slotA4: Kindly read section 50; subsection 2c. Then you'll understand they need 2/3 majority of the entire senate to impeach the leadership and not 2/3 majority at the plenary. Judging from the precedence, impeachment of NASS leadership took place with 2/3 majority of the entire house. You are the intelligent one here. 2/3 'majority at plenary' which can be formed by number needed for quorum is not 2/3 majority of senate. Constitution says 2/3 'majority of Senate'. Politics › 1000 APC Members Join PDP In Akwa Ibom After Akpabio’s Defection by phase1(op): 8:17pm On Aug 10, 2018 |
Over 1,000 APC Members Defect To PDP In Akwa Ibom
As political parties across the country continue to experience defections, Akwa Ibom State is not left out as more than 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oron federal constituency have joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) .
This happened on Wednesday, as the former governor of the state, Senator Godswill Akpabio was joining the APC in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district. Welcoming the defectors, the state PDP chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo, said the exercise was a testimony to the fact that the PDP is the party to beat in 2019 general election in the state. He added that the party is a religion to the people of the state.
He reminded some of the defectors who were in the party before joining the APC that the tenets of the party which is, matching words with action, was still intact. He emphasised the party’s abhorrence of violence and intimidation.
Ekpo stressed that the party’s commitment to the provision of good governance as demonstrated by the governor should stimulate all well-meaning Akwa IbomAACkwa Ibom State over the years matched promises with action, as demonstrated in the developmental strides of the Udom Emmanuel administration; so I call on Oro nation to deliver one hundred percent vote to Governor Udom and the PDP in the 2019 elections.”
The party boss thanked the party leaders in the federal constituency for their loyalty and steadfastness, and the defectors for returning to their base having realised their mistakes.
Earlier, the Oron chapter chairman of PDP, Mr. Murphy Esin, assured the state chairman of the party that the federal constituency would not disappoint the PDP, noting that those that left the party before have learnt from their mistakes and would guide against repeat of such actions.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel has said that, he was not perturbed by his predecessor’s defection to the APC.
Speaking after solidarity visit by local government chairmen and officials from the 31 council areas of the state, the governor noted that every person was entitled to his fundamental human right of free association.
“The political atmosphere is helping to deepen democratic governance and reinvent the consciousness of the PDP that every member would be proud of,” he said.
He thanked the various groups for the show of solidarity and charged the council leadership to ensure that their subjects collected their PVCs.
“I therefore urge you to reach out and show love among your kith and kin and also sustain your support for PDP which is the only party that has brought development to the state since the inception of democratic governance.” https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/leadership.ng/2018/08/10/over-1000-apc-members-defect-to-pdp-in-akwa-ibom/amp/

Okoroawusa the dementee wants to be president by being anti-Igbo like most of former presidents of nigeria. He knows that once you insult Igbos, the yoruba muslims will call you 'detribalized', hail you to high heavens and even proclaim you greater than Awolowo. The Fulani muslims will give you a title and turban your head like they did Orji Kalu and adopt you as their son. He is banking on that . Unfortunately for him the information age is changing a lot of thing and moulding perceptions rapidly. Those politicians who proclaim anti-Igbo sentiments are paying heavily. He can ask Orji kalu. All politics will remain local. If your people have rejected you and your familiocracy lets see how you win at the national level. Onye ara aburu onu! |

Babiod: It was the pact nnamdi azikwe had with the north on the day he blindsided awolowo that brought the North into power in the first place,Read your history well my brother before coming to type jargons. What pact! Do you have a written copy? Or dwell on the lies of your revisionist yoruba journalists and historians? Go and pick up Awolowo autobiography written by himself, the title is Awo. In that book written and published before nigerian independence, Awo was so petty he was even jealous of the hairstyle of Igbo and Ghanian students who were richer with better fortunes as his classmates. It's all in the book. Among many other signs of jealousy evidenced in that book. When young Zik came back with his PhD and addressed students if UI with pomp, fanfare, peagentry and grand oratory Awo (then unknown as a politician) was there as a freelance journalist, with mixed feelings of jealousy and about this 'young Ibo man' who is national demagogue. Pick that book and read and see through the heart of Awo your hero even before independence. Awo as a sleazy politician would have formed an alliance with the north to deal with the Igbos he hated if Zik hadn't. He finally got the chance in 1967 and he used it judiciously as history taught us. Remind me how many millions of Igbo kids he orchestrated their deaths in cahoot with gowon when he got the chance. Remind me how many Igbo families he impoverished with the 20 pound postwar policy? Remind me who coined the word 'Naira' from 'Never Allow Igbos Rule Again' phrase during the war as finance minister? Are we kids? You are the one who needs a history lesson dude. |

