All you who are fighting for late yakowa, i look at ur comments and smile. Let me tell u a secrete.
Even the people of this man(southern kaduna) don't like him. The people that like him most are we the foreigners residing in the state. There brother died, instead of mourning him, they are running about lobbying for deputy governorship position. When he was on seat, they are the ones critisizing and castigating him the most. They are not united thats y the muslims are getting them. So i will say that the muslims has already won and will continue winning. lets allow things to take its course. Am just an igbo man in an hausa land looking for money. Nna men Time na money.

Contrary to what people ar saying, the holiday is not to celebrate the appointment of the governor rather to mourn the death of the late governor.

Kaduna State Government has declared a seven-day mourning for the late state Governor, Patrick Yakowa, who died in a helicopter crash in Bayelsa state on Saturday.
The new governor, Mukthar Yero, also declared Monday (today) as a work-free day.
In a state broadcast on Sunday, Yero said the remains of Yakowa would arrive the state on Monday.
Meanwhile, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar, has called on the Federal Government to institute a high-powered probe into the helicopter crash that killed Yakowa and a former National Security Adviser, Mr. Andrew Azazi.
The NLC also called for a thorough check of the Presidential fleet, private jetsand others in the country.
Omar said the crash indicated those entrusted in ensuring aviation safety had not done enough.
NLC said, “While we condole with the families of those who died in this crash, we urge theFederal Government to institute a high powered probeinto the cause of this crash.”

Come to think of it, have u heard that public holiday was declared to celebrate the sworing in of any political leader? be it the president.

kaduna local stations. I am based in kaduna, so am a source itself.

But i began to wonder of the fate that lies ahead of all the road projects that has been contracted out by the late governor. The developemental plan he has set in place, the budget he just recently submitted.
Can this new governor continue from where he stopped or will he allow the wrong people control him?

In respect to the demise of the late patrick yakowa, monday the 17th of December was declared public holiday. All flags are to be in half mast.
Kaduna now have a new governor, in person of Muktar lamaran Yero who was sworn in at exactly 1pm today.

The helicopter was actually blazing with fire at the sky as eye withness stated it. They saw hands of the passangers waving for help.

A military helicopter has reportedly crashed near Yenegoa in Bayelsa State, Saturday evening at exactly 6: 25pm
Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State, former national security adviser, NSA, General Owoeye Azazi were said to be in the naval aircraft at the time of the crash.
Others in the ill-fated crash include a top politician from Kaduna state Dudas Tsoho, Azazi’s orderly, the pilot andhis co-pilot.
The victims were returning from the funeral of the father of the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Douglas Oronto to Yenagoa the Bayelsa capital when the helicopter crashed into the creeks. As you read, they have not found the particular place it crashed landed.
There was no survival surely.
