Politics / Re: Buhari- Empower Police To Deal With Boko Haram by phildon: 11:13am On Jul 27, 2012
I don't expect anything less from those criminals in nairaland that have sworn to defame Buhari in order to save their ass. If Buhari becomes the president, I know that definitely the prisons' capacity will not contain these criminals that have brought the country this shame.
Politics / Re: IBB To Address Military On Strategies by phildon: 8:16am On Jul 27, 2012
KDULAR: I see a lot of okada rider mentality been spewed by different contributors on this post. IBB may not be in the good books of people due to the military incursions into politics and governance, but that does not remove the fact that he is one of the best and fine army officers who I can confidently say deserves to be a General and a indeed respectable one. This our present generation does not know how to remove ingredients and judge each according to the subject, rather, we lump things together and we are so emotional and sentimental in things that don't require such. The reason we align and vote based on ethnic religious and financial consideration rather than what is good and meet for the positions, and at the end of the day, we keep on whining about how sorry the state of things are in the country.
And may God bless u!

Is investment in oil business not enough means for making fat money? But why should my countrymen go beyond that by bleeding the poor dry? This is wickedness in the land!

owobokiri: If Jonathan isnt a willing lackey, heads must be rolling at the NDC by now. When you invite the most corrupted/devilish thing in Nigeria to come and help mould the character of your best security officers, its obvious you dont have the best interest of the country at heart. What is this douchebag going to teach them? Coup ploting 101? Corruption 101? Or Assasinatin 101?
And it is this script of your lack of respect for true professionalism and embrace for mediocrity and nepotism that your clueless president has been acting. Do you agree that IBB knows Nigeria more than any serving security chief? If yes, what do you realy think security is all about?

oiseworld:

i might agree that BH may have started to loose some followers among the muslim community, but it can be said that at one time and even now they enjoy some protection and support from the muslim communities. I watched on tv how people of a community came out to show their support for boko haram even after the kano bombings. It still appeared on some of the dailies then.

Early january, i had a discussion with a southern muslim concerning this issue of boko haram and all he could say was " leave them, we can not do anything about it "
just imagine, a yoruba guy for that matter. The SSS guy is right.
U are simply being economical with the truth. Those communities you referred to as supporting the BH are those being molested by the soldiers who said that their ordeal with the BH was preferable to their torture and dehumanizing experiences with the military. So, don't give us distorted facts to suit ur bigotry. We know it very well.

Yes, they need his contribution for military strategies. If all you can offer is insults, then you are an ode. Acute one.

Can we just stop discussing these guys and face other issues? These guys have gone with the money. Period! Who doesn't know that this government is an epitome of corruption?

I doubt your claims, anyway, its my opinion. However, did you follow the US Marines covert op that fished out Bin Laden, they worked with locals, got tip offs, thats how it works. The SSS can do better no doubts but they need cooperation from the communities (Leaders and residents).
Then don't pretend that you're not aware of the guys that used their bare hands to fight 3 BH guys with rifles and ammunition and were able to apprehend two of them while the 3rd guy fled. The 2 caught were handed over to the police after receiving beatings of their lives. Don't pretend also that you're not aware of the popular Baga market traders in Maiduguri that got their lives wiped away while their shops razed down by BH for no other reason than they were cooperating with the soldiers in arresting their operations. Common! Just don't pretend that you're not aware that the Shehu of Borno was a recent target. Islamic scholars, community leaders, politicians and masses that cross their ways are good victims. Just stop pretending!!!

Seriously, your comment only makes you a BH sympathizer! I lived in the North(not far from Borno) when BH came to limelight and I know what I am talking about. You have left the topic entirely and is actually blaming four groups, the govt, politicians, SE(Igbos) and Christians. Like I told you, I got first hand info from a MUSLIM from a bank I used how they contributed money to BH before their first outrage in 2009. Even to the figures in the account! You sound like a Muslim in SW so I wont blame you much. Like I said ah=gain, I had some good Muslim neighbours. I do not say it to paint Muslims black for we have a lot of dirty people too who claim to be Christians. My point is that the Political, Religous and Traditional rulers are not helping. Some of the locals who are quiet are afraid for their life.

As for the MILITANTS in the creeks, it was the traditional rulers, religous and political rulers that called them to order and helped the FG to curtail them.
For the Niger-Delta militants, ask yourself what the amnesty programme means to you. I am a northern xtian and I can authoritatively tell you that the Mohd Yusuf's BH was supported by few and that was still during Yaradua's regime. However, I have never come across any muslim that says he likes what the present BH are doing right now.In fact, they no longer believe they are muslims. My candid opinion is that we should shelve our sentiments and address this issue. SSS should do there work and stop complaining like this, because they're the ones that receive the tax payers' money and not the community.

