Me like too but strictly on the arsse. grin
I find it hard to understand why peeps dislike mild to moderate stretch marks. I think they give d skin a certain 'life' and tenderness and ultimately a yearning to hold, feel and caress.

Of course I have seen the other kind of stretch marks like those on Mama Ibeji's arms and armpit u can see 1km away. And I am not talking about those.

Romance › Re: Types Of Men You Should Never Date by Pennywise(m): 8:38pm On Apr 03, 2012
While d write up makes for an interesting read, in real life it is complete thrash.

1 A man can be one two or any other of the listed categories depending on d kind of lady he has to deal with.

If that is d case what is the use trying to situate him from previous or same relationship (as the woman too can also change). Therefore is it not better to accept any man for whom he is?

2 During dating there is usually a lot of role playing. The real man will emerge after marriage.

3 A man with modest means can be your model dream date. But a changed fortune and some money in his pocket can alter all that.

The house looks abandoned and rather unbefitting of the status of a bursa of a first rate Nigerian University. What happened to all the billions they keep sinking into that Uni.

Those are meaningless caricatures, fit for burning or the refuse bins.

Politics › Re: Kidnappers Take Over Warri by Pennywise(op): 4:49pm On Mar 28, 2012
shooo. Na the women and children convict Ibori?

Warri on account of its geography is probably the easiest to police. There may be no more than 4 exits. Good communication, motivation, vehicles and availability with a chopper in the air can solve this problem. All these cant take more than a fraction of the state security vote. Everything comes down to willingness to confront the problem.
Politics › Kidnappers Take Over Warri by Pennywise(op):
To the uninformed Warri is the defacto capital of Delta State and the State Governor's home town. Kidnapping takes place in Warri day and night and as a matter of course. There is hardly any family in that small town that has not been affected one way or another by kidnapping. A lot of people will do anything right now to avoid Warri even if their livelihood comes from there. The IG's order that check points be disbanded was considered by many to be an opportunity for increased patrol by policemen. Whoosai. Rather it has aggravated a problem that has been brewing for months

Right now there is an exodus of people away from that town as rich and poor, women and children are getting kidnapped for money. How many people have to suffer humiliation and death before the Government intervenes. The state Government has had an unsavoury reputation since inception. This is an opportunity for self redemption as confidence in it is at an all time low.

If Jonathan stays in Aso rock another 4yrs, there will be no Nigeria. We will have utter chaos. We are already losing the sense of Nigeria being a state. Foreign media frequently refer to Jonathan these days as Nigeria's 'weak central Govt'

Perhaps what you want to do is stir up a discuss or see peep's reaction/attitude to what appears to be a risky behaviour. To start with rapists and murderers dont usually drive around town hoping their victim will flag them down. They will usually have planned and targetted their victims. I will say most of the time its safe but realise u take a risk each time.

I give lifts occasionally. Especially if she is alone (beautiful) and in a place I feel her security may be threatened. The most annoying thing is that every girl you help expect you to toast her or give her your number. When you dont, mood turns sour. These days I pretty much like to keep to myself and let area boys have her.

Family › Re: How Do You "Live" With An Adulterous Husband? by Pennywise(m): 3:21pm On Mar 24, 2012
@OP

The husband is very wrong to allow his indiscretion to cause his wife pain. Its not as if she went out of her way to investigate him. She deserves more respect than she is getting from him and I hope he realizes that too. You cant claim you love your wife if you are uninterested in her happiness.

Secondly if the man had been banging all day long and he gets home and she says she wants it now, he must generate an adequate erection.

Thirdly, I dont understand how educated men can still struggle with stds in this age of designer condoms. A lot of men wont even get an (away) erection without cd.

Fourthly if he has been providing for his wife, he should do more. Any gf who refuses to respect wife time should be sacked.

