' every where who can hardly write application letters unaided for nonexistent jobs, no skill, therefore no legitimate means to earn a living. B4 you know it you are 40 and a whole lifetime is gone.

My advise? Forget about destiny. Go and acquire a skill that can guaranttee u livelihood, save and build on that.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Top 5 Government Agencies To Work For by Pennywise(m): 4:10pm On Oct 04, 2012
Remuneration among civil servants and government agencies is chaotic and makes no sense. Some with better experience and qualification are fighting to have a step or two added to their grade so they can earn that extra N450 others even though less qualified are packing money that often goes into millions on a monthly basis grin

E.g NNPC and its subsidiaries DPR, PTI, PPPRA etc has a pay structure like Nigerian Legislators- completely inexplicable. But this is Nigeria. Anything goes.

This is nice of the OP. Everyone should be encouraged to show pics like this in all institutions of learning whether govt or private to expose the fraud and rot in that sector. Nigerians will like to know what the billions of naira collected by the managers of these institutions is translating to. And how seriously we should take these private Universities that are all over the place.

Benito69: And this is why many people may be reluctant to marry Ibo people, why they fight over property only God knows...
You may welcome opportunists to disinherit you when the time comes and thereafter put up with curses from your benefactors bc u didnt 'feel like fighting over property' that is rightly yours. Not everyone is inclined to do that.

If I may ask did the Ikemba leave a will? If he did what became of it.why has it not been read.

Sir Louis Ojukwu from what I have seen in this thread said his assets should not be divided. Obviously the children disagree. Why cant they go to court and have the assets shared among them?

With respect to Debe and Emeka jnr and I address this querry to Danka, was Debe disowned by the Ikemba at anytime? It seems you are choosing and picking btw what is tradition and what is legal to favour emeka
Politics › Re: Ojukwu's Siblings Give Bianca Quit Notice From His Residence by Pennywise(m): 6:39am On Oct 01, 2012
Danka has done a grt job throwing light on the heat many of us see coming from d Ojukwu family since d demise of d ikemba. Perhaps this will make pple less hasty in drawing conclusions.

What is fundamentally at play is a conflict btw traditional and legal views on inheritance. I always felt that the western laws adopted by us is inadequate to address our problems relating to inheritance. Also the issue of unsettled will (if any)of the late Sir Louis Ojukwu. It is wishful thinking to assume this matter can be resolved by a group of elders sitting around a table. I see litigations possibly lasting generations unless all parties are willing to make really painful concessions.

The impression conveyed by Danka that Ojukwu was an irresponsible freeloader couldn't be farther from d truth. He put that family name on the map. Without d Ikemba Louis Ojukwu was just another rich man now dead. At least that has to be worth sth.

He gave respect to the Igbo at a time they were being slaughtered like fowls by NIgerias resident deranged lunatics even though it was at grt cost. To most pple it was d only thing to do. He could have sat in his big chair awaiting promotion or run away like Ogundipe without drawing the world attention to the carnage going on in Nigeria.

Most importantly he was a grt orator and leader of men. The best orator I have had opportunity to interact with.
Family › Re: Should Parents Apologise If They Punish Their Children Wrongly by Pennywise(m): 10:38am On Sep 30, 2012
'Punished Wrongly' is an opinion of the youngster. The overriding opinion in a family situation is the father's opinion.

And no man is ready to be a father unless he is ready to look his child in d eye and wield that stick (whether his heart bleeds or not)

Olutola88: Pls put me through, just assume I know nothing
Of course u know nothing my dear. Fashola did not leave law school expecting to be Gov.

First, endeavour to get a real job so u can make some money. Nobody does politics on empty stomach. Some money is also important bc without it u are just like me. Nobody will listen to you.

Then look for a local pressure group in ur area or join hands and create one. If u are originating one make it sound like is for the good of ur community. In no time u will start getting patronage from politicians in d form of money, invitation to meetings etc.

Within a short time u are a familiar face in local political circuit in other words, u are a politician and the sky is your limit. It is relatively risk free with potentials for enormous returns. This is a good time to be a politician unlike the second and third republic when u have to be on the constant look out for assassins from d oppossing camps or d military.

Go on brother. The future is bright.
Car Talk › Re: Are Women Actually The Motivating Factor Why Men Buy Cars? by Pennywise(m): 3:49pm On Sep 28, 2012
The average naija babe/woman is not interested in cars. It is difficult not to notice how our women go out of their way to make eye contact with the man behind the wheel even when all the guys around her are fixated on the car itself.

I will say they are interested in what the car represents- status, money, perhaps security. And if u do get something going and u neglect or refuse to spend on her, to hell with you and your flashy car.

The average naija guy knows this which is why he wont go looking for any particular brand on account of its appeal to the opposite sex but because it elevates him socially, it is prestigious, in some cases it projects a certain personality and most importantly he can afford it.
