When people were actively supporting this Tinubu i was beginning to question my memory on past events. because anybody who is supporting him, either did not love in Lagos during his time as governor, is just plain ignorant or a media center helpdesk spammer. That man did nothing for Lagos and i kept saying it that Fashola is the real person who put a sparklimg ligjt on the lagos you know today. I was there all through that time, even during the time of Marwa, then Tinubi, fashola, even Ambode. I saw everything and i can categorically state that Lagos was at it lowest during the time of this man as Governor. |

We should allow him to go, let's settle for an indigenous coach we can more easily afford to pay. What makes you think Nigeria cannot afford a foreign coach? |

DeLaRue: On several foreign forums, you will see several hundred comments from people from around the world on a topic that is totally unconnected with national governments, a Nigerian will pop up and comments so negatively about his country, you just shake your head.
Countries like Pakistan, Lebanon, Argentina and several others are in worse economic and political situation than Nigeria, but commenters from those countries do not denigrate their countries such crass way as many Nigerians do on foreign sites.
Even as expensive as things have become recently, many things including petrol, cement, food etc are still cheaper in Nigeria than in many of our smaller neighbouring countries.
You talk your country down and even curse the country on foreign sites, and you expect Nigeria or Nigerians to be respected abroad.
The ability to criticise a government is an absolute necessity in any democracy. But is constant abuse, name calling, and cursing the best approach. I don't think so. You never really dey online forums and commentary sections of countries like US, Kanada, UK and other western cointries be that, the only difference with Nigeria is that we are alot more than thesr people so our vooces are amplified |

Car Talk › Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by PepeXKermit: 9:56am On Feb 18, 2024 |
therealesttin: After speaking to a lawyer, I was told this:
Morally, seller may be wrong, but legally, seller has committed no offense. As correctly said earlier, verbal agreement is tenable in court (if there is evidence such as WhatsApp message, transfer info narration when the buyer was paying for the car, or witnesses from both parties at the point of the verbal agreement. According to him, the property remains the sellers, until handed over to the buyer, even if all payment has been completed according to their contract.
Let us note here that the law is not sentimental, what may be right legally may not be right morally.
This case is quite similar to that of the woman who purchased a bag, and while the seller was preparing to hand over the bag to buyer, discovered some money in it. Seller removed the money but buyer insisted that since she has paid for the bag, the bag and contents now belong to her. Legally, this would have been true if the seller had handed over the bag to her and then she (buyer) now makes the discovery. However, since the transaction hasn’t been completed (by handing over the bag to buyer despite the fact that buyer has fully paid) then the bag still belongs to seller and seller can give a full refund to the buyer. This may seem morally wrong but it is legally right.
Just like if I sell a car to you and you have fully paid but I haven’t handed over to you, and the day you come to carry it in my house I discover during the final search that I have N1 million cash hidden somewhere in the booth and remove it, will you claim that because you have fully paid for the car, my N1 million now belongs to you? Its most likely that there was whatsapp messages to help the buyer solidify his claim to the car especially if the buyer has already been handed the keys and was already driving the car when the seller came to meet him and tell him he was no longer interested. |

olibeans: If God no wan punish you, why una eye go dey dey person property..? Car mart no full everywhere.
As long as the contractual agreement wasn't completed, the seller cannot be compelled to sell his or her property but the buyer can be compensated gentlemanly and that can also be reached. What do you mean why una eye go dey another person property? Did he steal or covet it or what? What led to his eye being there in the first place. Its difficult having logical arguements with you Nigerians and its because most of you are not exposed so your mentality always stems from rascality and taking illegal short cuts to get things done. The world does not work like that. You guys have told yourselves lies many years and imprinted it into your thought process, both you, that of the people around you and you guys by default transferred that kind of mentality to your kids. I feel sorry for the next generation coming after you guys. Its so pathetic really. . |
Car Talk › Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by PepeXKermit: 8:33am On Feb 18, 2024 |
olibeans: Let him provide the agreement papers. There are terms to a contract. Since it cannot be settled gentlemanly, then legally. You cannot force, coerce or compel someone to sell their property.
Since the agreement hasn't been formalised completely, both can negotiate and renegotiate terms.
The car still belongs to the seller. Abi is it a hire purchase contract?
Make una commot eye from people property. Don't be too attached to things. Lmao! its obvious you have never been to a court or had a course case before to know that a verbal agreement with evidence stands in a court of law. if you say there is no contract, then other factors that determines the stance of both parties will be determined. the seller will have to explain how the money of the buyer got into his bank account and was conversations led to that. Let God now punish you, there are WhatsApp messages, (which there must be). you guys always think like kids or people who did not go to school or understand logic. the way Nigerians dey process things eh, una dey baffle me |

Nothing to do with it just keep it there sp that when 1 dollar becomes 10k they smile and catch out abi At least the househelp husband was wise to have invested it properly into his businesses and grow our economy not greedy rich fools. You do not earn up to 100k naira a month, your statememt makes it obvious. Until you have money, you will not know what it means to have money and it safe to assert from your statememt that you have not had alot of money before. Mind you, there is no law that insists you must out your money in the bank, it is also not criminal to "hold" money at home, what the law is against is movement of physical cash in certain amounts from point to point. |

themanderon: You are not allowed to keep a certain amount of money at home if one is living in a country that works. There are domiciliary accounts he could have opened for that purpose. Naira is sinking because of acts like this. Even in Kenya I heard they sold their Eurobond and they have so much dollars that the Kenyan shilling is rising making people that hoarded the dollar to bring it out and sell. Riddle me this, i should keep my dollars in the bank that the nieria govt is about to convert all usd holding to naira? The same naira that is falling like a pack of cards thrown out the window? You guys know nothing about economics. There is an aspect of it that is emotional, psychological. This is what determines investors confidence (that is why that is a word). Your government has done a very good job at killing confidence of everyone (citizens and investors alike) as to why they should have things done the way it should be done. |

Chachamiliano: This is just a fraction of Nigerian problem. There is an interior motive of hoarding such huge cash in this economy. Imagine if the amount has been thrown back into the economy.
They even have mind to report and police did not quiz them? Naija my country Whwt do you mean by hoarding? Is this money in anyway related to the relief fund that the government needs to ease the scarcity of dollar in nogeria? Going by your logic, if you have 10k dollars at home, as a private citizen its a problem because you are hoarding it from circulation? What if i dont want to use my money now? Whwt if i have plans for it in the future and not now? Why should i convert the money and keep it in the bank till when i want to use it when the value of naira keeps depreciating daily? So i convert 51k dollars, to naira, which is somewhere in the range of 100m, keep it in the bank for 2months until when i want to use it, then its purchasing power shrinks and i have to pay more money to achieve my goals because i love nigeria so much and i want what is best for it by keeping my money in naira so that nigeria can be good? These pockets of individuals are not the problem, nigeria is sinking from the top and you all are attacking private people.. i can tell you are yoruba from this reasoning. continue. There's is no sale here.....he paid but there was no exchange of goods or receipt...... He can't force the seller to sell his goods.....
He can only argue other technicalities in court ...... like if he has official proof he borrowed money with interest to pay for the car ...which can make a judge award small compensation . No judge will force a seller to sell his goods That car does not belong to the seller the monment the last payment was made, even if there was an initial payment, the car does not belong to both of them anymore except an agreement was breached. |