It remains to be seen if these panacea can assuage the wife's hurt feelings. Most women will be comfortable with it though. Blissful marriage goes on until the man retires from his evil ways. Some dumb ones will leave (or otherwise start petty mayhem) thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Someone even hinted that this is a 'Nigerian man' problem forgetting all dicks behave the same- whether black, red, yellow, green etc.

I heard of a study that said 96% of Americans earning 100k and above per annum are unfaithful to their spouses and that is assuming all respondents to that study were telling the truth. If she eventually leaves, it will only make sense for her to get herself a place a few rungs down the social ladder or better still get an unemployed male and hope he doesnt get a job b/c if he does, the women will come and she will be back to square one.

If we truly have a govt, then the head of the Nigerian cutoms would have been sacked by now for refusing to act three months after this matter was brought to his notice. I am not even talking about the small fry at the port. But we have no govt. Jonathan is in Abuja playing 'president' and the lawmakers continue to share largese.

Travel › Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by Pennywise(m): 4:54pm On Mar 20, 2012
My personal experience:

I came to the uk on a 3yrs student visa (South chelsea college),when i got here went straight to college to register and pay my school fee,few months of study i noticed the college is nothing but crap (Please when applying for college in the uk i beg of you avoid this college as they are nothing but scammers,no lecture going on they just want your money, been there for almost 3yrs now with no single exam,if you don't pay school fee they threatened you with immigration)i got fed up and starts looking for a job as i'm self sponsored, looked everywhere with no luck

Eventually a friend told me the easy way to get a job in london is to go for a training job i.e you must pay money for training course and he linked me up with an agency that works for london underground to clean trains

I did the training for a total of £700 pounds (London underground entry permit and Depot Track Competent Person),as soon as i the training i got a job straight away,i started cleaning trains,i will say it's the hardest job in london

Eventually after 1 and a half year i got fedup as my health couldnt cope with the hard labour and stress anymore,i left with no single savings all gone towards bills and feeding

Got another 2hrs job at the new westfield shopping centre in stratford (Zara Store)

I must say uk is very very hard for people who wants to come here with no sponsorer please think again

I've been here for almost 3yrs with nothing to show for it,it makes me sad and cries sometimes cos i never planed it this way, going back home is out of question, would have been better if my college was a good one atleast i will get a qualification and i've got no where to stay,my dad is late and mom is looking up to me at the moment i feel hopeless,i was doing fine back home before i came here to better myself, but God knows best

As for cheap cards to call home i think the best at the moment is the new sim card called iCard Mobile they charge 3pence per min to call mobile and 1p for landlines for those who are interested should google it

Overall please if you don't have a sponsorer look somewhere else than uk
There is so much to learn from your experience. Thanks for sharing.A certain lady comes to mind. She is going through the same ordeal. Real hard work that is socially beneath her, yet with little or no money to show for it. With no real certificate, coming back to naija is not an option and the years just keep rolling by. Being an unmarried lady puts her in an even more difficult situation than you.

It pays to see it all as a bad business. At some point like in any bad business, you consider cutting your loss and moving on.

Nairaland General › Re: The New Nairaland Is Such A Bad Experiment by Pennywise(op): 4:37pm On Mar 18, 2012
@Seun
We didn't change Nairaland for the purpose of modernizing the look. We moved from PHP and SMF to a new platform that we understand very well, Python and CherryPy, so we can start adding new features regularly. We had to change the look because the old look doesn't belong to us and we used the opportunity to create a theme that looks alright on mobile phones and PCs. I made a bet that a uniform look on mobile and web will give us unique advantages. It was my call.
Maybe this is where the problem lies. The technology now is different but you didnt need to change the theme! The new theme may work perfectly for mobile users but for web users it is a complete disaster. Both mobile and web users on fbk have different themes but we enjoy it nonetheless.

You can leave the present theme for mobile users and retain the old theme while using the new technology for web users.

