IBB may not be in the good books of people due to the military incursions into politics and governance, but that does not remove the fact that he is one of the best and fine army officers who I can confidently say deserves to be a General and a indeed respectable one. i might agree that BH may have started to loose some followers among the muslim community, but it can be said that at one time and even now they enjoy some protection and support from the muslim communities. I watched on tv how people of a community came out to show their support for boko haram even after the kano bombings. It still appeared on some of the dailies then.

Early january, i had a discussion with a southern muslim concerning this issue of boko haram and all he could say was " leave them, we can not do anything about it "
