Being a governor's father must have its perks |
Very well deserved appointment. The next big challenge is the accent thingy. We yorubas dont let go easily. |
Wigs remain a potent fleecing tool in the hands of lawyers. What shouldnt cost more than 5k, the moment a lawyer wears his wig it becomes 50k. I dont think Naija lawyers are in any hurry to dump the wig. |
Fashola is truly a Governor with a vision, on a mission. He is doing great things for Lagos |
@Ngak This medical doctor calls someone who dared to express a contrary opinion on a public forum psychotic. I am tempted to call you a filthy field mouse and a church rat, but I wouldnt. Everyone can see the open display of gangsterism by this so called doctor and mouthpiece of strike engineers. You are loud and desperate. Your views does nothing to assuage the presently held belief that doctors are a bunch of greedy parasitic lot. You tried to justify an unjust strike by propagating lies and falsehood. House officers here have acknowledged 173k/mth and u claim a neurosurgeon gets paid 171k? A Neurosurgeon(brain surgeon) consultant still collects 171,000 asIt is common knowledge that when rascals within the ranks of doctors want to forment trouble they frequently use senior and respected colleagues as fulcrum to attack the govt even if these erudite doctors cannot, will not ever be seen to be associated with them. AEveryone knows that the reason the state govt requested for additional security is because gangsters like you were trying to force out dutiful and conscientious doctors from their consulting rooms. 3days ago,we were issued sack lettersEvery medical doctor consultants inclusive can do locum. A single letter is all that is needed to convert them to substantive employees of Govt. Keep watching. It is arrogance exhibited by individuals like this that gives Nigerian doctors a bad name. Employers anywhere should be on the look out for them as only one treatment is good enough: an instant dismissal otherwise called SACK. |
Kobojunkie: Controlled detonation of a bag that contained no bomb? huh
By putting a bomb fooool. That is why it is called controlled detonation. This girl is so dull. What are you reading? |
I opened a thread on this matter a while back. I have to say Fashola has done well in doing the right and only thing under the circumstances. https://www.nairaland.com/929047/on-going-strike-lagos-doctors If it was Jonathan-the-fool he would have thrown money at the doctors thereby worsening an already bad situation. All the other state govts on account of the huge publicity this matter has generated will have no choice but be hard put to compromise masses oriented services in favour of some already well paid but very greedy civil servants. A certain fellow who claims to practice in Abuja as a paid doctor claims her sympathy is altruistic. But she forgot she said on this forum that she is being retained by her pvt employers on CONMESS (or CONSHIT)scale. In order words if the strike succeeds she can call her employers for a re-negotiation.Which is why some pple say 'its always about the money'. Another 'clever doctor' did an off hand calculation and arrived at what it will cost LASG without figuring in the nurses, lab scientists, pharmacists, radiographers etc etc. All talks about a previous agreement that was extracted from the govt should be ignored like it did not happen. The govt could even have signed to deliver the state treasury into the hands of doctors' union in order to have sanity, but we know that cannot happen. The only thing the people can hope for is that Fashola being the politician that he is remains steadfast and does not waver. The people behind this criminal conduct are mostly medical officers who are under 10yrs in practice. They are doctors of fortune who will do anything for money. The more experienced and responsible ones cant be bordered and are comfortable with things as they are. In as little as five working days Lagos hospitals will function at 100% prestrike doctor capacity if the state govt is serious about it. No use worrying about the sacked ones they wont be hungry. They have a will to make money and so there will be ways for them. For the house officers who are being used, it is up to them to either return back immediately and complete housemanship or go with their rogue colleagues. Meanwhile they should not forget hundreds of their colleagues who may have finished med school before them who have not been fortunate for years to get placement for housemanship. The guild is a real disgrace to all Nigerian doctors working as medical professionals or not. Yes we recognize the criminality going on in govt. We see the daily scandal and the thievery going on in the houses of assembly both at state and Federal levels. Even all the action going on at the councillor and local govt chairmen levels. We cannot duplicate that in our hospitals and hold patients to ransome. The councillors, Local Govt chairmen and the honourable members are our collective problem and we will deal with them at an appropriate time. |
texazzpete: There are no 'good people of Lagos State'. There are only SHEEP.No doubt this is one fact her fortune seeking doctors know so well. texazzpete: Doctors have gone on strike repeatedly over failure of the Lagos State government to live up to agreements and solutions agreed on in the past. Before the Lagos State govt was babbling last year about requiring the House to pass the budget before the demands were implemented. Now it's this ridiculous blackmail that's making the rounds. If any concession was extracted from the govt that will see house officers and residents getting paid teaching allowance, such a document should be discarded in the interest of all as it is myopic and the eventual chaos it will engender will do no one any good including the doctors themselves. I believe the best approach is for the state govt to give these striking doctors an ultimatum to return back to work failing which their position should be declared vacant. This way those agitating for teaching allowance will realize how few they are indeed. When striking lecturers were sacked in Ilorin a few years ago some people waited for the heavens to fall, but it didnt- there was no bang any where not even a whimper. This will produce by far less backlash if any. |