Secondly folks talking about web traffic melt down are not helping issues. We should think more constructively b/c good or bad NL is a desirable part of our lives and that is why we are here. I had a seen a scenario a few years ago when some folks tot their departure from NL will collapse the site. Anyway traffic doubled. No shame admitting it. A lot of us are NL junkies and Seun is the dealer. You can get angry with your dealer but killing him shouldnt come to mind
Nairaland General › The New Nairaland Is Such A Bad Experiment by Pennywise(op): 12:45pm On Mar 18, 2012
This is not about having difficulty getting used to something new. I didnt have any problem adjusting to the old Nairaland when I signed in. I doubt it if I would have stayed beyond a few days had the website been like this. The new NL is almost a week old yet the site still looks like a kaleidoscope of white and gray. It is amorphous, it doesn't look right and it doesnt feel right even if it appears to be the best 'web interface' in the eyes of the site owner.

The old NL was good and everybody loved it. If that was the case why change a good thing? There may have been a few complaints from the 'webmasters' and 'internet denizens'. But they were few and far between and mostly unserious. The vast majority loved things the way they where.

There are many different ways the site can be modernized. What has been done is a complete no no. Other changes like the exact date and time that posts were made should be retained rather than a user having to research for it. Again it is really not necessary to have a separate record for all the posts that were initiated by a particular user. It takes something away from the anonimity the site is supposed to give.

I know several threads have been opened on this same topic, it will be insensitive for Seun to continue to ignore the opinion of users on this matter. The new Nl is difficult in fact it is impossible to love.
Family › Re: How Do One Get The Husband To Pay For His Children's Welfare After Seperation. by Pennywise(m): 5:29pm On Mar 17, 2012
Fhemmmy:

As a father, you will be the one to determine how close you wanna be with and to your kids, yes, it is the role of the father to go out there and look for what the kids will eat or drink and how to make sure that the roof over their head is always there, however, that still does not take aware from you being close to the kids. . . . . . .
Lets just say some children are easier to love than others

Fhemmmy:

Now amount of money of material could replace the love of a father, go and see most of the boys in jail and you will realize how much the boys are affected when Daddy is not home. . . . Take some of the girls that are teengers and taking care of kids, you will realize that all they were looking for was a love of a MAN (that could have been the father) but when the father is not there, they look for it outside and that MAN out there only want one thing.
It is a common fad especially in today's western culture for youths who either couldnt measure up or failed in life to put the blame on their father (in Nigeria, they will usually blame the devil). Sometimes there might even be insinuations of sexual abuse when there was none.

Fhemmmy:

We have the choice to chose to be remembered or be forgotten.
A child who grows up and refuses to acknowledge your effort at providing for his material and emotional need is not even worth the spit.

Family › Re: How Do One Get The Husband To Pay For His Children's Welfare After Seperation. by Pennywise(m): 5:57pm On Mar 16, 2012
A stand up comedian once said that some kids do not deserve child support! The scary thing about this statement is that when looked at from a different angle, it is no joke at all.

Most successful pple in life will usually give credit to their mum b4 they even think of their dad. That is not bc they want to be unfair to their dad, hardly. It is bc women are usually closer to their offspring and play a greater role during the formative years of a child's development. The man's primary role is to go out and hunt for the family sustenance. These same successful individuals with a different mum but similar opportunities may have floundered in life. What is my point? Women should sit up and take more responsibility in raising their children.

A child who does well gets nothing but love, care and attention from the father even the so called irresponsible ones. The law may try but it cannot enforce love and real care from anyone.

@Op your situation is uniqely different from what the thread topic suggests. The care of the children is a secondary matter in what appears primarily to be an acrimonious separation. What you need is the best lawyer your money can pay for. Either that or you forget about the humiliation and beg him for a better resolution which may or may not include your return back to your matrimonial home. Couples have been known to separate and get back to have a wonder life thereafter.

It deepends. If you look at the rank and file-definitely the police are champion earners. But if you direct your periscope at the rarefied senior officer cadre, no one compares with the Nigerian army.
