Since the coming of Messi and C ronado Reign, some football fans has been calling them the GOATs . Pele was named for his outstanding performances in Santos but importantly the the fifa world cup which is regarded as the greatest sporting competition in the world. It is in history that he won 3 fifa world cup meaning that he ruled the world for 15 years and the world champions.
Same is said about diego maradona who played very well too for boca junior and later napoli and barcelona but did greater things for argentina with the most unbelievable individual performance in the fifa world cup.

While messi and C ronaldo has world football through European cup competition the champions league, They have failed to conquer the world like Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo Delinma, and Zenedine Zidane did. Don't get me wrong, Messi and C ronaldo are great footballers, butthey will be remembered as people who did unbelievable things in world football individually but failed to be the world champions just like soccer greats like EUSOBIO of purtugal with4 champions league and 9 league titles for benfica, Johan Cryuff of Holland with 3 chapions league for ajax and 7 league titles, Alfredo Destefano Of Argentina With 5 champions League and 8 league titles with real madrid, , Pukas of Hungary with 4 champions league and 5 league titles for madrid, Mitchel Platini of France with one champions league and many league titles for juventus and George Best of Man United and Scotland.

Finally, let us be reminded that in Argentina, Maradona is Argentina greatest footballer followed by messi, C Ronaldo is Portugal greatest footballer followed by EUSOBIO and Figo, al Fredo destafano is Real madrid greatest footballer followed by C Ronaldo. While Messi is Barcelona Greatest footballer.

Let us note that no matter how you want to argue it, [/b]FIFA will never crown who didnt win the FIFA WORLD CUP AS THE GOAT BECAUSE THEY WILL FEEL THE WORLD CUP IS BEING RELEGATED BELOW THE EUFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.[b]
