Yoshi-Master:
In an ideal world I would support the removal of subsidy, so that the money can be used to further develop the country, but what guarantee is there that such money would be used judiciously?

Come to think of it, why do we need subsidy in the first place?

If we had working refineries, petroleum products would be very affordable for all.

Now they can claim that the subsidy money could be used towards building refineries, but again, what proof is there that the money would be used responsibly. I would rather they take out a loan to finance such projects, or hand them over to the private sector, and simply regulate.

Most Nigerians are their own government:

We provide our light (even most of us are forced to research into solar energy and contemplate huge costs just for power)
We provide our water (if you don't have borehole, then....)
...
...
but

Please we can't provide our own petrol for cheap. Here is one of the very, very, few areas in which the populous can claim, boast even, that they feel the impact of having a government.

Take that away, and what are we left with?
Nothing.
Politics / Re: David Mark’s Presidency Campaign Posters Printed In Lagos [PHOTO] by phildon: 1:49pm On Mar 20, 2013
Ete Flexible: As the clock ticks for the 2015 presidential election, more gladiators are battle ready for the soul of Nigeria.

One of those who may likely take over the mantle of leadership from Goodluck Jonathan is the current president of the senate, Senator David Aleichenu Bonaventure Mark.

We can authoritatively confirm that the Okpokpowulu of Idomaland is currently warming up to spearhead the affairs of the country, come 2015.

DailyPost over the weekend stumbled on presidential campaign posters of Mark being printed at Shomolu area of Lagos state.

The posters had a picture of Mark donned in a red and black traditional Idoma cap over a black and white apparel.

Above the poster, which is on a green and orange background, was a bold inscription, “Mark of Hope 2015.” Beneath the inscription is another was also written “David Mark for President 2015,” with the logo of the ruling party on both sides.

The poster, which is courtesy of Concerned Middle Belt for Better Nigeria (CMBBN) carries another inscription thus: “Mark my words, Nigeria will be better again.”

It would be recalled that the Idoma people in Benue State had since tipped Mark as the next President of Nigeria come 2015.

His ambition which had been an open secret in political aisle reverberated during a reception in his honour by the Idoma League of Professors, ILP, led by Prof. Owoicho Akpa, with Mike Omeri, a former special adviser to the Senate President, when they had canvassed for Senator Mark’s Presidency at the next general election; arguing that the Senate President had the pedigree to lead the nation after President Goodluck Jonathan.

Effort to reach Mark’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh proved abortive as his phone rang endlessly without answer.

In your village, community and Anambra in general, tell us what you have done? Graduates have become armed robbers, kidnappers and keke napep drivers. some of your ummuna cannot afford to eat one meal a day and their children cannot go to school. How many small scale industries have you helped to set up in your community and village; Erosion is consuming Anambra State, yet you choose to abandon your own. Will you be buried in Otuoke? Sorry, I forgot you tarred the road to your doormouth!
The best comment so far.

Nashville: .

People like you right? On a serious note, Nigeria will not develop until we begin to made demands of our leaders. Demands of integrity, competence, knowledge and accountability.

Hundreds of people have just been defrauded using fake websites of NSCDC. Now the Lagos commandant is sent out to explain to viewers the whole issue and what is being done, and the man does not think he needs to know their website before appearing on TV. That was one of the worst interviews I have ever seen. The man was plain embarassing and I am sure his oga at the top is probably worse.

Enough of this "pity the guys family or that is someone's father", the point is that the man is incompetent and he should resign.
...begin to made demands...? I'm finished!

@Kennytdista, it is either u're directly benefiting from this God-forbidden gvt or u're simply daft. Firstly, registering a merger party is not d same thing as registering a fresh party. Secondly, APC is not known only within Nigeria but all over d world of politics. Therefore d proponents of d new APC can never claim ignorant of d merger APC. This, we all know where it is coming from.

michelz: These current happenings make it very difficult for the lay masses to identify the right parties with honest ideologies and commitments neccessary for the wide-cry change that we so desperately need in this nation...no one knows for certain who is saying the truth in our polity these days...falsehood abounds every where and all around.,even the media is complicit in this...But i enjoin all nigerians, especially our youths,to look beyond the 'dirty politics',and ethnic sentiments and identify the honest committed ones and cast for them...because i'm of the believe that Not all the fingers are leprous...

emmasege: I'll address point no. 10 raised by the general, where he said s/east and s/south recorded more than 90% turn out, but other states of the federation recorded only 46%. Is he telling us that the turn out in those northern states where he recorded more than a million votes and close to a million (as the case may be) only recorded 46% turn out. He's once again shown his aversion for the southern Nigeria, and he only needs to intensify his prayers for Nigeria to break up so that he can rule over his sect. But until then, he should forget about entering Aso rock.
Sorry, this election turn out was revealed by AIT. Not Buhari. He's only referring. Hate continue...!
