BusinessRe: How To Make Money Selling Your Goods On Jumia by pepe1: 10:44am On Jul 25, 2015

Thank you. Building a brand starts from how you present your business to people. It's starts from your physical appearance, character, business name and slogan to how you deliver your service/goods and feedback from the customers who patronize you.

You can build your brand on trust, quality, prompt delivery and information to people etc. On trust, if goods has a specific feature or vice versa, let it be known to the customer. If the goods has a condition or if there is price reduction, don't waste time in informing your customers first. Let customers know the value of what they're are getting, i.e quality of the goods they're are buying. informing the people of the latest trend in goods, about how to use or maintain goods, how to spot substandard goods etc. These are just few and little things that could make your business a big brand.

For a practical example, you may follow the link on how to sell solar LED light to a fellow nairalander, who resides in Jo's,Plateau state; while I am in the South west. smiley You can read the story here https://www.nairaland.com/2431678/led-solar-step-lights-etc

So, if you could be trusted and you deliver to those you trust you, they will automatically refer your business to other people.
Alles gute!
Thanks

Well, it's good to sell on Jumia,Konga, smemarkethub and other e-commerce sites; but in my opinion, building your own brand and promoting your goods through the brand is the best way to sell your goods.
This is how I make good income from my importation business, I promote my brand through social media at www.facebook.com/phonesplusgadgets/posts/915332811863343
Pls explain better.

T/T is done thru bank. It means Telegraphic Transfer.
What rate do they use?
For instance, stanbic gives #199.5/$. Will they still use that and is there other charges?
I am trying to compare using
1. T/T
2. Shipping agent, their charges and exchange rate differential.
3. PayPal and paying the PP charges for the seller.
4. Western Union

In terms of costs and security.

Thanks

What is the difference between service charge and handling charge?

Which one would apply when I bought the item myself and sent to your address for onward delivery to lagos?

@OP,

Una dey do Father Xmas or Money Laundering ni.

Your store product called "Travel Portable Easy Fill Perfume Atomizer" is listed for NGN 1,000 and you ship nationwide include location KExpress charge NGN 1.5k.

My questions,
1. What is your cancellation rate?

2. How do you break even with the product?
3. Who pay for the loss you incur when you ship to locations outside state capitals where Konga charge 1.5k?
4. If you use Self-Fulfil, how do you deliver to Locations outside Lagos, say Yobe?

Abeg, come answer this questions.

Thanks.

BusinessRe: Your Opinion On Danfo Business. by pepe1: 3:54pm On Jul 03, 2015
I have done the biz before.
It is very lucrative... only

If you the owner would either be the driver or conductor.

If you have your normal day to day biz situated along the bus route and have all the time to go to anywhere...because they will definitely tell you stories and you will have to move immediately to confirm that.

If you are a soldier or naval officer.

If you have a soldier boy at your beck and call who must be ready to move at any time.

You are a top NURTW/NARTO agbero or you know one.

I could go on...but permit to inform you that the biz is very lucrative and some of the danfo drivers have more than ten buses on the road.

I want to get an item from Amazon UK and ship to ur address.

It weighs 8kg.

How much would you use to ship it to lagos?
BusinessRe: Konga Orders: What Next by pepe1: 8:53am On Jul 03, 2015
iMerchant:
You have the option to restrict the states where you ship to on SellerHQ.

If the seller ship nationwide, maybe he/she is just trying to dispose the product at all cost.

Half full cup is better than no water. (I hope you understand)

Regards
Yes boss... I got you very well and that's what I do. Just that whenever I see those listings, I keep wondering whether there is something they know /do that I don't.

Thanks for your response.

Use KExpress. They only charge for successful delivery unlike other logistic partner.

Regards
Boss, pls I have a question.

You will find stores on konga that display items worth about #1750 and still offer free delivery to places that would cost abt #1500 to ship using KExpress.

And obviously the product is worth more than #250.

Any idea how they do it?

It is sad, but if those are illegal structures. The government have the right to demolish them. The state government should help them out though.
Some of them are not illegal structures just that they have to give way for the expansion of Lagos-Badagry Exp Way.

I love the response of the people. As painful as the demolition was to them, they still stood by the government decision. No one claimed withc hunting or the likes.
I am proud of Lagosians anyday. Enlightened. Switched on. I can imagine the tribal war that will be generated if government was to do the needful in Alaba or Festac area.
Now you are the one trying to stir up the tribal war.
This same demolition has been on for more than 3 years and have passed through places like orile-Iganmu, Maza-maza, Festac 1st 2nd & 3rd gates, Iyana-iba, Alaba-rago mkt etc. Guess you know those who were mostly affected... and there has not been any tribal.

Some of you love to cease every opportunity to start tribal tantrums.