CyynthiaKiss: Nice one. The way some people are hiding under " Igbo presidency 2023" to campaign for a terrorist is very archaic and disgusting.
Buhari who failed for 3 solid times while struggling to be the president does not have the key to the success of Igbo both in Economy, politics and personal lives. You guys are free to campaign for Buhari, but hiding under "Igbo presidency" is an act of political mischievousness and it must be stopped.
Enough of this madness ! Everybody should carry his own cross. Their campaign will fail. Some of the buffoons are even abookis and yoromuslims hiding under Igbo identity to fool themselves. If the likes of Joe Ibokwe and rochas okoroawusa think they can ride on being anti-Igbo to get to presidency, they'll have their hands full. Infact they'll find themselves counting sands in the desert. Waste of time. The days when people occupy political seats and comfortably insult Igbos without paying a price are over. The Information age favours the Igbo man, he has been the most progressive man in this contraption. |

Babiod: We're all Nigerians first before any tribe. If it's the Igbos that will take Nigeria forward on every aspect,As a Yoruba boy I will gladly vote for them, the president is no tribe birthright,we all own this Nation together, more so they've sacrificed a whole lot esp during civil war and they're still with us as Nigeria and as still Nigerians.Although I've not really seen much credible people with integrity as a front head as of now,and they should start correcting the notion that they can't be trusted with money and power. Sorry Sir, I know you mean well but, I'm sorry to ask you to go to hell if you feel Igbos have any notion to correct! I will be blunt. Did the fulani correct the notion of being power hungry muslim terrorists right from the days of Dan fodio before you voted them into power, did they correct the notion of looting you dry like Abacha, babangida and co before you voted them to rule your skulls? Are Tafa balogun, Obj, Aregbe,Tinubu and other yoruba correcting any notion by stealing billions from you and sharing Iresi Aregbe, and Fufu Aregbe to your parents in oshogbo? So why do think the Igbos owe you anything? Like I say always say to people who think they can insult Igbos because of the presidency To hell with you! The day Igbos figured that the presidency will always be useless even to fulani and yoruba (and have not solved the almajiri problem or the destitute beggars problem in Osun and Oyo)is the day they liberated themselve from the unworkables contraption. Anybody who thinks he can tie the Igbo nation down by dangling presidential carrots while asking them to dance a particular step is wasting his time. Eyes don open. |

One side will be saying one thing while another side will be saying something else.
The South South have begun playing aggressive politics with the defection of Akpabio while the SE will just be there cursing themselves and acting confused instead of joining in the politics.
Its only common sense that they should get connected to the center.
Their elders understand this but the mindless hormone infested youth just cannot reason beyond their emotions.
Tomorrow they will be the first to be screaming marginalization when they are actually the ones marginalizing themselves.
See APGA as a party is isolated to Anambra. No other SE state wants to have anything to do with APGA even when it is right under their noses so APGA is now localised.
Others are growing their base while APGA is dying off gradually.
Tell them.to connect to APC the ruling party and they will start shouting herdsmen as if they have never seen herdsmen before in their life or as if its the first time they have heard that name.
By the time PMB comes back in 2019 you will hear them making noise all over the place again that they are not recognized.

ANIOMADEI2018: You may hate President Buhari for whatever reason, but there is something every Igbo must agree in his administration.
Since 1999, this is the first time, all the federal roads in southeast are receiving attention. In times like this, we must acknowledge some silent facts.
All the major federal roads in Igboland are under reconstruction, no president since 1999 has remembered us this way in terms of reviving the dearth of federal infrastructures in our region.
Why acknowledging this feat, we must as a people begin to differentiate between ethnic sentiment and genuine projects being upgraded that have direct benefit to our people.
These are some of the federal roads that works are ongoing in Igboland.
Pls verify and confirm.
They are;
1. Oba – Nnewi – Okigwe road linking Anambra state with Imo state. 2. Otuocha – Ibaji – Nzam road in Anambra state. 3. Abakaliki – Onueke-Abomega – Afikpo road 4. Nnenwe – Uduma – Uburu road connecting Enugu state with Ebonyi state. 5. Oji – Achi – Mmaku – Awgu road in Enugu state. 6. Ozalla – Akpugo – Amagunze road in Enugu state. 7. IkotEkpene – Aba. 8. Enugu-Onitsha expressway. 9. Enugu-PH expressway.
Southeast roads have not had this good.
Let's thank President Buhari for this. Mr BMC, you don resume work. The picture was taken below was taken by me 2weeks ago. It is Enugu-Onitsha expressway you claimed dumbohari have fixed.

The poor almajiris zombies are discouraged from seeking power and taking their destiny into their hands while the few rich ones preach to them to 'accept their fate and destiny in spirit of Allah'.
As long as few naira bills are sprinkled once in a while in Alhaji house where they go and eat, the almajri says 'Ba damoa' Ba wahala' ''Ba komi" (No problems)