Don't u know that this is caused by BH? They disorganised GEJ's gvt.

Even if what you said above is true. We don't all deserve the insults and demonization. The government should have brought these people to face the law by now. But this mayhem continues simply because you wanted an incompetent corrupt clueless man to be our president and he cannot even solve 2+2 . Very sad. sad
You can say that again! Has any muslim ever come out to tell the gvt not to detect, arrest and prosecute them? No! This gvt is simply cueless.

Even before he became a gov, I liked this man because he is a true Nigerian with his exploits in the north and south. But I am afraid that his kinsmen want Biafra. So, he may just wait for the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra.

ifihearam: Furthermore, whether you like it or not,GEJ is leaving aso rock come 2019 and nothing can change it and for the useless boko harams in disguise here, buhari(baboon) will never near abuja not to talk of becoming the president of this country ever again.
I regret why IBB didn't kill him during the coup that toppled his government
Must it be IBB? What are you doing? He is in Daura, go an kill him. Bet you, you and your kinsmen can only be jealous of Buhari. If you have any good reason to link him with BH other than your warped imagination and you cannot present it, pls take a bow and never mention him again for your Ebele's failure.
Politics / Re: GEJ - Boko Haram Disorganised My Plans For Govt by phildon: 8:23am On Jul 18, 2012
noblezone: Those blaming Jonathan for the menace of Boko Haram should see a shrink. Boko Haram is a product of the mis-amalgamation. If Buhari or any of the kinsmen of the Boko Haramites had won the election, there would have been "peace".

I am ashamed to read some tantrums here that will make my 1yr old so matured in the name of posts.

Boko Haram is not the normal security challenge. Nigeria is at "war"! The aggressors want to intimate us into submission. The philosophy is simple: "we rule or don't rule".

For those who find it hard to understand what Mr. President said, The American economy melted because of "war against terror". Boko Haram is doing a "good" job of making "Nigeria ungovernable".

We can either support the progressives and resist the internal colonialists or we can hide behind our computers and blame Mr. president for our woes as if he was the one that caused the mis-amalgamation.

So, it was BH that made his wife a Bayelsa perm sec from Abuja? It was BH made him change UNILAG to MAULAG without consultation with the uni community? It was BH that crippled war on corruption? Pls say something else
Politics / Re: GEJ - Boko Haram Disorganised My Plans For Govt by phildon: 7:36am On Jul 18, 2012
BH is a challenge on this government. But come to think of it. Is there any government that doesnt have its own challenges? How you manage the challenge you face determines your leadership capability. Let me remind you all of El-zazaky and Maitatsine, NADECO, MOSOP,MASSOB, Egbesu, OPC etc. They were far worse challenges because they have millions of followers who supported them openly. But their cases were never reasons for any administration to fail. Yara'adua's regime was welcomed with globl economic meltdown when crude oil sold as low as 40 dollars/barrel. Kai! In saner climes, GEJ would resign.
Politics / Re: GEJ - Boko Haram Disorganised My Plans For Govt by phildon: 7:17am On Jul 18, 2012

Aha! If Obama n Sarkozy could be termed as failures, then ur Ebele is simply a catastrophy. Everyone must avoid him. If a student sees him b4 his xam, he'll fail.

So, it is Boko Haram dt told him nt to declare his assets as a pivot to stamp out corruption too? Today, his wife is not just a ghost worker but a nuisance, curtesy of BH? Voted over N20b on presidential fleet n N18b for the Aviation ministry because of BH? The same BH informed his warped thinking to rename UNILAG without cunsaltation Kai! There are 3 - grades classification system according to the Local Government Acts & Parliament namely
* Grade A (Presumely what populace refer to as 1st class)
* Grade B (2nd class/grade)
* Grade C (3rd grade)
The grading system determinants are solely, among others of less weight, :
* type of settlement ( is it a city, town, village, kingdom etc)
* size of the town in terms of geographical land mass & its population
* the socio-economical contribution of such settlement to the purse of the State-Government
* the historical perspective of such settlement.

The State-Ministry of LG Affairs & Chieftaincy-Titles sees to issues pertaining to this.
Do try to know the class which your king belongs next time you go home.