The reason for the on-going strike by doctors in Lagos hospitals appear rather hazy. It is said that there are two sides to every coin. At the moment the only side in the media is the government side which is that resident doctors and house officers are demanding teaching allowances for their input in the training of medical students. This is yet to be refuted by the Guild of medical doctors behind the strike. Until a contrary position is made available by the other side it will form the basis of my opinion on the strike issue. At once my view of the doctor's position is that it is obscene, it is immoral and even criminal and therefore the organizers deserve to be prosecuted and jailed for every loss of life or injury suffered by patients in these hospitals. Teaching was not in your job description therefore you have no right to insist on payment for a job you neither signed for or known to have done. If you did it and you feel your input is not being appreciated then you are free to stop. You have no right or justification to withhold other services for which you get a just remuneration by going on strike. Their going on strike is nothing short of a criminal behaviour. Resident doctors and house officers are not part of the academic commune involving lecturers and students, interaction in the wards not withstanding. If they want to teach medical students alongside their own training then this can be negotiated and specific assignments will be given to them. But what happens if a resident doctor fails or keeps failing in his exam? And these same resident doctors keep impacting toxic knowledge on the students. In order words only fellowship certification guarrantees a mastery of knowledge and skill that is worth paying for. Secondly, if the government gives in to this blackmail then it will have no reason not to pay nurses, pharmacists, optometrists and lab scientists similar entitlements. Today's politicians are businessmen who have no clue about governance. All they yearn is 'stability' so they can loot as much as possible. Fashola's govt will be creating a dangerous precedent in the country if it accedes to this demand. The present executive of the guild of medical doctors have embarrassed all doctors. There is only one thing left for them to do- resign en mass and tender an unreserved apology to the good people of Lagos state and the govt. |
He he. U can't get that number even in Bayelsa. Statistical parody. |
Perhaps we should tell the president to stop behaving like a school child. |
Those of us who dislike football are actually in the majority. The real man sport is the pugilist trade. Not football.Too boring. Cant force my self to like it even if I tried.I do tolerate it occasionally when valued friends come around and choose to embarrass themselves watching SS. But football is out of the way at the earliest opportunity. |
I dont mind a babe asking me out. She get to be fine sha. And tall. And slim. Arszy. Boobsied. She doesnt have to be very bright. No complaint abt money-this is important. But they are usually wanting in one or all these. For these reasons I prefer to pick one whose shortcoming I can live with. |

This cant be a serious reporter. How can you investigate how much oil is being stolen by flying over a region. Reporters are daily risking their lives at battlefront seeking out news worthy materials. The worst thing that can happen to him in the creek is getting kidnapped. Everyone knows that these ND guys are no religious freaks, they are business men. No one will cut off his head. If he wants to get people interested let him come down and do some serious investigative reporting not this child's play. |
Tunjman: I think a bill should be passed barring all public office holders from travelling abroad for treatment...maybe by then, our consulting clinics would be upgraded. These guys will argue they were already in money bf they assumed public office and that they are paying for medical services with their own money which we already know is hog wash. On the other hand, we can tax their medical expenses. Slam a 500% tax on medical expenses for services that can be rendered in Nigeria.Even this is still a no-win situation for the masses as it will only escalate embezzlement by these mutants. |
I wont be surprised if the US and the UK refused to grant him visa. David Mark is a personification, an embodiment and an icon of corruption in today's Nigeria. The Israelis shouldnt bother doing anything to his corrupt arse. Let them take his money and ship him back home. |
Spyder! You weave good stuff. Keep weaving bro. I think I just regained my appetite to really build something! |
What I really want to know is how the spouse arrived |
Men are usually older sometimes much older than their wives. so .. . . .? |
Indomie |
Not necessarily. The fortune of a business (in the sense of self employment) may be up today but down tomorrow just like the established multinationals. If things are low u take the pain but when things are good u enjoy the windfall. The sky like they say is your limit. Paid vacations that employees get excited about means nothing to you. There is limitless opportunity for self actualization and achievement. Your employees get paid in cash but u get the glory for all their hard work and sweat. There will be no Ballmer without a Bill Gate |
No u can have him. But I am not sure he wants you I could take u, If u ask nicely! |
