Politics › Re: FG To Clinton: Don't Brand Boko-Haram As Terrorist Group by Pennywise(m): 1:35pm On Aug 11, 2012
The decision not to brand BH a terrorist organization inspite of its atrocious terrorist activities is no doubt that of the new NSA. And since Jonathan has no mind of his own he will naturally accept.

The NSA strategy towards curtailing BH is a pacifist/appeasement policy. This indicates a complete lack of understanding of the problem at hand. It is a case of one clueless man leading another clueless man. How many more Nigerians have to be slaughtered in cold blood?

Where in the world has an appeasement policy worked with islamist terrorists? Why have we chosen to deny ourselves the backing of a superpower that has the assets and the experience to deal with these bigoted criminals? Or does the NSA have his own separate agenda to see this group thrive bc since he was appointed, BH has only grown stronger in their terrorist activities.

His appeasement policies are leading to the needless death of our troops in the hands of BH. The NSA and Jonathan are leading Nigerians into a ditch. What exactly are the credentials of this NSA b/c apart from being an ADC to a retired head of state nothing in his service in the army comes to mind b4 he retired as a colonel.

This govt is a complete failure. Oshiomhole's govt in Edo state was met with d usual sceptism on assumption of office. But he has allowed his good work to speak for him so much so that anybody criticising Oshomhole now is an enemy of all Edo pple. He didn't need to hire fake intellectuals to launder his image on a faceless forum. Even Obj didn't need to. Neither did Yaradua.

To Jonathan's image handlers on NL. Consider ur responses very well bc u are becoming monotonous and frequently irrelevant in ur responses. In d eyes of d world your principal is

1. Corrupt- irrespective of whether he gives a damn or not. This might be a reason why he has a problem effectively prosecuting corruption. Monumental financial scandals is a dly occurrence in his govt and nothing is being done.
He refuses to let go openly corrupt persons in his cabinet like Diezani and Adoke

2. Inept in d fight against terrorism. Sending a few soldiers with a pick up van to confront suicidal maniacs doesn't constitute a fight against terror. Borders remain porous, BH access funds freely, insufficient security manpower resources etc

3 Goofy president. Yes he is a PHD holder but our expectations of him is no more than a little common sense in his utterances. And u will do well to have his wife under lock and key bc every remark of hers makes pple question the IQ of d first family.

All of a sudden all u paid Jonathan attack dogs make el Nasir -a thieving opportunist look like a folk hero when he is not.

U are here to win friends for ur principal. Stop attacking contributors on Nl. In d past critical threads about Jonathan and his govt will last 1-2 pages but since u came on in d last 2mths these threads are going d distance. And u big pple in Abuja have made small pple like us big shots telling u as it is.

Why is it that this government (read Jonathan) always act without thinking. They have turned a thieving villain without an iota of credibility into an automatic hero that is being

worshipped all over the place. Jonathan has further isolated himself from the people, created doubt about his ability to utilize is brain to rule and made more enemies. So far he has

been ineffective as a leader. How does creating more enemies help him under the circumstances?

denzel2009: Jamaicans honed their skills by running away from Police every time they were caught selling igbo. If Naija police can reduce their bellies and run after area boys/girls we would have our own Usain Bolt.
In Nigeria our policemen dont run after suspects. They shoot. So quit the police angle. On the other hand if govt seriously monetize reward rather than meaningless medals our Igbo brothers will dominate 100m with sub 9s dash. They are already doing that in traffic selling articles and pyrated CDs.

Evidently d 40 lap toppers are on hand to see who will mention Jonathan bc pry schs fall within d purview of local and state govts.

But these are direct results of fraudulent diversion of funds and monumental corruption. Things that EFCC and ICPC are given billions yrly to stop. They however remain under the attorney General and d president used only for purposes of blackmail and keeping 'errant' troublemakers in line.

Roads remain death traps, Ngerians die needlessly everyday in poorly equipped hospitals, armed robberies and kidnapping, these are symptoms of a deep malady and an irresponsible and inept fed govt.

Ceding Nigeria's water-ways and attempting to bribe defeated combatants through 'amnesty'is d most outrageous policy decision of d Nigerian govt.

It is irresponsible and enuff reason to sack a govt. No problem has been solved by it, merely postponed at a cost in human and material resources that will ultimately exceed what we have seen. No sore gets treated by merely covering it up.

Reading through his notes one can readily deduce that Al Mustapha was not a soldier at all. Indeed he was a termite. An opportunist who didnt have the courage to back up his plan with action. In order words and by his personal account Al Mustapha is a coward.I wonder how he must feel knowing that the same junior officers of his ilk will be phocking his wife now.

In summary what Almustapha is trying to tell us here is that when he lost his trump card in Gen Sanni Abacha he tried to retain priviledges by playing one General against the other. And when it didnt work he dreamt about shooting them all like a soldier would in Burkina Faso. But a dream is only what it is.

We see him trying to idolize his benefactor once more suggesting he was assasinated. Utter cra/p. Sani Abacha in his last days was a walking corpse and evryone knew that except Almustapha bc he was dreaming. Abacha wore make up night and day
Politics › Re: Al Mustapha Prison Notes Uncovered by Pennywise(m): 10:56am On Jul 28, 2012
The reason people have no respect for the rule of law and the primary reason for the pervading lawlessness in Nigeria today is because nothing here is cast in Stone- Not even court judgements. People are always looking for ways to undermine the law and more often than not they succeed.

