my suggestion
1 write a letter to the registry quoting this section asking for a correction.Have them sign and acknowledge receipt .

2 prepare an affidavit to reflect this error as contained in your marriage certificate .(you should title it affidavit of misrepresentation of profession)

3 if you were employed at the time of your marriage get a letter of reference and payment slip

4 write a detailed LOE to explain the error and steps you have taken to correct it.

5 scan them all and merge and place in the placeholder for marriage certificate with the marriage certificate that has the error
anyone don this yet?

WES sends email and regular snail mail to Unilag. Unilag responds to the email although, sometime, they'll claim that they haven't seen it. If you have a contact there or if you can afford to go to Exams and Records yourself, go there and follow up. They can send the response within a week if you follow up closely. WES is ok with an email response.

And one last thing, if you can personally follow up, you don't need to pay anyone. They'll check in your presence to confirm whether or not they've received it and tell you when they'll respond.
awesome. thanks for this

Hello Phillip, I'd appreciate you please update on any progress made (either with WES or Unilag). I got same mail yesterday, so we should advance at almost same pace(and time).
I intend having a short stop in school before this week runs out though.
ah bro! I called my contact this morning and she said it usually takes 2-3 weeks although she isn't in that dept that responds to such verification.
she promised to check by next week to put an eye out for my name.
guess you are waiting the eca before dividing into the pool.

I hope this helps you and others requesting for transcript from unilag.

I was trying to pay for the transcript Yesterday, but got the error message, after several failed attempts and considering payment needs to be made, I decided to take a quick stop in school (Records and Transcript). I thought there has to be another way of paying other than the platform which was down.

On getting to records office, I was denied access by security personnel, man kept saying the platform is down and it affects the whole school (apparently, all payments in unilag goes through remita, so, it wasn't just transcript that got affected but all sorts of payment).

After much persistence, I was allowed into the records office - room 163, where I was told to raise a bank draft to the tune of applicable amount in favour of Unilag, then bring the draft back to the record office. This I was able to do within 30 minutes.

After getting back to the records office, I was asked if I brought along hard copies of the application, that is, the print out of the transcript application form, WES request form and whatever I deemed fit. I only went for a short stop so I was without any of these documents but all could be gotten within a short time.

To cut the story short, I got the documents and submitted hard copies. I was able to complete the online application as well, as it was scanned copy of the bank draft I uploaded.

In all, what you need do is to raise a bank draft in favor of University of Lagos, then take the draft to room 163 in Senate.

PS: This is only applicable pending functionality of the etranzact/remita platform. You'd be required to write your name, matrix number and course at the back of the bank draft.
Cheers mate, just did my application today. hopefully it would be out on time.

Please I need advise on getting masters transcripts from Unilag for WES evaluation.

an example of what i would suggest in the summary below. but it has to be tailored to the specific job being applied for.

A highly focused individual with a 2.1 degree in economics
and sound knowledge of basic economics principles
as well as in depth knowledge in complex economic issues coupled with
excellent communication/facilitation
skills from my various work experiences.

i would suggest a brief introduction like an objective statement to get a feel on your person.
something that would highlight your strengths in relation to the job you are applying for.

philip!:
The Crown Prosecution Service is to reconsider its decision not to bring criminal charges after an inquest ruled a father-of-five was unlawfully killed while being deported.

Jimmy Mubenga, 46, was about to return to his native Angola on a British Airways flight in October 2010 when the three G4S security guards restrained him.

He died later in hospital after the plane was stopped on the Heathrow runway to seek urgent medical care.

Three G4S guards - Terence Hughes, Stuart Tribelnig and Colin Kaler - accompanied Mr Mubenga on the flight, but said he was restrained when he attacked one of the guards after boarding the plane.

After four days of deliberations, the jury at Isleworth Crown Court recorded by a majority decision of nine to one that he was unlawfully killed.

A CPS spokesperson said: "Following this verdict, we will consider our original decision in light of any new evidence or information from the inquest, including any conclusions reached by the jury."

The inquest heard that Mr Mubenga died of cardio-respiratory collapse, where the heart stops beating and a person stops breathing.

No criminal charges have ever been brought against the security guards or G4S.

The Angolan was being deported after serving a prison sentence for assault.

Returning the unlawful killing verdict, the jury foreman said: "Based on the evidence we have heard, we have found Mr Mubenga was pushed or held down by one or more of the guards.

"We find that this was unreasonable force.

"The guards would have known that they would have caused harm to Mr Mubenga, if not serious harm."

Other passengers on board the flight said they heard Mr Mubenga wailing for help after saying he could not breathe, with one of the guards apparently replying: "Yes, you can."

Mr Mubenga and his wife, Adrienne Makenda Kambana, had been living in Ilford, east London, after arriving in the UK from Angola in 1994.

He was applying to stay in the UK permanently when it was decided he should be deported after serving two years in jail for causing actual bodily harm.

Speaking outside the court, Mrs Kambana said her husband was treated "worse than an animal".

"What the witnesses said, they heard Jimmy asking for help. Nobody helped him," she said.

"Jimmy should be here, but because he didn't get help, that's why he's not here."

Mrs Kambana said her late husband was a "loving person" who had served his time in jail and did not deserve to die.

She also called for more monitoring of how deportations are handled.

A G4S spokeswoman said Mr Mubenga's death was a "very tragic event" and that the welfare of those in its care was its top priority.

"Our employees were also trained, screened and vetted to the standards defined by strict Home Office guidelines," said the spokeswoman.

"We believe that at all times we acted appropriately and in full compliance with the terms of our contract with UKBA (UK Border Agency).
