How can 5kg be 5,295 but the difference between the 15kg and 10kg (I.e 5kg) price is 665naira.

While I am not making a take on authenticity of deal, I may just point out that generally puppy feed are more expensive than adult if you compare the quantities. You are comparing 15kg adult kibble with 10kg puppy kibble.

The 3 boys and 3 girls as they turn six weeks.

The pups turn 5 weeks over the weekend. All 6 are doing well. Dewormings going according to plan. First vacc in sight upper weekend.

This is what we are talking about. How can a breeder allow a 4 week old pup be taken home by new owner

Poster hand feed with milk formula (0-6 months) mixed with water. Light not too thick. Use syringe. If pup has not been able to feed independently from feeding bowl. Transition to feeding bowl over next one week by placing pup infront of it. You can gently nudge mouth into bowl or allow it discover as it licks the edges. Begin to thicken with ground or blended kibble which you make thicker as the pup approaches and reaches 6 weeks when you may transit to canned puppy food but make sure by then it is able to find and drink from water bowl which MUST always be available. In all these use bottled water please as the pup is a soft target for infections. You transition to dry kibble between 6....7 weeks.
Then very important wash bowl clean before after each meal. Keep soroundings clean always. It is defenceless against infection if you allow or expose it.

One way to ensure your dogs are at optimum health is to use their vaccination schedule times to also do check ups. For producing dams you can plan those checks around their heat cycles. For GSDs especially long hair which is our main focus they will normally come into season after they have shed their coat and put on a new coat. You can also use the cycle that has been established for older dams by getting them checked out before they come on heat.
You can also have a vet come around monthly to just check on your dogs as some infections are asymptomatic she may not show up with physical signs but on investigation.

Talking about transactions on jijji our own experience is a mix bag. Yes we have made 2 successful sales of pups via Jijji. However the person we sold to now used pics we sent during the transaction to start promoting her page. Some pups on the promotions did not belong to her but PeraGSD. We told her to pull down pics of our pups she was using without permission but she refused and blocked us.

In the color section for GSD it gave breed standard colors. It did not mention crossings. At the end of the day if you do cross same line across colors you will still get a combination of pups from the parents as individual pups. Like the example of the pic i shared above you will have black/ tan and all black pups. So do enlighten me please i am open to learning.

Different colors of same line can be crossed. And yes intentionally too. A cross between an all black and a black/red is done intentionally to increase pigmentation sometimes and bring same into gene pool of progeny who will maybe later bred in or out to accentuate a trait or two.

Pic is a recent mating. You may notice the black and tan color of dam. Breeder wants to improve pigmentation generally and progeny can now be crossed with a black and red.

As for me all dogs are adorable and deserve to be cared for..the only thing that annoys me is when breeders mislead people just for the purpose of their own gain(been a victim of this misinformation before),that's why I do advice intending dog owners that "a good purebred dog of good quality will never come cheap" but if your budget can't afford it(no pb),you can then opt for the cheaper one but then just go online,check what the breed you want looks like then compare with what you're being offered if you're still OK with what you're seeing,go for it (but keep in mind that the only dogs that can claim purity are those with good pedigree info)
In conclusion,it is always best to do your research well before getting a puppy not after getting the puppy,and always make sure you see parents pics before buying,its very essential. Your dog is adorable by the way (I generally love puppies ) but I don't see any sign of Gsd,its more like local (give it time though let's see what it grows to look like) in the meantime savour the feeling of puppy-parenthood

I bought this two pups from a breeder, the black is female , I bought it 1 month ago, but I noticed her Ears are now pointing up.
So the breede encouraged me to get a male for mating and for stud, so I went to pick the male last 2 weeks, he is also looking chubby, the breeder said the male is 3 months old.
Now I'm doubting if the male is really a GSD ,my wife called my attention to his Ears, they are flat and no signs that his Ears will rise anytime from now.

This is first first time raising a foreign dog so I don't have any experience yet and I don't know much about identifying a pure breed

Yes I am out of there. Left a long time ago. Went down another career path.

Interesting read. It reminded me of my days in the oil industry were our team was responsible for something similar but on land. We did flight following monitoring flights from onshore to offshore rig. The chopper chimed in on take off and every 10 mins with coordinates of current location which we logged. We were also responsible for routing any "man overboard" emergency as maybe necessary too. Other interesting stuff then too.

Ofcourse we get attached to our pups having spent time to watch them emerge as delicate fragile pups to frantic bubbles of activity and play. Caring for them every step of the way. But from the onset the mind is already in sync with the fact that they'll have to move. Yes that bond is there but does not change the fact. One may also almost reverse a deal sometimes...but we gotta do what we gotta do you know