If it is not through cash inducement, it will be intimidation and sometimes even murder of a witness, law enforcer or at times a judicial officer. When non of these is possible they play the ethnic or religious card. Recently we have been hearing more and more about political solutions to patently criminal acts. Our redemption does not lie in never ending prayers. It lies in adherence to the rule of law and doing the right thing. It works for other countries and it did for us in the past. Let us obey the law.

Al-Mustapha our present murder icon and villain should be allowed to have the benefit of his appeal after which he should be hanged. Anything short of this is not healthy for this country. We dont need to know about his prison notes.

EFCC is not serious about prosecution otherwise papers would have since been filed in court. They are just shaking the money tree with these 20 suspects. Remember they are said to be 140.

With this publication phones are going to start ringing and family members of EFCC operators will be sent for offshore liaisons with oil magnates to avoid another Farook scenario.

I honestly pity Nigeria. The EFCC needs someone in the mould of J.Edgar Hoover. Ibrahim Lamorde is no Hoover. He is not even Ribadu.
Politics › Battle Of The First Ladies: Turai And Patience Jonathan Fight Over Abuja Land by Pennywise(op): 11:44am On Jul 25, 2012
http://allafrica.com/stories/201207250556.html

Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mohammad Bello Adoke (SAN), has indicated interest to settle a legal battle between First Lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan, and her predecessor, Turai Yar'Adua, over an Abuja land out of court.

Counsel from the AGF's office, Baba Sa'idu, informed Justice Peter Affen of an Abuja High Court sitting in Bwari yesterday that the government was willing to settle the matter amicably.

The said plots of land (plot 1347 Cadastral Zone, Central Business District, Abuja, measuring 1.84 hectares) according to documents before the court, was duly allocated to Turai's non-governmental organisation - Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYEF) by the Minister of Federal Capital Territory with the Right of Occupancy duly issued to it.

The FCT authorities on November 2, 2011 via a letter dated October 27, 2011 issued a notice of revocation of the said property and was re-allocated to another organisation, African First Ladies Peace Centre believed to be sponsored by Patience Jonathan.

WAYEF however got a court order restraining the defendants from affecting the title.

Minister of the FCT, Senator Balla Muhammed, Federal Capital Territory Administration, Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) and the AGF were listed as defendants in the matter.

Respective counsel to FCT Administration and Abuja Geographic information System (AGIS), and WAYEF, Felix Ibanga and Innocent Lagi, consented to the development.

Lagi noted that it was not the first time the defendants had approached his client for settlement.

He stated that WAYEF had already begun the process of notice of committal to prison on the defendants by filing Forms 48 and 49, adding that it was unfortunate that people could no longer trust the government in the country.

The case has been adjourned to September 24, 2012 for report of settlement.
Adoke's intervention is just to keep another dirty linen of Jonathan's from getting out in the open. But Turai should have non of it.
If she cant have it then no first lady should.

If eventually a judge grant's Turai's lawyer's request to commit First Lady Jonathan to prison, I hope he will be kind enough to allow our president retain his conjugal visitation rights because I cant imagine the level of instability that could result in Nigeria

On a serious note I wonder how many of our nations assets are being dissipated so brazenly through executive fiat.

Politics › Re: Kidnappers Take Over Warri by Pennywise(op):
This thread originated when kidnapping peaked in Warri earlier in the year. Not long after this the Gov made a scape goat of the state anti-kidnapping task force headed by a police officer. The officer had apparently been getting some kind of patronage from his excellency without result. But fighting kidnapping is not like bribing INEC. He was branded and whisked off to his masters in Abuja. Thereafter, a bit of window dressing was done for all to see.

Now the kidnappers are back with vengeance. They dont even bother taking their victims outside town any more. Business is brisk and booming and many new players are relocating to Warri everyday. There is no shortage of employees in this business. Besides youth unemployment in Warri hovers around 90% many of whom had seen good money and the better life under Ibori govt. The king pins might be the only ones doing big things round town now which means they too have to watch their back.

With 2 medical doctors forced to cool their heels in kidnappers den, the NMA is on a collision course with Uduaghan's govt. We are not talking of lesser people whose strike mean nothing to govt. I am seriously considering a midlife career swap. The risk of a kidnapper getting caught in Warri is near zero. Even if you do all you get is a 2yr vacation in the big house-admittedly not the best of place to be but when weighed against the windfall of a positive outcome it becomes very tempting. At least it is nothing like the death penalty or life imprisonment that has been legislated into life in other states.

Any way if I do eventually put my thoughts into action and I succeed, I will let you all know in these pages. If I dont succeed and pennywise is exposed gun in hand on Channels Tv at least you get to have the priviledge of knowing how it all started.

Jonathan is a disaster. Somehow I think we have not seen d worst of him yet.

He has told Nigerians loud and clear- I am overwhelmed and I am also incompetent to rule.

He has also indicated to all public officials that he is firmly in support of official graft by refusing to declare his assets.

And the fact that Diezani-Maduekwe works for Jonathan and his wife and not Nigeria is not lost on us.

The dollar sold for N163 yesterday. Nigeria is unravelling.

And to think that I actually supported him . . .

The present Oba dynasty dates back to well b4 that. I vaguely rem the names of Benin obas that ruled in the 11th century. 15 century is relatively recent history. It was when the portuguese made their first economic contact with d binis long b4 d british.

Meanwhile the Ogiso dynasty of Benin kingdom originated over 1000 yrs b4 d present oba dynasty. So go figure.
