Are they the ones who are according to you 'blackmailing' and 'distracting' president Tinubu from sending Nigerian soldiers to go and fight the Nigerien junta?
You still don't get it
He sent Gen Abdulsalami and Sultan of Sokoto to talk to them. These are prominent people in the North whose territory extend to Niger republic. They didn't even give them audience.
Mention people they will listen to if they can't even give audience to this two
This act is international best practices in conflicts resolution. Moreover decision to use military is not President Tinubu singular decision to make.
Politics / Re: Emerging Facts: North Will Eventually Cry Blood Over Tinubu by pharmagba: 6:17pm On Aug 11, 2023
Obi2saveNigeria:
Only a few political observers can see that Tinubu is fast sabotaging North in virtually everything. Love him or hate him, Tinubu is indeed the real Maradona of Nigerian politics. He knows how to fight dirty against both friends and foes while still pretending to be in good terms with them.

Here is Tinubu's game plan: he gives the impression that he is friend with North and against Igbo interests. However, everything he is doing so far is intended to punish the North. He has encouraged his followers to continue attacking Buhari for his maladministration while in office. He humiliated Ganduje before eventually endorsing him as APC chairman. Then again, he embarrassed El Rufai by informing the Senate through Akpabio, to block his screening on spurious security report. El Rufai realized what was happening and decided to throw in the towel. The midget former governor claimed he would rather go for his doctorate in UK. But whoever knows El Rufai, will tell you he is boiling inside and full of regrets despite the friendly disposition he still shows toward Tinubu.

While Tinubu is cutting Northern politicians to size, he is also implementing certain policies that is making North unviable for investments this leaving the people more destitute. By removing subsidy, economy of the region was hit badly than any other region in Nigeria. Before, fuel pump price used to be same nationwide but now you can buy a litre 565 in Lagos while it's sold 615 in Sokoto or Maiduguiri. 50 naira difference may seem marginal on the face value but when you aggregate it for industries, businesses and the region collectively, you will discover that they've lost billions directly and even more in terms of revenue and employment opportunities from investments that would now settle in the South due to more favourable conditions. Similarly, unbundling of electricity generation and distribution also worsens an already bad situation for Northerners. It is no longer a question of if they will ever catch up with South but now whether the region would survive going forward.

The last straw that shows Tinubu does not rate North at all and is purposely trying to sabotage them is his war mongering against Niger republic. Every informed Nigerian knows that Muslim North and Niger republic are virtually the same in almost everything except having different colonial masters and a border that exists more on paper than in reality. A war against Niger republic will damage the North in many ways. Informed Northerners know this and that's why some of them are running from pillar to post, seeking for a way out yet Tinubu has remained insistent.

If Tinubu can bare his fangs so quickly against them when there is still a strong case against him at the tribunal, then one can only imagine what will happen when/if he has no more obstacles. It appears that Western imperialists have told Tinubu he has their backing and thus he doesn't care about what Northern Muslims or Igbos think about him.

The Northerners are already crying in their hearts but wants to maintain a facade of friendship with Tinubu. But it's only a matter of time before the bubble bursts.

All the time I read all this Obident post it's disgusting!

FreedomfromtheT:
Nigeria's president Bola Tinubu is the current ECOWAS chairman.
Nigeria is s major player in ECOWAS.
ECOWAS authority of heads of state and government wants to use force ie go to war against the Nigerien junta.
President Tinubu asked for approval from the Nigerian Senate.
The Nigerian Senate says no.
The Muslim northern neighbours of Niger Republic keep chorusing no.
Tinubu has legitimacy issue and desperately wants to please the US and France perhaps to gain international acceptance.
On the other hand, Tinubu can't afford to displease the Muslim North - not at this auspicious time.
There may be rerun in the presidential election.
Even if the court ruling or rerun favours Tinubu, he will still need the North for his likely second term bid.
Tinubu thus finds himself in a very difficult situation akin to being between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Should Tinubu then resign as ECOWAS chairman and leave the rest of the ECOWAS members who are interested to go to war against Niger without Nigeria being involved?

No.
All his action are in order and in line with international best practices on conflict resolution.

He is the best man for the job.
No.blackmail or distraction can stop him from doing the good he has at heart.

A leader recieve this barage of public defamatory publications either on one of these two occasions
1- if he doing something right and step on powerful toes
2- if he is doing something wrong step on the populace toes

The question is how do we determine which one.
Simple, if all the publications are things before he attains power then, No 1,is the case. He is doing something right.

So what is President Tinubu doing right that is warranting this.
1- stopping international thieves that steal our oil, they are fighting back
2- stopping explioters of dual exchange rates
3- stopping oil subsidy thieves
4- repositioning Nigeria for growth.

Conclusion
It is obvious this publications are sponsored and huge funds is involved. Moreso some individuals which are Nigerian wouldn't mind to destroy Nigeria just for their private gain.

Business / Re: Nigerians Are Now Making Money & Cutting Transport Costs With Mycopilot App by pharmagba: 6:17pm On Aug 05, 2023
iEAN:
Transportation costs is now more than house rent and it is tearing the pockets of most of us Nigerians, many of whom live on low incomes. Some banks recently had to offer transportation allowance so that their staff can breathe, but you can’t be spending half of your salary on transport alone.

This new transport app, MyCoPilot has become the solution to many people already. With more than 1000 downloads, the current safest and cheapest mobility app is transforming transportation while creating new economic opportunities in Africa's largest economy.

