Jose Mourinho oversaw the second workout of the week in preparation for Sevilla on Tuesday. The Madridista head coach had all players available with the exception of Higuain as Pepe rejoined the squad after missing approximately one month due to injury.

Twenty-three players including Pepe and Tomas Mejias participated in Tuesday's workout. The defender inured his left soleus muscle against Levante on 5 January and today trained alongside his teammates for the first time. Following routine warmup exercises, the squad split in two (Kaka, Garay, Canales, Adebayor, Granero, Marcelo, Pedro Leon, Xabi Alonso and Gago donned bibs) for a practice match during which the players were allowed to use their hands.

Real Madrid have always reached the next round in a Copa del Rey knockout stage after winning the first match 1-0

Real Madrid are 90 minutes away from playing the Copa del Rey final. The Whites have so far earned five victories, one draw and one defeat in the championship, netting 18 goals and conceding only 4. They won the first leg of the semifinals against Sevilla 1-0 at the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. This is a positive precedent, given that Real Madrid have always won a Copa knockout stage after earning a 1-0 away victory in the first leg.

The Madridistas have prevailed over Oviedo (twice), Atletico Madrid, Cadiz, Betis and Athletic Bilbao in this manner in past editions of the Copa. Real Madrid went on to earn five victories and one draw in the return legs, scoring 14 goals and conceding only 2.

The first of these knockout stages took place on 26 May 1946 against Oviedo in Madrid. The Whites won 3-1 thanks to strikes by Baringa and Elices in the first half, and a goal from Pruden in the last 45 minutes. Real Madrid went on to win the title by defeating Valencia in the final.

Atletico Madrid fell victim to Real Madrid five years later in the quarterfinals. Real Madrid drew 1-1 in the return leg. Oviedo wered their opponents again in 1984, being defeated 2-0 at the Bernabeu with goals from Angel and Santillana.

Real Madrid faced Cadiz in the semifinals of 1990. Martin Vazquez, Losada and Hugo Sanchez gave the Whites a comfortable 3-0 victory. The Whites' fifth and sixth knockout stage victories following 1-0 wins in first legs both took place in the 2006 edition of the tournament. Robinho scored the winning strike in the quarterfinals against Betis, and Athletic Bilbao were defeated 4-0 at the Bernabeu in the Last 16 thanks to strikes from Robinho (2), Sergio Ramos and Soldado.

Man forget it . . i posted this to you (worsen your already devastated plight) and you did not comment about that. There is no point taking things further . . If anyone think i have taken it personal or whatever . . i say peace and its past tense . . so it is all gone on my side. Anytime we loss or draw . . you guys are free to come and pour the fire no problem . . it will be better as from now on to just stand on the sideline. It is always normal that in a conflict for someone not to blame him/herself so lets leave everything behind and move on. You can check my initial post with all the smileys there , the sevilla thread and barca thread. Same here before the jabs throwing started , it is one thing to pass a message with your own meaning and for the other party to interpret it in a different way.The people you mentioned have not come here to state it here that i took things personal so it is just your interpretation and lack of objectivity. All in all the deed has been done so sorry to everyone who has taken offense, its good for everyone to learn from this and move on peace right?.

We will surely get there someday despite our problems of low discipline in marking our opponents as all the forward practically do not mark if they don't want to . . No marking strategy . . man to man, zoning or choking marking like barca. Not yet cohesive and playing as a team and low level ability to break a disciplined defense as a team except by individual basis. Too much shadow marking at the wings from ramos, abiol and marcelo. The midfield is not too strong and populated by players that do not know the Spanish tip tap football. . . too much pressure from the fans and board . .too much interference and backroom problems . . .all in all we will still move forward despite our problems.

Khedira has not been so that impressive . . di maria has been poor lately . . and kaka has to really comeback to fitness. . . ozil, ronaldo and alonso has been great. . not forgetting marcelo and arbeloa . . casilas is there too and kudos to benzema . . despite all the troubles i still regard him very high. Los merengues for life . . and will always be a los blancos . . always . . . cool

Our next match is the copa dey rey . . we will look forward to that and then again back to the league . . champions league is in two weeks so there was never a time i said the league aint sure anymore.

The season is not yet over the last time i checked trophies are not entirely won by boasting or making predictions . . all over europe no team has won a trophy yet. Inter is closing in on ac milan and likewise bayern is closing in on Dortmund , so we are still in all competition, if we take nothing no problem . . if we take all or some no problem . . The train moves on and Madrid matches on . . over the years our history and cabinet speaks for us . . .we have made good use of our existence as a football team.

Everything is a cycle . . so many teams are having a bad time in europe . .juventus . . Chelsea . . Liverpool and lyon so madrid is not different. Let us all wait until the end of the season before making mouth and i really doubt if you will get pass arsenal this time around . . even if you do its not gonna be easy.