How The MyCoPilot App Works cheesy
MyCoPilot app allows car owners going to work or traveling to give lifts to verified CoPilots (passengers) heading in the same direction. You just simply enter your destination and pick a date in the app, then you will find matching nearby car owners going your way. The MyCoPilot app algorithms optimize routes and pricing so people pay far less than they would for other options, while car owners earn extra income while going to work or traveling just by sharing rides with verified people.

Simple mathematics and information from the MyCoPilot team shows that car owners can earn over ₦600,000 per month just using the app while going to/from work or traveling. On the other hand, verified passengers can save up to 50% of their transport expenses monthly- a significant supplement to their normal wages.

One new and very exciting benefit of MyCoPilot is that as the app user, you will be able to get insurance coverage and even scholarships for your children or dependents just by using the app for your movements. shocked Want to benefit from this? Install the app on register and then contact the MyCoPilot team on any of their social media handles @mycopilotng or on WhatsApp with your app username for more info. → +2347055550077 you could also reach them on Telegram --> MyCoPilot Community

For a working mother like Bolatito, MyCoPilot slashes her transportation budget by over 50%. Even with the harsh economy, she is starting to get around and can use the savings for food, medicine and other necessities.

Worried About Safety & Security? Worry no More wink
MyCoPilot has more security than any other app in the category. All users are thoroughly verified with government issued IDs and facial recognition. Also, addresses are fully and duly verified before any approval. To make it even better, you can use the emergency button while on the move to alert security agencies for emergency response. And when you add ride-tracking, MyCoPilot can be said to be the safest and most reasonable road travel option in Nigeria today. It is clear that the MyCoPilot team takes safety and security as a No.1 priority.

How Nice Are The Cars? cool
After safety, vehicle standard is the next big thing with MyCoPilot. You need to see how car owners are verified on the app. Also, because comfort is a major part of the MyCoPilot promise across social media @mycopilotng, they do not accept any kind of vehicle. Among other things, it has to be a private car in good shape. Interestingly, the vehicle verification process is easy to complete.

Some people still don’t understand that MycoPilot has just solved the biggest challenge with ride-sharing which was safety. This app is set to change the whole concept of transportation in every major Nigerian city and this is why the MyCoPilot app has been getting featured everywhere; most recently they were on Bond FM and Jordan FM, WaZoBia FM, Nigeria Info FM. Other media houses are trying to catch wind of this brilliant new ride-sharing app.

Penguin2:

No. I think this might be different.

I was just discussing this with a friend. I told him that the Senate might not approve Tinubu’s request and there’s nothing Rubber Stamp Akpabio can do to help him.

The calculation is simple.

APC has 59 senators or thereabout.

The opposition has 50 senators.

The northern senators in APC after meeting with northern stakeholders will never support military action in Niger because they will suffer it most.

Any war in Niger will see people of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, etc, becoming displaced because those states will be the flashpoint.

Now, add about 20 northern senators in APC to 50 opposition senators, you will get 70.

Any bill with 70 senators against it is dead on arrival.
Na wa o!
This permutation is naive and myopic.
How can you conclude that all opposition senators will be against this
How can you conclude that all Northern senator will be against this.

Critical analysis is crucial

AlexBells:
Tinubu has drawn the first blood, Cutting Niger Electricity to me is a NO, there was an agreement to that effect and not that Niger could not build their own electricity, the agreement was that they don’t build electric dam over the Niger, divert or alter its flow in exchange for a supply of electricity from Nigeria, if anything goes wrong with the flow of the River Niger, millions will die in Nigeria especially in the North that depends on this River for Irrigation farming, fishing and transportation.

Tinubu should approach this Niger issue with caution, Niger have many ace over us in this situation, it is a war building up, I don’t know who is advising him, this is war already, there would be retaliation, Tinubu should restore these people’s electricity and get back to dialogue, I don’t know why we like going back on agreement, this was same thing that happened after Aburi accord.

SOSinNigeria:
Many thought it was a joke until a memo of troupe redeployment to Sokoto was leaked. So, Tinubu is actually about to wage war against Niger republic?

Nigerians, particularly Northerners don't even understand that their very existence is being threatened. If Tinubu succeeds in attacking Niger republic, Northern Nigeria would become desolate just like Libya. I will explain:

Many Hausa and Fulanis see Nigeriens more as brothers than even Southerners. So, it will trigger lots of traitors who would pass information to them, sabotage our soldiers and even enlist in their army to fight against ECOMOG forces (which would more or less be Nigerians). The theater of war will be Southern parts of Niger republic and Sokoto, Katsina, Jigawa, Kano and other core Northern states. I can assure you that military contractors are already salivating.

Once ECOMOG conducts airstrike on Niger republic, there would be reprisals of sorts and they would target Nigeria. Already, 300,000 Nigerian refugees are in Niger. They would become vulnerable & would head home. Sophisticated weapons will be dropped freely into the hands of Boko Haram and other terrorists & they would overrun North and head toward Abuja or even South. The Wagner group are familiar with African desert wars and it wouldn't be so difficult for them to push back against Nigeria.

This is France's war. Their economy and future viability is under threat. Because once they're successfully routed from Niger, their presence or existing neocolonialism in the rest of Africa would be threatened too. Yet, Tinubu allowed himself and in extension Nigeria, to fight a war that is not ours in the first place.

This war, if not nipped in the bud, will last for years and regardless of which side succeed, Northern Nigeria would be destroyed. Today's Libya will be paradise compared to what Northern Nigeria will become due to excessive arms and thousands of bandits that will be heavily armed. Whole towns and even states in the North will be completely governed by them.

Unfortunately, Tinubu has nothing to lose personally but an entire region would lose everything.
